NO! NO NO NO NO NO! NO! no.

Lets not do another XB1 vs PS4 who's Genitalia is bigger comparison. We all know the differences and we all know where this debates going to end up going to. We should have talked about this half a year ago. But that was then and this is now, so lets keep things on topic.

How about all of us just get along, and realize that at the end of the day we all share one passion, and one love... Motorsport.

Hahaha.. right on! And well said.

I say let's wait and see until we can try both console versions. Doubt if there are going to be major differences, since the PS4's extra processing power is bottle-necked..

Oops, said too much already!

To be honest, all I want is a fantastic racing game. Graphics are not my priority nor will they ever be, I wanted a racing experience that I will remember and for the birth of a new IP that could revolutionize the genre. pCARS could be that game, and even if I'm playing on the 'joker' console when I boot up my Wii U, I won't care. Because all I know is that SMS wanted to bring such an experience to as many people as possible, and that I can applaud.

Oh, and if it angers people in the process that's even better.

My first thought was at the other end of the scale, with a race-prepped MX-5. :P

Yes, please.

It's interesting to see people opinions on graphics.

Imo they are very important as they help in the whole experience for me.

Re AI I can understand why people want it to be very challenging but I have no idea how hard that is as in most racing games I've played they always seem slow and unrealistic.

I am really looking forward to pC and as someone who only games on a playstation I'm not sure what to expect, but from the pC threads it looks very promising.

Will the Indy 500 thing be DLC or added in an update because it says it will be the 2015 cars? How would they get the cars in 2014?

Good AI can be done. Grid Autosport, recently released on PS3, has very fast, competitive AI. Here's a quick race to give you a little demo. Not perfect, but far better than what I'm used to on GT for example.

It's likely to be a DLC package after release, because it will include liveries from the season as well. However, as we have said in the past, it doesn't mean that it's going to be expensive, or even cost (please don't take it as gospel or quote me).

The more complex the physics are, the more difficult it will be to program competitive AI I think.
I don't think it's a coincidence that games with simplified physics seem to have better AI most of the time.

AI from Assetto Corsa is very competitive, there are some special events where the level is called Alien. It cant be that hard to program fast driving cars on an predefined line for the AI on the track. That is what they also do in AC.

The AI we´ve seen from GT and Forza are typical mainstream games where the developers want to avoid frustration. And that sucks for sim fans.

Not that hard..? Come on. Giving them a predefined race line is only one aspect of AI programming. They also have to react believably to countless scenarios, including smooth transitions from one scenario to the next, if two incidents happen closely together. A good AI is one of the hardest tasks in game programming, still.

Ok that is another aspect but what I mean is making them drive faster should not be that hard. In Gran Turismo the AI breaks way too early and throttles too late... Cant be that hard to make them brake later and go on throttle earlier in corners.

I'm sure AI is incredibly hard to program but in some ways PCars should have a bit of an edge here. IIRC cars are not coming with a wide range of tires to that's one variable that's out. The car selection isn't massive as it is in GT and Forza and most of the cars are performance type cars not oddball streetcars that might be more difficult to program.

Of course you have to balance that against a huge track selection and a relatively smaller dev team and budget. I don't expect miracles at launch but I do hope if the game is relatively successful, it's something they focus attention on and update accordingly before PCars2 releases.

I'm also hoping they retain the community focus present during the development of the game and if need be, use us as a test subject when problems arise or physics adjustments need to be made..or other stuff.

Never played AC, so I didn't know :)
It's definitely not impossible, just more difficult (if the AI uses the same complicated physics). AI can be made fast in any game with simpler physics, but it needs to come across in a natural way.

I guess AI is a crucial part of the equation. Though my main concern is how cars react to my inputs and how they sound when put under stress. :mischievous:

They've already nailed the visuals quite nicely.

OMG, I hope this is what I think it is.

Here is what SMS posted on their twitter 20 hours (from this post) ago.

"“@Sharnley_: Can we have a rough idea how many LM24 racers there will be in the game at release?” <- A full car list will appear in time ;-)"

I understand your excitement, but remember to use full sentences and grammar when posting, per the AUP

Well, here comes my embarrassment haha. My bad

via their facebook page:
You can create your own livery and share it... (PC only on release)

I really hope that we will be able to on Consoles at some point... If not then I'll be thoroughly disappointed (via league racing)

I don't get it. What's to get excited about? Wasn't it obvious that a full car list would come at some point?

Does that mean that only the PC can create liveries and share? Or can consoles create liveries, but only PC can share them? Kind of vague, but if I can't create a livery on a console, that'd swing me over to PC I guess.
