Wait, classic Spa & Solitude were cancelled & dlc will end in 4 months allready ?

WHAT THE **** SMS !!!!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

P-Cars is turning out to be one big SCAM. I won't buy another game just to get content that was announced & teased for the first one.

Uninstalled & goodbye SlightlyMadScammers. 👍
I've had more than my money's worth since picking the game up on launch day back in May. And because of this game I have definitely got my money's worth out of my T300 wheel, so I can't really complain. They promised things that weren't in, which does suck, especially if you bought into WMD for specific reasons, but I doubt their boardroom is full of evil plotting and cackling studio heads who are laughing as they deliberately remove features and are now focusing on pCARS2.
They should be commended for even making a game this good IMO.

Now we do definitely need a proper QA team next time, that much is paramount.

You do realise that 4 months will be a full year of DLC. That's as much as you ever get from a Forza game, and pretty standard in the industry.

I'm not sure why this is a bad thing... Loads of games don't get anywhere near that amount of DLC support....

Still doesn't give them any credit to cancell teased & announced content moving to a new game consumers have to pay full price again.

Well, I bought the game because of Historic content, and with all we know that content has been scrapped for a large amount. So there goes my spend money down the drain.

Yeah, the DLCs are great so far...and I think the coming DLC´s will be also great.

But the fact that the team was promising , we get ovals, old spa etc. for pcars1, and now its cancelled , is not the finest way to deal with the customers.....

Sorry for the repeated question but how do I access the special events on career mode? Playing for only a week and the Renault is my only paid DLC. Right now in career i only have access to the current championship. If I create a new driver still can't see the special events.

Talking about GTS having better physics than pcars, I doubt it. As a long time gt gamer I can appreciate how gt can make you believe you can actually drive a racing car a crazy speed. But going to pcars taught me how wrong I was. For the masses gt approach is more appealing.

You have to unlock special events with your results. For example, the Renault event is unlocked this way:

Unlock Criteria - Win The LMP3 UK Semi Pro Cup

Hmmm... I read Ian Bell has stated 4 months of DLC, but I didn't equate that to all support ending including bugfixes. Probably me being too naive :)

For guys who only bought pCARS for historic content and only got a single historic pack, I appreciate the pain. But at least one historic pack was delivered. I'm personally still expecting the ovals since that really was on the list of content to come: http://www.wmdportal.com/projectnews/experience-the-indianapolis-500-in-project-cars/

I also don't think we've hit the "12 locations <..> including ovals" yet, have we (nope, we've had 5):
https://www.gtplanet.net/project-ca...acks-community-liveries-and-track-expansions/

Not delivering that would really hurt SMS going forward, since it was a key part of their pCARS and would cause a lot of faith loss among their core audience. I guess they are having to make hard decisions right now due to the amount of work going into pCARS 1 fixes and DLC compared to the budget left for making pCARS 2?

You're glad you didn't fall into the investment trap of earning a handsome return on your investment?

I'm not a greedy person so a handsome return isn't really all that interesting to me, however, investing in a copy of the game and purchasing all DLC so far feels like a fairly good investment toward my entertainment bill, there's not a lot to complain in hindsight considering the dismal investment they had to work with compared to that of other games, I have had iracing, simraceway, raceroom, GT and forza, yet I play pcars,

I would have invested in pcars 2 but didn't for several reasons, here's the short list,

Pcars 2 was announced within the same week of pcars 1 release, while I was dealing with my first bout of bugs,

Pcars 2 is riding its title on a racing genre that really doesn't interest me, (rallycross)

Pcars was delayed 12 months for next gen consoles, and was delayed further again to fix things that should have been sorted in those 12 months,

No game will ever be perfect and I understand that, because if there was a perfect game out for motor racing we wouldn't be supporting different titles and that company would just continually sell us the exact same game every 2 years with updated content, which will get boring extremely quickly,

Some hope is possibly here :):

It's the same as always. It is never enough. A game will never be perfect. When consumers have more input in a product (as project cars did brilliantly) the more consumers feel the have a right to a certain quality and quantaty. It's a double-edged sword.

Project Cars is a fantastic racing game, which I often compare to Toca World Touring Cars. A lot of reallife tracks and great cars. Everyone knows TWTC is a great game, but had it come out in 2015, the same discussions would be held regarding the content. Think about that. If all your favorite racing games came out in this day and age, the same disscussions would be held.....

And yet we think the old games where the best.

I'm calling Guinness...you're the first person in the world to ever say that:lol: By the way, there is no "investing" in PCars2 because there is no return possible. You are essentially buying access to the development process, not investing.

I'm glad you clarified that otherwise Id have felt horrendously boned! Specially considering the aim of the title isn't in my interests,

Hmmm... Wonder if SMS will try a yearly release of these games... :ill:

Seems that all the goodies are in 2, but they're probably gonna pull another fast one.

Apparently it is mid 2017. Then again, apparently we were getting more historic tracks etc. It was a little too ambitious and I for one wouldn't announce content unless it was 100% guaranteed.

Despite the bugs PCars is still my favourite racing game. The experience of the actual racing for me as a console-only gamer is second to none.

I was actually thinking of picking this up during the steam winter sale, but what I've seen here is a bit... off-putting. Nonetheless, would any of you recommend the base game for the price it's at right now, or would it be better to wait until it's in the bargain bin category? For what it's worth, I'm still using a DS3.

For how much off?

So there's no custom championships coming. That's a major bummer. I couldn't see a reason given though, anyone know why it's been scrapped? In theory it doesn't sound like a huge task to implement, but what do I know?
A basic custom championship like the ones in the F1 games shouldn't be difficult to implement, but fully featured custom championships would probably be very difficult and time consuming to implement in PCars1 imo.
SMS would have to include more options for multiclass racing, option to have multiple races per weekend which then would require support for multiple qualifying sessions and/or stuff like reversed grid in the second race, different disciplines have different rulesets regarding points and weekend/championship format.
I'd be happy with a basic championship editor, so would a few other people, but there probably would be a bunch of people complaining that custom championships were half-assed and that they can't replicate real and/or career championships.

hold on a minute...... despite all the (deserved) negativity, Project CARS is still an amazing game. I paid for a full price pre-order and still think I got my moneys worth. 17 quid is a bargain, the game will definitely keep you very busy over the Christmas period and beyond, especially if you can find a good group of people to race against. ;)

This game /sim is well worth getting nothing comes close on console for the sense of real racing, the FFB and physics are top notch.

But the game still has bugs and some are here to stay I think. I would still pay full price for the game bugs and all. It's that good.

I don't really care about the DLCs I would much rather them had spent the time making the game bug free and solid, I just want to have a full room and do 30+ laps and everyone finish without any problems. Or is that to much to ask?

Aren't all those basics already in the game? You do already have multiple functioning races and qualifying sessions in career mode, multiclass racing is already possible in single race weekends. Now in custom championships you just have to make sure that all the variables aren't set completely random or according to some prescripted stuff, but according to what the player wants.

In my opinion, not that difficult to develop, or at least not that it is to complicated to bring it to Project CARS 1.

And yeah, maybe we shouldn't discuss this in the DLC thread.
