Looks beautiful that video. Wish I could hear that sound. Although, noticed that the car was in Road A so added that into the Road A class in the car list.

The chase cam looks like it's rotating more than it did in pCars 1. That's really bad for car control. Hopefully it's adjustable or at least the same stiffness as it was in pCars 1.

You know everyone will just make fun of you for using chase cam anyway right?

No I'm serious lol. It's a racing simulator for Christ's sake. What part of racing does a chase cam simulate?
remember just because its a racing sim people can use a controller & can use driving aids to make it easier. So not everyone will use it as a sim.

It's also a game which is why they're open. Why have bonnet cam, roof cam etc? I don't see you bashing those.
In all honesty and then I'm done cuz I'm just dicking around... Those views are at least more realtisic in that its a perspective you might get on tv broadcasts. And still gives a sense of a first person view moving down the road

But do what makes you happy. I don't really care

I just love arguing. ;)

cockpit.. ALWAYS...

but now in VR :D

I also don't use paddles in H sifter cars. No driving assists as well unless the car has them IRL.

But wrt to the view, that's actually THE thing I praise in iRacing if I had to chose one.

I also think the same about gamepads btw. You won't find many leagues allowing that mixed controllers either.

We can argue about the why's and the why nots and i do understand why it's liek that. I'm just saying I don't like it but fortunately it's something that's usually locked

What leagues are you racing in that don't allow controllers? :odd:

Last time I sat in a race car I could see a hell of a lot more than I can in any game. Add to that you can't look around like you do when your in a real car without expensive VR gear...

I totally forgot that i'm ...

My apologies. Still, even when i raced with some of you here (ps3) I used a wheel although this was years ago...

I still stand by what i said though.

Everyone has different views on what they think is right and wrong. There's nothing wrong with having different opinions. :gtpflag:

I didn't stop racing my mates here because of it but I don't have to like it and since I do have a choice... ;)

wrt to driving views though, everything but cockpit is plain wrong. In a sim, that is, although I'd love to one day drive in Mario Kart from an actual kart POV. THAT would be a challenge I suppose :D

PS: Yes I do like Mario Kart as well :P

Is McLaren 570S in Road B? If so, then Corvette Z06 and Jaguar F-Type SVR have to be in Road C. They are four seconds slower than 570S at Laguna Seca.

If it were me I would have the 570S one class lower then the z06 honestly. I would have the z06 in road B and 570 in road C. To me the z06 competes better with the 650s or 675lt.

I think the American said they will use tires as part of the BoP. At that point, you could see a 570 against a Mustang as long as the Mustang had much grippier tires.

Anyone who says this kind of stuff might have a point if they were talking about a permanent full-size simulator rig. But this is a racing simulator videogame, published for videogame consoles and a videogame distribution platform. Videogames are entertainment. Driving from a chase camera view can be entertaining. So what?

Realism or authenticity do not transform a videogame into something other than entertainment. They are simply qualities that can complement the experience. Why should the existence of these qualities dictate the way a game is meant to be played, particularly when the developer includes alternatives? It's absurd.

Not everyone intends to make-believe they are actually driving a car when they play a racing sim, either by their choice of view, choice of controller, or whatever. Why that gets under some people's skin is beyond me.

That why I accept it, but I don't like it and refuse to drive on any view besides cockpit. Never raced in a pc league in a more serious way without the views being locked as far as I remember

But one can also argue, why playing a sim with a pad and chase cam? Sims are not sims just because physics in my opinion. This is a discussion that will never get anywhere and it's not even a matter of agreeing to disagree.

There is a wide range of audience with different views. iRacing doesn't face that problem as it targets a very specific audience which are not casual players and do take sims (sometimes too much) seriously.

Hey, at least here people are sensible enough so we can discuss this without a fuss. Major kudos to all :)

I see this post about "learning more about new GT3 cars next week" from 2-3 weeks now :(
Just like 2 weeks ago the post saying " more car reveals in the coming week :)" ...and nothing came. We have seen like what 2 new cars in the last 3 weeks and one of them we already knew about which was the M6 gt3 ( not counting the European special car packs) some of those guys either need to not post or stick to their posts.
