I read last night on the Steam PCars forum that the Steam version is the limited edition even though it doesn't state two different versions available for purchase. I read that the 5 bonus LE cars are included in the Steam version. There may not be a hard copy LE version with the extras but I don't care about that honestly.

Indeed, the Steam Digital Edition does include both LE car pack and Modified car pack if you pre-purchase it (which I did)... so at least for those getting the game for PC, it's pretty much guaranteed you'll have LE digital contents included with your copy, regardless of where you live...

Its a real shame that the US is not getting the limited edition. With as long as I've been following this game not only am I willing to contribute but would have really liked to have the cool metal case and the book. This has been an incredible journey following the making of this beautiful piece of software that we have all grown to love. But I will settle for the cars that come with the LE edition and the modified car pack. Will these extra rides come as a dlc? Guess will find out in April. I want to thank all the wmd guys out there for all your input and time you have taken to satisfy all of are questions. You guys rock! Peace my friends

I have a theory about the LE Edition in the U.S/Canada. Here it is, no offense to Americans...or us Canucks for that matter. Assetto Corsa is a popular sim right? The user base should attract relatively the same kinds of sim racers that will be playing Project Cars correct? Both games should appeal to a similar audience.

Here's a link to the most popular combination, Spa + Ferrari GT2

Scroll through the entry list, paying attention to the flags on the left and what do you notice?

1st page - 3/50 Canada + USA
2nd page - 1/50 Canadian only
5th page - 0/50

That's just a random sample of one leaderboard, but in other leaderboards I've looked at the trend seems the same. Admittedly some have no flag with just a globe beside their name, but it isn't many and I have no reason to believe they would disproportionately be from Canada or the US of A. 5/281 is less than 2% of the user base. If that carries over into Project Cars, it's no wonder there's no hardcopy LE edition here

I think Bandai and SMS will attack the NA market full force once the Ovals, the Indycar and Ford Fusion stock car have been released.

They should at least make the LE available via digital in NA. That way, they're no extra production costs but everyone wins! I, for one, would buy it.

The LE is available in NA. If you buy now on Steam you get the LE car pack. Unless you mean all of the other special things like the special case and book, which would be pointless if digital.

This is straight from Steam. If you purchase the game on Steam today, you get the LE Car Pack...

If someone in NA really REALLY wants the steelcase and book, I'm sure someone on eBay will sell them to you. You were able to do so with the GT5 and GT6 special editions.

That's great for PC players but I play on Playstation. I'm sure the cars will be sold separately as DLC Post release anyway so no biggie

PSN packages havent been decided yet. It is well possible that a preorder package for PCars -including the 5 cars- will appear in the PSN Store 2-3 weeks before release.

I am interested to see how well the consoles support and promote this game.
Obviously, the most players will be on PC for the game but I think there's a sizable market on consoles, particularly on Playstation because as much as I love Driveclub, there's no sim for us right now. It'll sell well with or without a market push imho.

Having the PS4 LE selling out twice here in the UK, I would say there's going to be a lot of players on PS4 come release. I know how excited I am for release, and there's a number of members on my community site that are just as ready. Even ones without a PS4 yet are keeping a close eye on the game and what it's like. I'm sure many of these members will be buying a PS4 in the not too distant future if the game is as good as people are saying.

The biggest stumbling block for console racers is the wheel compatibility. If Logitech wheels were compatible, I know most people would run out and buy a PS4 tomorrow.

I don't know if your numbers lead to an answer, lets compare two countries - US and UK (home base of SMS), the first page has 5 UK 3 US, the second has 1 UK no US. There very well may be fewer US AC gamers, I just wouldn't use the popular combination live timings to make this assumption.

Compared to consoles, PC is actually a niche market and super fragmented. Thats why the whole marketing spin is 100% geared towards the consoles. Kunos, Sector 3 and ISI are pretty much sitting on their hands and are keeping a close eye on how SMS will be doing with this unprecedented experiment.

I don't think so. I think, if well supported and marketed by both the consoles and SMS, this game should do better on console than PC. If only because there are more console gamers than PC gamers.

Most gamers use the controller and have a console. This game will be available to the broadest possible audience. It is less niche than Codemasters F1. I think it could do reasonably well. If there are pCars discs on the shelves at WalMart, they'll sell.

I don't see any implication why NA console owners wouldn't get these bonus contents. Just be patient and look at the PSN/XBL Store Front in the next weeks.

On this point, I think all of these wheels will magically be compatible once GT Academy for the PS4 hits, likely this Summer. I could be flat wrong and this is calculated speculation. But Sony and PDI have a lot to gain (and lose) in that.

Even if that is the case, that's not going to be this year. Nissan are going to want/demand the biggest user base, and that's on PS3.

AFAIR, there has never been any official statement by Sony, Logitech, Evolution Studios or SMS that Logitech compatibility will never happen. This statement surely would have emerged at one point if that was actually the case.

There is no reason they cannot do GTA on both the PS4 and PS3. I look for them to use the GTA on PS4 and the "demo", similar to how they did GTA as the demo for GT6.
As I said, I may be completely off base. This is simply calculated speculation. But it would make too much sense for them not to.

It really all depends on their timeline and how quickly they want GT7 on the PS4. For them financially, the sooner the better.

you guys are probably right. I assumed that the game's birthplace would have the most players
