PSN+: 5 dollars a month times 12 months = 60 dollars.
Not much difference either way.

At least it's not stupid compared to this;

XBL: 10 dollars a month times 12 months = 120 dollars.
What a sneaky scheme Microsoft.

I assume you're talking about AUS dollars? Because XBL is $60 a year in the US, not $120, but you can usually get it even cheaper.

$47 per year.

Lolwut.
Where are you buying Live from..? Its $59.99 to renew for a year on the dashboard, and you can regularly find 1 year codes for $35-40 on Amazon.

Edit: tree'd

*Facepalm*.

I mean Microsoft charges 70 dollars or whatever for online a year but charges 10 dollars a month.

...and you would have to be stupid to pay the $10 a month. Sony do not even offer a monthly option so the comparison isn't valid. PSN+ is $50 a year or 3 months for $18.

Just having regular PSN to play online like we have now is just perfect. I'm not a shopping fanatic and I don't enjoy PS Store that much. The thing I like is those free demos we can scavange sometimes.

^ Paying to play online on PS4 should be a crime. PSN is one of the worst networks in the world. XBOXLive never got down a month because of a simple hack attack. :)

You are starting to get quite tiresome now.

The Xbone looks better.

o_O

It's a box though. Just like the previous two.

The designers of the PS series al least vary the designs a bit each, and during each generation (slim models).

I think the Xbox One is a very boring and lazy design personally.

The PS4 is not as fancy as i was expecting, but i've not yet seen anything else that looks like that in relation to entertainment devices.

I had always planned on buying the PS4, and maybe the Xone later, but now theres absolutely no way i'll be buying it.
Have 'given up' on Forza after the monotonous Forza 4 (own Forza 1, 2, 3 and 4), and i still didn't really like the handling of the cars (how they break loose so easily without warning, whereas you sometimes get a fair bit more warning in GT5) and haven't been interested in Halo since Halo 3 (and especially since Bungie left) since ODST etc made it just seem like every other shooter, not a Halo game, so theres nothing else luring me to the Xbox one now anyway.

I kinda hope that everything about the Xbox One stays the same, and the console bombs so that Micro$oft finally get a taste of reality. Don't tell us what we want in a console, listen to what we want.

I do agree that the Xbox One looks better simply because it does actually look like a $500 device, even if it is just a big box. The PS4 on the other hand uses that same cheap plastic from the slim PS3s and it just don't look very flashy at all. I'm still surprised they went with that on the first version and not a nicer looking but slightly more expensive plastic.

It doesn't really matter of course, it is just a box after all, but I do think the Xbox looks better.

Hm..The only thing I like about the XBone's design is that it looks like a SFF PC. At least Sony were being a little more creative with their design while also being more hardware efficient. (is that the word?) As in, the PS4 can contain it's PSU while still being smaller than its predecessor, the XBone is bigger than its predecessor and still no internal PSU.

Source?

*edit* found it.

Do you see an internal PSU? I don't.

As for the PS4, while I'm not 100% sure, it has the same power port that the PS3 Slim and SuperSlim. No proprietary port like with the XBOne, my guess as to why is because the PS4 doesn't need it because it's PSU is internal.

Edit - Nevermind, looks like you've found it as I was posting. :P

What about other announcements? I haven't seen the XBox One show, but there should be more then just one instance. Pretty funny regardless.

The next bit of hardware I'm buying is the retail Oculus Rift

To each his own of course, but I could not disagree more. Xbox One is just a box, yes, but the PS4, not so much. Now, you may think it's ugly, but it's not just a box.

I'd actually go as far as saying the Xbox One has the ugliest design in the history of gaming consoles, simply because it doesn't have a design at all. It simply looks like an 80's VCR in my opinion. The PS4 on the other hand, no matter how ugly you may think it is, has a design that is unusual and new, plus it's like 20-30% smaller than the Xbox.

I don't know. I think that prize goes to the Game Cube.

Actually I don't think the XB1 looks that bad. It is a game console, none of them look that good but I think I like the styling better on the PS4 than the XB1 or 360 or PS3

I do wonder how well the PS4 will deal with the heat generated by the new hardware in such a small case though.

I totally get what you're saying, it is just a box with very little style but i still think it looks it's worth. PS4 may be different but it's hardly revolutionary design and I maintain it still looks cheap and boring. I doesn't have a wow factor. Neither does the Xbox but at least it looks like it's worth $400+.

To further illustrate my point, take a look at this Sony Blu-Ray player:

It's not going to win any design innovation awards but it looks sharp and expensive. Know how much it is? £90.

On the exclusives side, I'm getting the One for Crimson Dragon (BIG fan of the Panzer Dragoon franchise, so this is a must for me), Killer Instinct and Titanfall. for the PS4... possibly the new inFAMOUS, and Killzone: SF. The rest will depend on what will work on which system better, since they are shared between both consoles.

The Wii U is looking like a good buy finally, around 2014 with the new Smash, Mario Kart, and Mario/Luigi titles. I'm a sucker for AAA Nintendo titles.
