How much would you pay for GT7 To Get Sub-License for PDI to add Porsche's To Gran Turismo 7?

  • I'm PORSCHE CRAZY! I would Pay $89.00 For GT7 to Get Sub-License From EA to add Porsche to the game!

While adding Porsche to GT has its benefits, it also has the risks to both Sony and Polyphony.

Let's start off with the risks. Sony is in debt, trillions of dollars in the hole. EA might be offering the license for, let's say, $1 billion. If Sony aquired the license, it would put Sony in a deeper financial hole that could put Sony in bankruptcy zone. For Polyphony, it would mean hastily scanning and assembling the Porsches and getting them ready for premium quality.

However, adding Porsche could expand GT's fanbase and boost profits.

Who knows when EA could become deep in the hole and sell the license to willing customers like Sony and Microsoft. But so far, we can only hope...:banghead:

For real?

............Heh, there's an idea. Hey everyone, let's all stop buying FIFAs and Maddens for like a whole year, to see if EA will relent their exclusive Porsche license.
Not buying Need for Speed games is where it will hit EA the most as that is what they have the Porsche exclusivity for.

I'm guessing that this year's NFS game (console and PC) is going to be crap again.

What? Sony isn't in the hole by anything like a trillion dollars. Sony has just over 8 billion dollars in debt. There is also no way that license would cost anywhere near a billion dollars. You could make Destiny 7 times with that much money.

Then things are not going to change.
Most likely not. Especially considering this:

That, my friends, is a Porsche. Licencing deal is still on between EA and Porsche. At least until U3 releases.

Sorry had to drag these up to say, NO.

Sony is not in debt at all, they have posted losses but that is not the same as being in debt. In fact as of March this year they were solvent to the tune of $24 billion (page F-4) with cash holdings of $7.9 billion (page F-5).

Sony could keep posting losses for a very long time before they get even close to being in overal debt.

Doesn't necessarily mean that. There could be a chance of a joint-license(probably highly unlikely, however), kind of like what happened with Forza 4. Wouldn't hold my breath, though.

Like you say, highly unlikely since EA have had exclusive rights for Porsche for 15 years.

Even with that, T10 still managed to snag 30 cars for an expansion. As unlikely as it is, you can't rule it out completely. Just dont hold your breath

Yeah but that was likely a one-off, but I can see Porsche opting out of the deal soon. EA are not using the Porsche licence as well as it deserves to be used. There was 4 Porsches in NFS Rivals which makes it one of the least represented marques in the game, yet EA get exclusive rights. If Porsche want to be represented properly, I can see them moving to expand to other games.

Of course if they decide to buy the rights of some models and put them ingame i'd be really happy, but honestly i loved Gt when it was without ferrari, bugatti and all that.
Rufs are fine, just give more variety and a little more of customization and we're there.

Why do Porsche want to be on EA out of all the good racing games ? Why is the photo like that ?
I would never buy an EA game because of their greed, and what they have done forcing the absents of Porsche's in all the great driving and sim Racing games on console.

It would be cool if GT7 would just put the Rufs in Race Car Liveries and make all Rufs, Street and Race cars Premium, I'm tired of waiting on EA, plus I don't see Porsche's winning any racing championships anyway, (I know it sounds like sour grapes) That's just because it is LOL!!!

...Actually, I think I need to play a Devil's advocate here - considering what Konami is doing, and Ubisoft, I'd say EA is doing a bang-up job so far.

Having Porsches exclusive to EA's racing games, I guess they have room full of analysts crunching those numbers on their Sharp calculators, and arriving at the point in the spreadsheet where it says "It's their USP."

...Probably that's why they spend millions hogging 'em licenses...:indiff:

No other Sim Racing games have Porsche's, so they need to rethink their asking price, Not even Forza nor Driveclub have Porsche's, they all use Ruf and it serve EA right for being so nonnegotiable. (The Market has spoken, no one is willing to pay their asking price), EA needs to take the average of all the offers they have received, to set the price, because the only ones really loosing is EA, because when the smoke clears we have Ruf :sly:

...??? Sooooo, how does any of that affect EA? I mean, you just actually mentioned a reason to BUY a EA game if you happen to be a Porsche fan.

Or am I not understanding you 100%?

It's not Porsche that I'm frustrated with, It's EA
