If some want to call it Shift 3, a new and vastly improved Shift 2, that's fine with me. There was a lot I liked with Shift 2 and the things I didn't have been corrected and improved. Shift 2 brought an immersion level to virtual racing that I didn't find in any racing game going back to the early days of PC's. The physics and FFB are without a doubt nothing like Shift 2, end of story. SMS is on the right track, it will be fun to continue the ride as it is polished and improved. Another welcomed edition for my vast virtual racing library, now back to some laps in rFactor 2, GSCE, and Forza Horizon 2 for today.

sometimes i really hope everybody had access to WMD forum, i believe that most of the people that bash pCars never read it, because they often are SO wrong that i can't even take them seriously. The game still has some flaws here and there, and some cars still doesn't feel right, but even then you can still percieve it's a sim, is more like driving a bad rFactor mod than a codemasters game.
And i have to say that every time i play another sim after pCars, it feels very "old gen" (i don't have iRacing and rFactor2, but play rFactor1, AC, GTR2, GTL, RBR, GSCE and also some arcade ones), can't really explain why but in all other sims if i know quite good the car/track combo i can make the same laptime lap after lap, but can't really see where i can improve it, in pCars i can always feel the "i wasn't on the limit in this corner" sensation and know where to focus to get better

Are you sure you're not the guy that wrote the article?

"Haven't followed the development of the game for months, I tried the latest build and it's horrible. Very unrealistic cornering speeds and grip. Dis game sucks, AC ftw."

"Mate, the latest build nerfed the grip on every car, patch is on the way"

"Even though its a known issue and about to be patched and my article therefore is not representative of the game at all, I'm still right because AC is better so I'm just going to leave the article as is. Dis game sucks."

That's a troll by any definition. I don't see how anyone can take him seriously in the slightest. The second he found out the build was nerfed he should have withdrawn the article. Obvious troll is obvious.

Nope I wish I had an Pcars account. Why would I? I wish and want that Pcars will be the best sim out there. Still I dont see it coming.

As always, there are people who do not want to see any mistakes of the project and some that cannot see a good thing in this project. But in this article you posted, the author is not just very negative, there are also false informations he writes as facts (e.g. game is aimed as simcade racer or 30fps on consoles). With this, I cannot take him serious.

It was not mainly the article or the topic of the thread I posted that I was forcing to but more the comments after that who agree with him.

But now I stop discussing and swim with the tide.

The lack of trust in SMS and us is really getting on my nerves! :banghead:
Its the nature of free speech, idiots and the malicious are free to air their opinings too. So just to offer balance, last night I pre-ordered my LE copy of PCars as I love what I see about it. And I'm a big boy now so if I made a mistake I won't repeat it.

I think that pretty much sums up Project CARS' situation:

If we already started a Shift 3 conversation, here is some reading stuff. I know the OP tested some bugged build. Still many opinions but I read the word Arcade more and more. The choice to release this game on Next Gen impacted the physics I guess. Arcade games sell better for sure. And SMS smelled the big money.

And there is also the fact that investors (WMD members) will get paid back if the game sells good. So maybe some of them dont tell the truth about the game only because they want some money back for their investment.

I´ve read that SMS ignores more and more opinions and threads in the WMD forum and closes them. They got totaly focused on consoles.

Just some speculations from me, don´t freak out. But one is sure, I was extremely hyped but the more I read about physics, the more I think I´ll wait 2-3 weeks after release to see what others say. I remember how people recommended Shift2 and how great it is and the physics are awesome. And then I bought it and played it for 10 mins. Since then the Disc was never in the PS3 again.

Ok, then give up! It's easy. If you think the game is arcade, ok. Go on playing GT.

What is the point in coming back here, always raising the same points?

Psh if someone wants to call it shift 3, let them. Let's not forget the hype that destiny was not able to life up to. If we allow people to blindly call it shift 3, this will lower their expectations. when the game comes out and blows their minds, expectations shattered.

True we get money if the game sells well. We are also the ones who want it to be a sim though. We also made some desicions that SMS had no part in the final decision such as the choice to go to next gen.
Also. Can you explain the physics bit to me? I am a bit confused. How can a choice to release on a more powerful system make the physics worse?

No not really. The devs are always responding to things.

Ok,
So, I would like to make a couple of obsevations without everyone going nuts like I just called their first born ugly.

I have preordered PCARS and want it to be a great game like most people here, but I will always state the truth and try to be as unbiased as I can. I think people should realize that it’s ok to point out the things that are not perfect, maybe there is still time to fix some of them instead of pretending they don’t exist.

These are not major items but I was watching this video marked as "Build 821" and these things still show up:

1). Side View Mirrors Flapping around like doggy ears: Someone Please Tell Me They Are Going To Take That Out!!!!
2). The Carbon Fiber In Motorsports are normally High Gloss, In PCARS It Always Looks textured and Dull: Is that going to Change???

Again, I am hoping for the best Game Ever so please don’t take this as a knock, it would just be nice to have it that much more perfect.

Lol you guys make me laugh all the time, really. In not one single word I wrote that Pcars is bad, physics are bad or something else is bad. Because I dont have the game so I cant say anything about it. I just share opinions of others and my impressions from videos to discuss it and maybe hear from you here that the physics are not Arcade and he is wrong. Or just hear other opinions. But with blody fanboys this is impossible to talk about the bad things. Some of you get personal, call me troll, idiot, conspiracy theorist and whatever.

When even people like @IMZ14U2NV have to excuse themself before they have the courage to ask something about some negative parts of the game this is strange.

But I see, I have to move on to other communities with more grown people who can talk about stuff without getting personal.

It is not the system that makes the physics worse but the target audience. It is a difference to make a game just for hardcore PC sim fans or to make a game accessable for a big range of people on consoles. In an other forum they talked about this (in a normal conversation, not bashing like here) that the game started with the focus on an hardcore sim but gets more and more an Simcade that targets arcade gamers too. So lets see how SMS will find a compromise to satisfy all groups.

No not really. The devs are always responding to things.

Some guy on an other forum was talking about that he made a thread in the WMD forum about multiplayer and some points that could get implemented. Stuff like Rating systems and driver profiles. His thread got closed immediately. So he wrote there that SMS is focusing totaly on Next-Gen at the moment and forgot the real PC gamers/investors who made this game possible. Because they ignore more and more important stuff he said. Still no Tripple Screen support and he said that multiplayer is a mess at the moment. So I was just regiving his opinion.

Because we like the game and defending it, we are fanboys?

Well, I would say that you are concern trolling. You always talk about how you are concern about the physics and how there is comments everywhere about Project CARS being arcade. No matter how much time we say that it is a sim, you're always comming back with your concern. Oh, yeah, I forgot, you won't believe us because we are fanboys and liars that just want to make the game arcade to make money.:lol::irked::banghead:

He doesn't have to...

Oh, so now, we are immature fanboys who also lie, and it is us that are getting personal with you... stop playing the victim...

Sure, that is why there is the novice mode, but there is still the pro mode.

That is not true. (but you won't trust me )

So he wrote there that SMS is focusing totaly on Next-Gen at the moment

Maybe because the next-gen versions have to be ready before the pc version.

d forgot the real PC gamers/investors who made this game possible.

That is again not true... (and you will still not trust me )

Because they ignore more and more important stuff he said. Still no Tripple Screen support and he said that multiplayer is a mess at the moment. So I was just regiving his opinion.

They ignore more stuff because they have to bloody finish the game.

On console too? I heard a rumour you have to pat your head and rub your tummy to make liveries apear on the cars?

No, its actually the other way around. Sorry, dont think there is a way to create your own liveries on consoles, as of now. No idea if its planned to come in an update or not.

Tell your friend Robert Gerke to say hi from me. He has an extraordinary talent to create threads in a tone that get on everybodys nerves because of how he writes them. Including a lot of !!!!!!!!!!!!!, wrong accusations and bolded stuff that he thinks is important but everybody knows anyway. As an artist myself, I cringe everytime I see a post of his and would have banned him a long time ago because no matter how often he gets told to stop his drama queen behaviour, he repeats it ad nausea.

In some ways, he reminds me of you. Coming in here, calling people fanboys, liars and then expect them to discuss with you normally. You seem unaware of how you come across yourself, dude.

1). Side View Mirrors Flapping around like doggy ears: Someone Please Tell Me They Are Going To Take That Out!!!!
2). The Carbon Fiber In Motorsports are normally High Gloss, In PCARS It Always Looks textured and Dull: Is that going to Change???

1) There is a thread about it at WMD and some high level physics talk about this. In short summary, IIRC they look especially funky at certain fps rates because they wobble at a fix frequency. There is a lot of dislike for the way they can look, though. So it is on the devs list, I assume (havent followed the thread that closely recently since it went over my head pretty soon :D ).

2) There is some glossy CF and some matte. The splitters of the LMP cars for example were even a bit too glossy before it got toned down. Also CF can be part of a livery with a matte spec file.

In regards to liveries for console, if anyone remember playing PES and have to load all those custom logos and shirts for unlicensed teams? Not sure if PS4/XB1 have similar function to load these files in the system to allow gamers to import PNG files.

If custom liveries gets much attention and request from console gamers and haven't yet got implemented, there's no reason why it couldn't be implemented in future updates by SMS.

I'd be one who surely wish they will have custom liveries for consoles version as well not just because we can then add back some of real liveries for some of the cars but also real custom ones which will take virtual team racing to a whole new level.

Yeah yeah yeah PC version gets this out of the box and possibly mods support as well, give us console gamers a break now, cut us some slack, you wealthy, dedicated, fortunate few  !!

People seem to think the difficulties use different handling models, but the only thing that changes is the number of assists.
it seemed to be the easiest way to put it across.
i felt it needed to be posted due to the worrying increase in distrust. The only thing we can do is be as transparent as possible.

Is it an increase in distrust or simply that because release is approaching we now get an influx of those strange "but my preferred game is better and I must prove it" types in what was before simply an informative thread?

I guess some people have been hyping themselves up on the idea that pCARS will contain every niche simracer desire, the best graphics and physics ever, every car and track there is, etc.... Those people need to get a grip, gain some perspective, and understand that pCARS developers (just like every game dev ever), have to make choices, will limit things, will cut out some of the current beta content based on licensing costs, might not get everything on the list done in time for release, etc...

... Since we can rely on a small but vocal part of the sim racing community to fail this, we have to accept a spam of cringeworthy posts during the next two months. That's just life :)

i think its also the increasing amount of broken releases or mediocre games having large marketing budgets to hide these issues.
take for instance the graphics most of the trailers are made by jonz or a few other very talented members but there pcs can play 4k and they can get enough fps to get the slomotion sections. whereas most of our pcs are 1080 or 1440 outputs these trailer look amazing because the graphics are good but those that only watch the trailers end up being disappointed.
