Quite an interesting read. One little nitpick (I was going to say I hate to do it, but that would be a lie....):
We’ve been striving to offer the best experiences possible in VR since PCARS 1, which was a lunch title for the first consumer version of the Oculus Rim.

What is this device, and where can I get one

Joking aside, what happened to the concept of proofreading an article before you publish it....

Reading these extracts of the interview, while I am happy fot the confirmation on 60fps on all platforms, I can also be quite sure it won't be 4K60 on OneX.

The part where the guy says that 4K on PC requires very high-end PC was quite self explanatory.

I should think it’ll be like PC2 with options to choose enhanced framerate, enhanced resolution or enhanced visual quality.

60fps on consoles will mean nothing without proper optimisation to complement the amount of AI plus the dynamic TOD and weather. The last 2 games weren't particularly well optimised for consoles and I doubt the 3rd one will show much improvements.

I’m not sure. I think the limitation to 20 AI on console is a hint of their willingness to reduce "freedom" for a more solid framerate.

What info and insight are they really going to receive from controller using kids that crash each other? They don't know anything about giving feedback.
They might learn that fun games sell.

I'd imagine the feedback from some controller users is more useful than what they get from some of the crap players running 5 seconds off the pace, hitting anything in sight on their £300 toy steering wheels.

In Dev Blog 2, they talk about code optimisation:
Casey Ringley: Vehicle Technical Art and Handling: As Jussi says, it’s still the MADNESS Engine, and the physics engine has been improved, but what’s changed is the optimizations and experience that you’ll find in Project CARS 3. Our STM (Seta Tyre Model) in Project CARS 2 was great but it was also processor intensive, and we’ve gone through all the code to make it more robust and efficient so that the same high-resolution can be used on all platforms.

What was the Xbox One X performance like for Project CARS 2?

In summary, more resolution and car and trackside details than Pro. Minor screen tearing and dips in FPS here and there. IMO, much better lighting than FM7.

Which is funny as they claimed that to be an increase to 20. I'm hoping they meant that's for online.

Codemasters owns the studio that’s developing it.

Codemasters isn’t publishing this title (I think it’s the last game Bandai Namco are releasing with SMS, not sure), but it still supporting it in other ways.

I know all this and heard it a lot of time, but today I saw they literally said that this is their game.

You’re reading a bit too much into that I’d say.

Codemasters owns the studio and the IP.
Bandai Namco publish the games (currently).

“Our games” essentially translates to “our brands”, and Project CARS is one of those.

Koch Media publish (the physical versions of) DiRT, GRID and F1. Would you say Koch own those brands?

[edit: Scaff beat me to it]

It may just be my ASD, but I don't get the joke?

But that's not what CM are saying.

The captions would be more accurate if it was.

"I made this"
"You made this"
"I bought this"

CM is a developer and publisher, when they claim "our" game instead of SMS game or BN game, it is literally sounds the same to me. Lol, what a trigger I found.

But they own SMS, so it kind of is. They aren't claiming to have developed or made the game. They own the studio who has made it, thereby through proxy it is their game.

What they have said is 100% accurate, if you buy a company you now own everything, so it is 'our' game in that regard.

It's an accurate statement of fact, and still not 'funny' to me.

And what, should I make something funny for you to calm you down or can have my fan without your 100% accurate take on a joke?

Anyway...

Something I’ve been thinking about since this would be my first Project CARS title.

From the car list, what cars will have KERS, DRS or any other active elements people can activate manually while driving?

I believe those manual deployment systems were supported in older games.

Possibly Formula E, Attack mode won't be fully functional since the tracks won't have the activation zone but Fanboost might work.

IndyCar has push to pass (IIRC that is not available on ovals).

I belive the Formula X and the Formula Renault/B have DRS. The Formula A had KERS but i can't remember if the Formula X did.

The LMP1s are carry over from PCars 2, all have KERS. Only the Porsche 919 has an additional exhaust gas recovery system. The Catterham SP/300.R has KERS. Many hypercars such as P1 GTR(also DRS which you control by buttons on your wheel or gamepad), La Ferrari(but you control the electric motors by throttle position) etc. just like other games that have these cars. Many complaints in PCars 2 about the La Ferrari not having enough battery so maybe they might have fixed this.

Yeah Formula X has KERS, no DRS, it's a ground effects car without wings.

For Indycar you only get push to pass on the road version, for the oval version no push to pass. If you run an Indy road car on an Oval you will be much slower even with push to pass.
