It's looking like Tuesday guys and it's our fault and no one elses sorry. What happened is the hot patch we pushed out at the last second was accepted by Europe but the US insisted on that being retested which is normal protocol.
Europe had to get ready to go out for a nice glass of wine and a fish supper :)

On XBONE, replays do look smoother. I did notice AI were affected when forced off the dry line and when the track got wet. They slowed up considerably.

Accolades again to SMS for producing a great game. I'm stuck on TCR again. Played from 7am and it's 8:59pm right now. Add Honda, VW, Peugeot & Audi and this game will dethrone ToCA1 as my favorite Touring Car game of all time(I'm waiting to see how the '66 RTR handles, before I label this my favorite RACING game of all time :sly: ).

Initial Impression of Patch 3.01 (PS4 Pro)

I was just going to ask people's opinions here about patch 3.01, as i won't be able to try it until way into the future Although by then we'll be on patch 8.01 or something like that lol! Thanks @Scaff !! ;)

In Response to:
Alex ONeill:
@IanBell , I'm hearing that we will need to delete any saved setups before we do the update, is that correct?
May I ask, why, exactly?
I didn't know about that and didn't have the chance to do so because my PS4pro is hibernating all the time and downloads+installs patches automatically. TBH, I don't notice anything, game runs fine.

My assumption would be that your created setups may not work as they would have done pre patch, e.g custom tire pressures may cause the car to handle differently compared to before the update.

Thanks for responding. Well, from that I take that it's safe to delete the setups after patching the game? The wording "(...)need to delete any setup before we do the update(...)" made it sound like a necessity to delete own setups before patching pC2.

To make sure that everything is working as intended, please delete your pre-patch setups and create new ones.

Only with incompatible exe's trying to race together. It will happen each time and will be exacerbated if we have staggered patch releases like we're seeing this time.
If happening before any other players are involved or have joined. Happens most for me when selecting the cars and class etc for a server I'm planning to start.

Watching a replay at Sugo and the front of my car is out of focus, but the AI cars behind are tracked in complete focus.

Something crazy going on with penalties since the patch...myself in 3rd overtakes 2nd cleanly on the last corner at long beach and then i get a pen saying i need to give the the 4th place guy his place back who is no where near us 3 upfront...is this a bug?

Also when starting races the guy behind me rams the back of my car every single race if i dont get a perfect start.

The ram at the start always happens.

The penalty thing is new to me as well. I've been getting +2, +4, +5 second penalties and drive thrus for no reason(I also have turned off track limits). I even was told to do a drive thru with 1 minute to go. I drove past the pits and finished the race several places down from my spot at the finish line. It usually ends the race if I ignore it. Must be a bug.

I went to Knockhill a few races later and was getting non stop slowdown penalties the few races i had there. Also the Lambo physics seem awful compared to the demo with the demo car feeling planted and full game driving a huge piece of jelly around around.

Game is near perfect for me after the latest patch, now if SMS could just make the AI set similar lap times across practice, qualifying and race sessions I'd be more than happy with the game 👍.

As an addition, I did feel Knockhill was very low grip. Haven't raced there much, but noticed more graphic dust on the racing line at the back mid part of the circuit(on XBONE).

For me, everything else is fine, perfect even. The TCR new tyre is excellent. No more spinning out on cold tyres. The AI race side by side without having convulsions.
Lift off oversteer is pretty much gone. Though the rear is more controllable.
The graphics also appear better in replay. The sound is balanced between AI and User. I've been able to save them now, but can only access one. All the rest are Failed media. This is with a brand new account.

Been having the best offline races this past weekend.

Edit: How could I forget the controller settings? Haven't had to adjust anything. Straight out the box, they're perfect. Thanks to the team @IanBell

The save setup over existing works and save to new slot also works if you really do choose a vacant slot, but doesn't work if you try to write it to a different but already occupied slot.

Secondly I have been doing races against the ai at Texas oval in the IndyCar. The ai are pretty good until about lap 25 and then they lose the plot. I am guessing it's because they don't know how to pit. Instead of dropping to the apron they just slam on the brakes in the final turn and cause huge piles ups. Don't know if that was like that before the patch or not.

Ai at 105 performance and 65 aggression.

Be very careful now when entering pit lane!! I have twice been DISQUALIFIED from the race when entering a bit to hot. One was in the final hour of an 8 hour endurance race.

This is WITHOUT rules and flags on by the way. Just warning everyone

I’ve done exactly this. Car just spins out into pit and causes severe damage and goes straight back out again...

Well it looks like I'll have to wait for patch 4.0 before I can play again. Constant CE errors since 3.01 landed. Been in front of the TV now for an hour and not yet managed to start or join a game. I cannot use the car selection screens at all either when joining a room or even creating my own custom race or online event. I have even tried deleting the whole game and starting from scratch but it makes no difference.

Hacked off. Right off now to set my wheel back up on the PC for some Assetto Corsa.

Had my first today. Game was trying to save but just hung. Had to exit out and it then force quit the game.

Went back in and save was corrupted but luckily the game has a built in backup system. Only lost one race.

Online connectivity doesnt seem to have improved, still getting randomly kicked/being stuck on the waiting screen forever :/

Disconnects are killing me right now. I'm on PC and totally frustrating. Not sure if it's ISP, game or PC. Never had this issue on Xbox but im lucky if i get to run a full race.

Checking event viewer on pc shows 1014 DNS error for Steam which matches my disconnect times.

Tried hard coding my DNS server ip to see if that helps.

Sigh...

That's tough man. Could imagine your frustration.

I'm in the exact same boat. Can't play at all anymore, online or offline. I hope SMS take note and fix it right away, as I've had to shelf my game once again. Back to Dirt4 (with proper force feedback and manual shifts that actually require a clutch). Last time I pay retail for a game on release! $139 AUD I payed for the deluxe edition, and nothing but frustration.

I can't even imagine trying for that long to join a lobby. I'd be back to singleplayer after 15 minutes at most. It's what discourages me from bothering with online multiplayer at all. Even without connection errors, it's too much time spent staring at a menu screen.

CE errors on single player too......
