Looks like we may finally get a look at gameplay :D

Nope, it will be a trailer:

Well at least we now have another game with the IR-18, even if it is pre-shield screen

Amen its about time..... Car list that's my only request since its gonna determine rather i buy this game or not. ;)

Likewise. One thing I loved about the PC2 car and track list was the excellent diversity and great car classes. Whilst Forza and GT may have more cars, I think the attention to detail in Project Cars made them more enjoyable there. It really seemed like they thought carefully about each car they added and made sure that it would have believable competition although not perfect. I’m a huge fan of some of the older race cars and if they’ve fleshed out the Group C, Can Am and vintage prototype and touring categories, I’d be more than willing to forgive the lack of pit stops. Some welcome additions would be a Jaguar D-Type to compete with the DBR1 and 250 TR. Perhaps a Lola T70 Coupe to compete with the 917 and 512. McLaren M20, Lola T70 Spyder and McLaren M1B to improve the Can-am class (although they may have to add a pre-1970 and post 1970 class) and an Aston Martin AMR1 and Mazda 767B in the Group C class. That’s only 7 cars yet I would buy the game instantly if they’re all added. The inevitable DLC could also take these classes to the next level.

The new gameplay also raised my expectations a little. The track scenery looks a lot more detailed with TV screens and tents scattered around. The car also sounds a lot less computer generated when compared to PC2. If that detailing has been applied to all the historic tracks and sound adjustments made to all the classic and modern machinery, I think we could have a pretty fun and immersive title on our hands. Makes the loss of pit stops that bit more painful though since the improvements could have been carried there too, but who’s to say they can’t add them further down the line or in the next instalment. Still need more gameplay to make a decision though but I’m cautiously optimistic.

I'm interested in the improvements and new stuff in general, but I agree, the car list will determine just how excited I will be. If the car list hardly fills the gaps that PCARS2 left, and only adds an upgrade path for a relatively small pool of cars, that won't be so exciting.

Non-racecar forms of a handful of cars already in PCARS2 would go a long way. All I want is some of those cars with the option to skip sticky racing slicks, stiff racing suspensions, and narrow steering lock angles. It doesn't make sense to me to restrict popular models to such a narrow scope when the point of a simulator is the potential depth of its modelling.

I agree. We’ve got the legendary touring versions, but a bone stock E30 M3 and Mercedes 190E with the option to upgrade could lead to hours of fun.

Menu animations are great! But In practice where there is no other cars and no public they should put a more appropriate BGM (we hear cars passing by and the crowd making noise). Also they could remove helicopter/balloons in the sky (and maybe some cars) from the scenery in practice mode at least and keep it for big event days.

With the YT compression we cannot quite well compare tilling texture of road or sand, but it looks very similar to pCARS2. Tree shades seems WIP but I hope to not see them popping in the day1 patch. While looking very similar to pCARS2 overall, without final refinements, the graphics does not look as good for the time being.

Also, the driver is going into the Corkscrew with no hands on the steering wheel... Maybe something can be done abou this?

Not sure what there to dislike about the video really. Yes the pit lane is closed. But the pit area does seem to be fully modeled still, so maybe the power of next gen consoles may unlock them. Although that might be in PC4.

Anyway purely judging it on what it shows. The new menus look good, the options seem to be more accessible - and very snappy. Laguna looks impressive with its extra polish. The camera movement in car seems to be much the same - which is good (just hope it's still adjustable). And, YouTube allowances, it seems to run smoothly. I can't tell about the important bit, the "feel", because it's not me behind the wheel. So in general all positives and still nothing yet to stop me from being open-minded and interested in this new approach.

I'm still glad that they are making a game for a console I own. Given all the CPU usage that the removal of pitstops, tyre wear and fuel usage has freed up I'm hoping for improvements elsewhere. Further additions to the driving physics has already been mentioned. The AI cars will hopefully benefit too.
