I like both, but the Evo has something magic. I like my Evo IX RM'ed in Arancio atlas ( Lamborghini SV orange). The 2008 WRX is also very nice ( the small one which also has a WRC '08 car in the game ).

You cant say I dont like the Evo or Impreza, they are both incredible.

classy dude :) well, i can say i very much agree ;D

I haven't got either in GT5 and I'm not a huge fan of the current WRX or Evo, but going back a few years, I would take the Evo. Or anything before the Evo 6, I would take the STi.

See the finest incarnation of each car below:

STi 22B

I have an 08 STi as my real life car but I wouldn't mind owning an Evo IX as a second car not much as the primary. Evos perform great and are both quick and smooth but are built from a cheap base car and make up for that with plenty of electronic gizmos. The Impreza is a car that's built better from the ground up which uses a "simpler" AWD system coupled with a chassis that has superior dynamics and rigidity.

In short want a track master get an EVO, want a great daily or a better off road vehicle then get an STi.

Here's a nice review from Best Motoring

In GT5 going by generations I kinda prefer one over the other sometime but overall I love them both.
Evo II over STi V2
STi 2door (non 22b) over Evo 6 GSR
Evo IX over the STi 06-07
STi 07 over the Evo IX

//edit Oh, that's only at the beginning..

Hehe, I understand. I have the videoembed greasemonkey script for firefox so links to pretty much any video hosting site get embedded automatically.

Look at that thing, would you? have you ever seen a more gorgeous car?, i hear it's a real dream machine. Oh, baby, the lines, the curves... The Japanese sure know how to design racing machines.

Both cars are great. I prefer Subies but the Evo is faster being more raw. Both have rich rally histories and rivalries.. I've got every single Subie in the game =)

I love both too.. but fact is, in real life I drive wrx sti because in Singapore, Sti is $30k cheaper than the evo!!! And I don't want and don't need to pay for technology that helps me drive faster. Subaru sounds much better and is softer for daily family drive( Singapore gets the euro spec 2.5L).

Okay now if you'll excuse me, I need to get back to my GT5 for some EVO IX photo travelling. LOL :)

Curious...In GT5 I used to drive the Scooby more than the EVO, maybe because I drive a EVO X all day ?

Too bad GT5 STi sound is far away than the real life...

Both are incredible machines , I used to like more the Evo some years ago mainly because I didn´t liked the looks of the sti with the exception of the 22b , but I really like the look of the new one ( the sedan , I hate the hatchback) that now I´m happy driving any of the two.
In the ring I am 2 seconds faster one the Evo X than in the sti but I find the sti more fun to drive.

Not sure if that was sarcasm or not... (forgive me, its friday). The bug eye was the worst looking Impreza they ever made. I don't mind the model after that (05 I think it was) but IMO you can't beat the earlier models (i.e. pre-2000)

i own a 2008 evo x MR therefore i am bias and like the lancer more.

i totally hate the hatchback sti. the new sti's based on last wrx model looks rlly nice imo, but the best subi in my eyes is the one right before the hatchback (i think 2007 model)

We battled it out in Monday Night Endurances last night and (as seen in race results here) Impreza is clearly the best car.

(pretty much everybody raced the Impreza)

If you want the best AWD compact, go VW R32 :D

*starts pulling on flame suit*

Seriously though, if I had to choose, I'd go Subie. Both are great cars, can absolutely shame cars costing much more, and I personally think both look pretty good. So what would tip it towards Subie for me is the exhaust. That boxer 4 can be made to sound really good, where the Mitsu can only sound like what it is: a plain old 4-banger.

Im shocked so many people are pro WRX...

The EVO is wwaaayyy better looking - and has proved each time is faster - more hardcore and simply better!

Oh and I am mega biased - EVO 8 MR driver :P

EVO LOVER HERE... But i like the sti beacause the car has sooo much mechanical grip... compared to the much smarter evo using electronics and diff-rentals to go faster

I love subaru! Especially the 2010 wrx- over 500hp its sweet!
Lancers just arnt my style

GET THE STIG TO TEST THEM PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!đź‘Ťđź‘Ť:)

In real life I do know the EVO X walks all over the 2011 WRX STi. Many road test / reviews have confirmed this. It's actually not even really close as the EVO X straight
out dominates it.

Also as I've mentioned in another thread a stock 2011 WRX STi does not run 7:55 at the Nurb Ring not even close. The STi used for that 7:55 run was FAR from stock.

To give you an example of how quick a 7:55 really is the E92 BMW M3 and Porsche Cayman S run 8:05 - 8:06. A stock STi isn't getting anywhere that kind of time. Realistically it might run about 8:25 at best.

The only area the STi might win against the EVO is in interior quality. You don't have to take my word for it as there are plenty of reviews out there.

And if you really love driving the EVO is a no brainer.
