Hmmm, 2d top-down arcade racer coming to PS4 has pitstops!

Ultimate 2d racing.jpg

Joking aside, its does look fun, and an old school top-down racer is good to see.

I wondered if someone was going to post about this 2D racer as I just saw it when browsing the store.

Actually tempted to buy it, brings back many memories of Micro Machines and the old Super Monaco GP on Mega Drive...
I've just bought it, will be giving it a go tonight, for £8 its worth the risk even if its a bit rubbish, and I will at least get a new video out of it.

Formula only, or there are any GT cars?

Also, a question inspired by recent post in countdown thread, how many chances for Super GT upgrades for cars, GT300 and GT500? The last season with LC500. Or older with Supra, old one I mean.

Let us know what the wheel and ffb implementation is like. ;)

Somewhat off topic, but it makes a change from all the tyrestop stuff.
I know you like your vehicular games, have you tried Overpass ? I've been eyeing it up and it's currently on offer.
I picked it up in the sale over the weekend (along with the second TT). had a quick go so it's early, its a great idea and a lot of potential locked up in a very average title (with some of the most annoying engine sounds known to humanity).

I do wonder what is SMS marketing team is doing, I remember the last 2 games marketing isn't that good but pCARS 3 marketing is next level of bad marketing.

Since they claim there is vehicle upgrades and I think specs/classes to go through in career, can't they just show us the upgraded vehicles and its specs? A simple clip of showing a stock Evo 9 to a widen body race car more than a week ago got me really interested in seeing what the game could provide.

or more like there's already so much infos available now that people already has moved on before the game even launched.

I think it is lack of info as well, the only info we were told is things that got cut but nothing on added features or gameplay sturcture. We know nothing about the career progression, the vehicle upgrades they said available in game and whatever new features that they claim fans is asking for. We don't even have a footage of multi class racing or mix manufacturer racing either.

The existing fans likely move on after the first dev blog post and they release no new info to bring new audience either.

Just woked up and this made my day

No track list
No full list of features.
Not up for pre order yet.

car list and track list is usually the last thing to release but features and even pre orders is missing is a weird one. I think we have more than 1 gameplay video but nothing good in it, the C6 drifting, AMG GT3, C8.R GTE, AMG GT and the recent Indycar one but all the footage is either single make or free practice.

What? where have you been?
Cars are pretty much every cars that has been in the previous franchise and some newer more from the same manufacturer from this or last year.
Same for tracks, the pattern is pretty much the same as SMS recycle everything they done with minimal effort or investment for the last 10 year. If you are worried about that specific car that isn't announced, your loss. It will probably be a car body under another 'other car' physics.
Full feature? It been widely said it going to be a Shift successor, so I expect the minimum if not the same. Plenty of the official videos tends to prove it. No full race, no pit stop, just the casual crap nobody asked for. Up to that point my decision was pretty much done.

I want to see a gameplay video with multiple cars on track WITHOUT all of the achievement gimmicks on the screen. That would make me feel much better about possible pre-ordering it. That and a track list that shows LeMans Historic and a car list that shows Early Prototypes.

Playing pcars 2 :P

That's just assumption from you since we don't know what has been cut both tracks and cars.

Again more assumptions from you since not much as been reveal for you to base that on.

Never played any shift game so i wouldn't know.

Seems as though project cars have sold their soul to the devil. Struggling to understand why sms have taken this direction other than greed. I certainly wont be buying this version, or future ones for that matter, so much potential with sms, only they have good things to say about this game, absolute sell outs, iam done.

I'm also questioning why they're not showing more of this game. I swear that PC2 was being showcased way more than this when it was in development.

There's very few things I know about this game like a handful of new cars such as some GT4 cars, one new Indy Car, and the new Toyota Supra. Interlagos is the only new track I know about, there's some customization features being added, and pitstops have been taken out. Beyond that, I know nothing about what I'm in for. SMS for crying out loud, your game is about a month away from release; show more stuff!

Yup i'm getting to the point where i'm starting not to care. :(

36 days left and yet the game isn't up for pre order on psn?

Say what you will about SMS/Codemasters, after the somewhat lackluster announcement of Forza Motorsport today (no gameplay, no launch date, no info) they have the market for themselves for the foreseable future in all platforms. Well played.

I was just thinking about same thing. SMS will take over both Forza and GT fans. Both are hungry for this type of game. SMS is really on great position.

Simple, Ian Bell was still a big boss and could do whatever he wants. Show off his new game, brag about it and so on. This is probably not permitted by Codemasters.

Just what I had been thinking for a while given his unusal silence. Is he a boss anymore?

Nobody misunderstad me please. I lobed Ian's naturality to the poiont of streching it just how he did when pc2 promotion began (and he with guitar and all that). I even remember saying, in this verty forum (that's the point, was here right?), that the industry needed more people like Ian. I am damn sure I said that and it was here.

Ok, times might have changed then, but still in my head the question persist. Ain't he The Boss anymore or what?

And yes for all those who still doubt or didn't get me. Regardless that old attitude of his might be counter-productive or not considered serious with the risk of being punished blahblah mehmeh... I still loved it, and gave kudos to him and, most important, called him human. That session of his being that drunk but defending his product against anyone who wanted to mess with him..., I will never forget that. I know the serious guys will always say "this guy should shut the **** and never manage advertising"..., but I will never forget that. Loved that attitude of his.

Ok my two cents. Kill me now mother*** hehehh
_______

And no. This time ain't buting the game until I try it. Minimum fairness ok?

Take care Ian. I loved witnessing your truself. Never, and please never feel embarrasment of that day. Please

It is all good, but where is he now, it was so unusual and awesome to see him here, no matter what he posts, it felt just like a true connection between developers and fans. He was here, if I remember correct, after few days of a trailer showcase.
