Well, as you can see, it is not licensed yet. Whether it will come, we dont know as SMS cant share infos about ongoing licensing negotiations (if there are). All we know is that the Holden was requested often by WMD members, so SMS probably got the message.

I guess you don't play GT6. There's a Ford Falcon in it. Not a V8 fan so I'm not sure if this is a V8 in GT6. Someone might be able to confirm.

I have played gt6 I've put nearly 100hours into it until I lost my save and haven't played much since. But yeah the ford falcon In it I have driven it but the last V8 Supercars Australia game was on ps2 where you could do a full championship series with all the drivers. There hasn't been a racing game that has featured ford vs holden for a long time

Except for Forza. Forza 4 had the 2011 gen Falcon and Commodore with 5 liveries per car (since it launched in 2011). Forza 5 has the 2013 versions I believe, and also has Bathurst.

Check Forzacentral car lists for exact details.

And if you have a PC you can always pick up rFactor and the V8 Supercars mod for it which has every car in the 2010 / 2011 season. Plus there are lots of tracks, like Bathurst, Queensland Raceway, Lakeside, Eastern Creek etc. I use this and the sounds are unbelievable! I can make a video of it if you are interested.

Asked this on VM earlier but may as well do so here; how does the controller handling feel compared to Forza Motorsport 4?
I don't know but I hope the release will be better than this:
I have a wheel and like using it but it can be a pain to setup and I put it back in the closet if I am not playing for a few days. The problem with this is when I want a few quick laps I have to use a controller(360 pad in case it matters) and the controller controls are horrid. Just really ****ing bad.

:scared:

Forgive me if this has already been asked / clarified but will we have control over headlights , will we manually turn them on when darkness falls or it rains or is it automatic ? Do we have the option of high and low beam also ?
Any videos showing this ?

A video would be cool! Thanks :)

So for various reasons (mainly family commitments) I hadn't tried pCars for quite a few months.
I'll be honest also in saying that at times I was quite despondent with it, the more detail and tweaks added the worse the game became performance wise on my PC.

Take my go to track, Bathurst for example and the section just after turn two and before the cutting was a stuttering mess especially with the sun shining through the trees.
The AI was also atrocious and you could guarantee a mass pile up on the top of the mountain every race. Sure I had read optimisation etc etc was coming but I was genuinely starting to wonder if pCars would live up to it's promise.

Fast forward to last night, I had a couple of spare hours and decided to give it a go.
Wow, just wow. What a massive improvement, sure not perfect yet but the improvements are huge. Graphically the smoothness is back with all the extra detail of the track included. The AI is also hugely improved, once tweaking them to my skill level I enjoyed a few 10 lap races in various cars immensely.

Being far from an expert on physics all I can say is that it just feels a lot more natural now. Lose the back and it just feels right to catch it compared to many of the earlier builds. FFB seems to be coming along very well also.

As someone who in general is starting to lose some interest in gaming in all I can say is that I can feel confident that come release day I'll be a happy chappy on the gaming front again.

Roll on release day.

Are you in Australia? I preordered the LE from JB Hifi, it's not that much more expensive

I pre-ordered from mightyape.com.au and it was 75 AUD for the limited edition.

That'll learn me for not putting where I am. I'm in the UK. I was going to pass on the LE as it was £15 more expensive but then I realised just how much work people have put in, in the company and in the gaming world at large, and thought to myself I owe it to them to pay the extra :)

@Soulfresh_ACV you will have to add 4.99 or 4.50 (can't remember how much) for shipping. Any way good luck, I already got a game from them and it was all done without any issues. Also they have the ANZ edition unlike another website that had it real cheap but it was the NTSC version. Happy racing.

I'd ordered via JB HiFi. @Punknoodle Do you think that we'll get a refund for the difference or should we cancel and order from mightyape.com.au instead?
Because I'm paying by Debit card I don't actually get charged until they send it out, meaning I'll only get charged the correct amount.

@ankehuber No worries about the video mate when I get a chance I'll do a ShadowPlay recording of a replay or something. I'll let you know.

Maybe you can still order it from Australia? DLCs would work right?..

Any way same here, I ordered the LE just as a way to say thank you.

Do you guys will get it for console? Or why is everybody freaking out because of preorder? I´ll buy it on steam at the release date.

I've ordered mine for the Bone and don't worry no one is freaking out, people are just trying to find better deals that's all.

It will be interesting to hear everyone's opinion now that they removed the WMD login from in game so that now everyone has acess to the same content.

For people who are WMD members and have been in the know, could I ask a few questions (sorry if these have been answered already):

For the console versions, are they going to bring the same handling model over from the PC (with optional assists), or will they choose/need to dumb it down?

How scalable is the AI difficulty, and (for the experts amongst y'all) how tough is it at the hardest difficulty? And again for the console versions do you know if they intend to dumb down/restrict AI difficulty?

For the career mode, will different teams in a series have different levels of performance?

I know these are specific questions so no worries if no one knows the answers to them yet. Cheers guys.

1.Its the same
2. he scales 0-100 but at 95 its often quicker than me
3. not quite sure yet.

The handling model will be exactly the same on the console as it is on the PC. On the XBox360/PS3 (when it was viable), there was a discussion to have a more simplified version of the tyre model, simply because the consoles were not powerful enough to run such a detailed model with AI and so on. However, with the new consoles, this is no longer a worry.

AI will remain at the same level on the console versions as in the PC version. The devs wouldn't program two different versions of the AI, because it's just enough work to get one set working as they'd like. I can't see them restricting AI difficulty on the consoles compared to the PC, but I guess time will tell. In basic terms, the AI has a slider from 0-100%. 100% are very, very hard. As an average driver, around 65-70% is enough to provide me with a challenge.

For the career mode, will different teams in a series have different levels of performance?

There was a lot of discussion about the how differing teams should be represented on track, and the consensus being that there should be small differences between performance, reliability and set up of cars between the teams. Whether or not this will be implemented I haven't seen, because there are just sooooo many threads active on the forums. Maybe FLX or DrJustice can clarify or elaborate further.

Thanks muchly for the quick response guys! tbh after reading about the career mode (FINALLY a proper career mode in a racing game!) it was already a system-seller for me, but getting those last worries addressed pretty much seals the deal. Really the only other thing SMS need to do to satisfy me now is have no bugs that'll set the console on fire :P

That's great that they can and will put the PC gameplay straight over to console. Hopefully it will not hurt them in reviews - some eejits going "it's too hard on hard difficulty so you can't win everything/get all achievements what a design flaw wehhhhhh" etc.

I´ve seen many videos where it starts to rain but never have seen that the AI or the driver himself did change the tyres. Are there no wet/intermediate tyres? Or why is everybody still driving the same tyres when rain starts?
