They had some left over wall from the pit entrance...

Changing topic, I'm surprised the question has not been asked yet: Have they fixed the clutch???

Buying in bulk to save money. Makes sense. :)

The cynic in me suspects they "fixed" the clutch by removing the option entirely, but I haven't heard any mention of it one way or the other myself. I've heard "it's great on controller," "it's just like PC2 on the wheel," and "it sucks with a wheel" but nothing about the clutch itself. The Dart guy from that Mustang video a couple pages back(he was one who said "it sucks with a wheel" fwiw) didn't seem to be using the clutch with his H-shifter as I recall, but that doesn't mean the option is gone.

Whats the difference between this and the recent Grid?! The Project Car series went from most anticipated game ever to one of the most disappointing releases ever in 3 titles..

GRID 2019’s biggest flaw (imo)is the lack of content, this is not something PC3 struggles with.

That's a matter of personal opinion...

Id like to see some content of it that actually appeals to me before i reserve judgement - like Clio cup/touring cars or something on the British tracks with dynamic weather. But everything theyve promoted so far on social media is just trying to appeal to the Forza/Grid crowd - its like theyve took a total u-turn on what the Project Cars series was actually about in the first place - its a really strange release.

mp and PC3 is firmly in the sim camp.

not anymore without pits, tyre wear or fuel - thats what has confused everyone.

Clio Cup isn't in the game and they haven't added any Touring Cars (Well. A real Megane TCR replaces the fake SMS one but that's it.) so it remains a pretty underwhelming class. Especially when you look at the variety of models in real life TCR.

On the Grid Series, the main problems I have with it is that there's nothing exciting to give me a reason to play it and PCARS3 is going the same way. A motorsport simulation is enough for me and seeing seemingly random cars thrown onto a track for a 5 lap race isn't interesting. And nor does it simulate motorsport. What's the point of LMP1/LMP2/GTE races when you can't do an Endurance Series managing tyres and fuel?

Think I am liking the Jesko, I prefer it's sound over the Bugatti. I like the looks more as well, never been a fan of the roundness of the Chiron.

The clutch works fine, its the gearbox synchro which was patched because "We don't want to punish those that choose to shift authentically, relative to those that don't. For better or worse, that's the design decision."

http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/sh...sue-list-Post-Patch-6-0&p=1510393#post1510393

Too many people complained the gearchange didn't work when they modeled the synchro. I can't see them going back when they have dumbed everything else down.

Up until last week, I had no idea this game was even a thing and by pure coincidence, I was in the middle of replaying Shift 2. I took one look at the career gameplay and and I knew I must have this. I'm one of those guys who love Shift 2 to this very day and I know a spiritual Shift successor when I see one. The similarities are staggering. I love that things like full race conversions and even small things like corner mastery are making a comeback to SMS.

Even the un-mastered corner icon is straight out of Shift 2.

I Pre orderded it but i have a GRID/Project Cars 2 feeling all over again from what i see now..... cant see on the streams if the graphics are okay and i also cant judge gameplay good from all the noob streamers......

I can only hope......

The career mode in F1 2020 is excellent now - all we want is Codies to do a Touring car version - is it too much to ask lol?! Pcars 3 was a perfect opportunity to get that kind of thing in - but it just seems like theyve gone for the money and the Grid/Forza crowd. As i said i'l reserve final judgement until i see more modes and what career mode is like but im just expressing my disappointment like many others. Surely you guys werent the same ones who got so hyped and excited about the original Pcars? I just cant get exicited about unlocking a different coloured racing suit...

Things I notice:
  • Sounds like an irregular start to me; remember when some were complaining about "3, 2, 1, Go!"...?
  • Water temperature is still accounted for -- apparently this was a dead cold start on the grid. :) I wonder if you can still overheat or blow the engine?
  • Headlight lighting upon other cars has changed.
  • The slide at 8:10 resembles stability control to me; something to bear in mind with how the handling looks. With the HUD tach turned off there's no other indication either way.
  • The replay looks pretty poor, honestly. Hiccups and motion-blurred to hell. I hope PCARS3 is as comprehensive with visual options as PCARS2, but I fear not based on everything else.

If I may add more on the car, R34 GTR ( stock condition in game from what I see from a few minutes of driving in cockpit view ) :

  • The tachometer and speedometer in game are from Vspec NUR, the real car tacho dial range from 1-3K RPM are shortened and smaller number on Vspec, ordinary GTR has standard tacho reading, while the 300 km/h OEM speedo available only on NUR spec models, the R34 GTR in game should only have the 180kmh speedo.
  • The peak boost pressure is WRONG in PCars 3 which only peaks at around 0.5 kg/cm2 or 7 psi ( from the video ), the real R34 GTR has stock peak boost pressure of 13.5 psi or 0.95 kg/cm2. Trivia : The R32 has 0.7 kg/cm2 or 10 psi stock boost, while the R33 has 0.84 kg/cm2 or 12 psi stock boost.
  • Launching hard from 7000RPM in first on a real stock R34 GTR should have some wheelspin even in the dry road surface with engine revving/holding for few moments at up to around 5-6000RPM as it accelerate before racing to redline ( due to how the ATTESA-ETS work ), the in game R34 do not show such behavior, this reminds me of R34 GTR from SHIFT 2. I'm not sure the ATTESA-ETS system is even modeled properly in PCars3, the 1st gear launch in game seems to show how typical AWD car launch.
  • Gear ratio seems shorter in game than the actual real car, the R34 in PCcars3 shift point/ratio is similar to R34 GTR in SHIFT 2. The real R34 GTR could hit 70kmh in 1st, 110+kmh on 2nd, 160+kmh in 3rd and should be about 7000RPM at 180kmh in 4th gear ( speed limit on speedo )
  • The front wheel torque meter on the MFD do not work, only boost meter does, is this intentional ? is it due to the ATTESA-ETS not being modeled properly ? If the front torque meter could work in game, we can see how the system simulated in game behave in sending engine torque to the front wheels, this can be useful for tuning as well as measuring how accurate the ATTESA system being modeled.
  • The car seems to understeer a lot, not sure if it's the driver or the car or both
From what I can see, it actually reminds me a lot of the SHIFT 2 R34 GTR which left much to be desired, almost 10 years on, few games later, I thought R34 GTR would have matured into more accurate rendition in Pcars3. I hope this is not a trend on other cars in game.

Yep, it’s the exact same.

Ive been back on Shift 2 to see how much PC3 has in common, next week will give me the real answer.

LOL, I have been accused of not taking the sim racing seriously enough but some I think are much too serious. :)

Really, I quit driving the game Hypercars like the P1, P1 GTR and La Ferrari when I found I could beat a professional's lap time in the real cars by 10 seconds. Just for background my hands arms and legs don't function well, use one hand/arm, automatic shift/ auto clutch which are slower, I'm not any good at driving in a sim.

To be honest i would see a career mode similar (but expanded) to original RaceDriver GRID in Project Cars. Like buying race cars, creating your own team, hiring drivers and starting in many prestige motorsport disciplines. That would fit to Project Cars 10/10 ... Unfortunately they went different route.

Well I don't know if you had time to look at all the videos but in one case a player at legendary difficulty/professional assists managed to pass all the cars in the first corner. Granted he is really good but it looks as the game might be geared more toward the less serious.

Could you explain this a little more to me REAL cars? as in? Cause i'm a little lost in what you mean. Cause in what sense are the p1,lafearrari, p1 gtr not real cars.

I'm not one to bash a game in general, especially one I haven't tried yet, but even GRID 2019's car classes made more sense.
Grid's classes made sense because they were based on something. GT4 cars raced GT4 cars in single class races. GTEs raced GTEs etc etc. They don't here which makes no sense to me.

What. An 11 second lead on lap 1 what's not to like.:)
I put that down to AI level more than car performance seeing as the other videos don't have that. In that very race, a Supercar was second on a track which had a ton of places the GT3s should absolutely destroy it.
