The Pod pics are all from GT Concept Tokyo/Geneva.
And where does it say that those Formula Nippon cars are in GT5:P??

As has already been pointed out, those are not cars that are to be featured in GT5: Prologue - they are merely examples of cars where GT (Polyphony Digital) have contributed to their design through the history of the GT series as a whole. The link posted before (http://www.gran-turismo.com/jp/products/collaboration/) is slightly misleading in the context of this thread. It hasn't got anything to do with GT:HD or GT5:P whatsoever.

I'll fix that to make sure that nobody else makes that silly assumption that I just did. Sorry for that Chris.

I hope its not free. They could get away with charging at least $15-$20 for it. Its basically a real game, just smaller scale.

I hope its not free.

For the God's sake, why? :) :) :) Explain this? :) :) :) WTF?

I even have a thought it could be free, because having such a content free-of-charge would push the console sales enourmosly. It woould meant a ton of positive PR throught all imanigable media, it would again underline the fact that online play on PS3 is for free, integration with Home (official as we can see, and Home is going to also be free as we know) would also made it's postive PR job and everyone woould be very happy.

GT:HD demo was downloaded milllion times. If they price-tag this demo for 10 bucks, it would mean 10 millions revenue if 1 million people WOULD buy it. But price of positive PR if GT5:P would be given for free surpass those 10 million in revenue by large margin. I know this is wishfull thinking, but releasing Prologue as free download could be very smart move from SCE in terms of enhacement PS3's sales.

Holy. Crap.

PD must have God working for them. Just wow.

I'm sure many have noticed, but I like the fact that the AI drivers all have different helmets apparently. It's one of those nice little touches.

hm, based on my terrible Japanese it looks like the October date is at the moment only confirmation for a Japanese domestic release date. This doesn't rule out global release (I would severly doubt this won't be released globally!), but from my understanding it only mentions that in the particular news story.

As you can already do in TT, It would be nice to pick out your own helmets and suits for GT5.

 In the Japanese GT official site, there is a page titled "Gran Turismo 5 Prologue: Story"
http://www.gran-turismo.com/jp/gt5p/story/

In this page, there are some hints about the release date and possible cars in the game, written in Japanese.
So, here goes my translation: :) (Note: I'm native to Japanese.)

October 26, 2007. The 40th Tokyo Motor Show 2007, which will open on this day, is sure to be featuring those Japanese super-sports cars that have overcome desperately adverse conditions by revolutionary technological innovation.
Among those high-performance models that are speculated to be highlighted in the show are New GT-R, next model NSX, the successor to Supra, Lancer Evo X, new Impreza STi, Lexus LF-A, etc. All big names that herald the revival of the Golden Age of sports cars.
Along with these revolutionary Japanese sports cars, "Gran Turismo" will make a step toward a new frontier. And the door will be opened by "Gran Turismo 5 Prologue." In this latest game, it is scheduled that collaboration will come true with some Japanese sports cars that will debut in the Tokyo Motor Show.

Nice to see 16 cars! Hopefully this feature is Multiplayer Compatible.
Now for the liveries and Race body kits.

And just to come back to our previous conversation about releasing relevant information...

THAT'S A GOD DAMN TRAILER! THAT IS SOMETHING I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO!
Spec B movie:

haha this rocks just keep the faith keep the faith brotha I knew PD had something in store I knew that 60 second bit at E3 wasn't all GT5 and GT5 Prologue is all about. 16 cars ROCKS

Good to see some of your Faith in PD restored

E3 sucked this year so bad compared to earlier years, Square didn't even bother to show FFXIII, and PD showed us a 60 second snoozer of GT 5 Prologue

But keep the faith and hope for 16 cars online and some form of damage. Body kits and liveries come after those 2!!

👍 thanks for the translation!
OMG OMG OMG I'm so excited. I can't wait to test drive the new cars!

Well it's restored my faith that's for sure, but I'll believe in car and 16 players when I'm actually in car and with 15 other drivers around me.

GTHD Concept was only confirmed for a Japan PSN release until literally days before it was actually released in the US simultaneously, so yes it'll probably reach Europe and the US at the same time. :)

At one japanese site there is somehow deeper analysis of Kaz's words at conference today. Based onthe Altavistian language it says like this for the important parts:

"As for the my page, the translucency calendar of the month unit where the online event and the like is indicated in the left side, the car which presently is riding in the right side occupies most. Above (perhaps worldwide map where the rival or) the address of the other player of the friend et. al. and the weather etc. are recorded, the idea contest and the like of race/lace, the garage, the album and profile etc. was arranged underneath. As for the background "as for now having appeared, you call the thing which represents German countryside town," you become the spectacle that the car where the player now is riding, is not to pass is there. As for the design sense which interface and you call good layout, that is refined beautifully "sigh mono" one word. As for at this event because screen photographing is altogether prohibited, it does not have to be regrettable not to be able to introduce in the article.

Concerning the modeling of the body "as usual, Yamanouchi that you adhere tremendously". Here AUDI R8 and Ferrari F430 etc. in the sample, were made thoroughly to detail and the interior which it can be troubled and furthermore the circumstances etc. which have been reproduced were announced to structure of the engine compartment.

As for the race/lace scene, the image of 1080p gouy gouy moves in real time. It is that even just that is enormous sufficiently, but it can travel this work simultaneously up to 16. You say that also precision of simulation furthermore is raised, but those where Yamanouchi has emphasized above that "AI of the enemy car", very became wise. Car each one other than the player circumstance autonomous by AI judgement. While you protecting your own line, you say that it unfolds the various running pulling. "This much the scene which the many cars run simultaneously is unprecedented even in history of . I whom it makes were impressed, when really this moved. After all the one which the race/lace car hard it was running, is good ones becoming, you think ", that it means you call, furthermore" as for I aiming with this title "you would like to making standard and the benchmark where the race/lace game is new". this year 10th year. In addition we would like to make the standard of the new race/lace game ", that it declared strongly."

So, basicaly is understandabe that Prologue will get us enhanced community assets for menu, advanced AI, 1080p for 16 cars on track. Sweet, because it's official.

Here is the link to the article for our Japanese friends to translate if possible:

Cool, I didn't know that.

What I mean is that in the news story on their site it says something about a Japanese release in October, but it doesn't even tell you whether it's on disc or through the PS network, and I suppose it wouldn't tell us when the worldwide release is since it's so early plus it's the Japanese site.

Great offical info amar12, now if they can confirm 16 players online and the great sound from the E3 video I'll be floored. Damage, weather etc can wait until GT5 next year. I wonder how much this is going to cost on the PSN. I'd pay $50 because I'm obsessed but I'm thinking it will run arond $20-$30

also, amar12 the picture you posted earlier of GT5 prologue with the HOME logo is very interesting.

Imagine going into a PD created and GT5 themed HOME space and seeing a virtual Yamanouchi moving around and talking with people

Then you see other GTPLANET.NET members. You walk up to KY with them and jump into a GT5 Prologue race.

Imagine the possibilites that home brings to the table

That's just the tip of the iceberg

Since Album is mainly related to Photomode, its good Photomode will be in GT5 Prologue.

Finally got around to DL'ing the vids...

And I just watched them on our TV in all the Full HD Glory - I think I died a little. That is so beautiful, I think I can stay away from the Xbox and PGR4 just a little while longer....

wow...
