WMD people says there'll be multiclass racing, but that last carrer tier, where you see LMP1, is a LMP1 only championship.

Some Poliphony-esque design decision, if you ask me.
For Poliphony-esque grids they would have to put in a rally car, some touring cars and a pikes peak hillclimber so it's not that silly yet

Shame though, multiclass racing should be featured for GT's and LMP's just like in real life... so when you are in GT you have the extra challenge of watching your mirrors, and in LMP you have to avoid the backmarkers. Not that difficult to implement neither...

Will the LM24 atleast be multi class?
Please say it will WMD members :scared:

I just did a multi class career race in the European Endurance Championship at Silverstone, or actually an AI did it for me... :embarrassed:

Some of the entrants were:
- Audi R8 LMS Ultra
- RWD P20 LMP2
- Aston Martin Vantage GT4
- RWD P30 LMP1
- McLaren 12C GT3
- Ford Mustang Boss302R1
- Ruf RGT-8 GT3
- BMW M3 GT4

The thing that really impressed me was riding shotgun with the AI. It did not maneuver incompetently and made text book overtakes. Far better than I remember it from a bit back; it's quite 'human'. These algorithmic opponents have learnt a thing or two about racing lately :)

Hey guys if you're able/allowed to answer I got a few questions about some of the smaller aspects of the game? (I'll be using the PS4 version)
•What are the controls on the DS4 and can we change them?
•Can we customize our driver' outfit like we can in GT?
•Roughly how many WMD created liveries are there and are they all available to use outside of driving for a specific team in career mode?
•Can we turn vehicle damage on and off in at any time in career mode or at all?
•What motivation is there to pick a certain team besides a car, series, or livery?
•Are contracts annual or do I have to play multiple seasons in a certain discipline in order to move on?

Since the last fw update it is possible to change the button layout for every game from the ps4 ui.
It's called "button assignment"! Go to "settings" > "accessibility"!

Quote from someone I know regarding the process of the game:

"My buddies and I put on PCars last night FOR THE FIRST TIME in weeks and ran a bunch of races. I've never had more fun driving in a racing game. Whatever they've done behind the scenes has been working magic. The cars handle way better than they used to, and they feel proper (grip feels right, sliding feels right etc.). The AI is surprisingly good and they drive a bunch of different lines --- and are not without making mistakes.

One of the biggest things for me (coming from GT/Forza) is that you can feel the weight in the car, and most importantly you can bump/rub/hit cars lightly without immediately skating off the track as if your car broke all traction with the world. You can bump into a car you're racing and unless you push the issue neither car is going to magically spin out. Now this may not be the case for certain cars with less traction, but you can race really CLOSEwithout the fear of "if I touch another car I'm out of the race". I had genuinely good racing with my buddies and the AI. Some good 3-4 lap runs against an AI driver...back and forth etc.

I'll also mention this was played with an Xbox CONTROLLER (couldn't be assed to pull out the wheel stand) so the Xbox One and PS4 versions should be very enjoyable. I'm plugging in the wheel tonight though. :) "

what preset did you use with the controller btw? I like mode 2 :) (mode 3 is default)

I think he quoted someone (hence the quotation marks). I found the original post, but I won't put the link here since he shows some internal screenshots (and it is probably why TheMinority didn't put the link here).

- There are different driver outfits and even templates, but currently no way to change/select your driver outfit (yeah, the UI has its weaknesses). :(
- How many liveries for a car are made by WMD members varies per car. There are some with zero WMD liveries because we re not allowed to paint them (McLarens for example), others have some real world liveries and 10-15 WMD liveries (BMW Z4 GT3 for example), others have the full livery set created by WMD (the fictional cars or the Ginettas for example).
- You can turn vehicle damage on/off in the options menu and it will be on/off in all single player modes. You will have to save your career and exit to the main menu to change it though and then resume your career again (see my point about UI weaknesses). :boggled:
- About the motivation, I m not sure to be honest. Dont think that there are performance differences, but I might be mistaken. Oh wait, the goals for a season are different. Besides that, I dont know.
- Contracts are annual only.

You are making us all with no access to WMD and pre-release versions of the game, very happy. Thank you.

Any news on pre-order availability on Xbox Live? It only shows coming soon.
I don't think you will be able to pre-order it until the final release date has been announced. If they are planning to release it mid-May, we should have a release date 3 or 4 weeks before that (time required for games to go gold).

MUSIC TO MY EARS!!!! Forza 5 was just the worst when racing online, The slightest little taps sent you off spinning! So frustrating and such awful physics!

Can somebody enlighten me. What's up with the hand animations on the wheel where the driver lifts one hand off on tight turns? Never seen it done before this game. Is this a technique practiced by race car drivers?

Can anyone at WMD maybe ask this question. On the wheel on for consoles. Will we be able to program duplicate buttons. (Example, on the Trustmaster TX458 for X1 there are 3 A buttons, 2 RB's, 2 LB's, 2 Menu's, 2 Views) I ask because it seems PS wheels will not have this problem because they have the extra buttons mapped to L3 and R3.

Another example is the TM28. It has 2 A buttons and 2 sets of Menu and Views for X1.

My question is, will we be able to map these button separately in game?

Yes, I'm using my newly aquired TX with the GTE rim and I'm mapping all the buttons (even if there are multiple labeled A). The game recognized each button as unique. The only problem I could see could be the Xbox button. Right now I'm using it as R3, but on actual console it may just throw you back to home screen.
