I think what Andy means by the slider is an option to choose between two AA options, one that the game currently has, and one that shimmers in the background, but doesn't ghost. There are going to be artifacts with either method, and it is down to the instruction set within the GPU that has caused this. The reason it is not apparent on the XBone is because they obviously have a different AA system, ie one that works.

Or how about the option of choosing between 2 different types of AA, one without the ghosting side effect, & one with the side effect & the promised UI Slider?

That should keep everyone happy!

as this game is all about options, i wouldnt mind!

He said, "It's a side effect of the way we do AA on PS4...", not the way the PS4 does it. So, is there a different way it could be done that would result in great AA but no ghosting?

Not at 60fps apparently. Going to be interesting to see how PD handles this in GT7. GT5/6 has also an option to choose between smooth and crisp.
So it's ghosting, 30FPS or not as great AA we have to choose from.

Most probably suffer from jaggies around thin objects. This problem is especially affecting racing games. DC apparently uses a different approach, but they have a 100% more time to calculate AA because of 30fps.
there are still jaggies in Driveclub so i don't think it'll ever be eliminated on consoles.

Gotta say how great it is the way that SMS are responding to this minor issue. There are always gonna be teething problems with a project as vast in scope as this one, but the way a company handles it is what makes one stand above another. Respect.

a question about the pit engineer: does he give you information on rival cars that have dropped out of the race? or who has pitted? or if there is an accident up ahead? i used to like that kind of thing in an old F1 game i used to play. or does he just give info on how the player is doing? and why did i say i had one question and then ask loads? :D

That would be VERY in depth. GTR2 only told you when you were in a sector that had a yellow flag or if there was a full course yellow, but that was a LONG time ago. What F1 game gave you info on AI cars?

Of course they had a reason to do it. I'm really surprised at how many people thought that they were too blind to see it or didn't care about it.
i think it's funny everyone is saying the xbox one version has better motion blur when no one has seen the final product yet. or have they? the video posted on VVV the other day clearly wasn't build code. perhaps historically xbox handles blur better?

The Stig will tell you about things that directly concern you. Damage on your Car, Pit In Prompts, Pressure from behind....
Crashes in front of you are indicated by a yellow flag.

i think it was on Gamecube. sorry can't remember which one. the engineer used to tell you that someone is out of the race. that kind of thing.

edit: perhaps F1 2002? it was when EA made those games.

Especially if you run 100% sessions. Load times on all the new gen games have been on the longer side. But when you're spending so much time on track, it's almost a non factor. I say almost - I can already hear (see?) the reviews condemning a lack of rewind as a frustrating factor for the impatient that will restart a race every time they mess up rather than push on.

The GTA5 Single player load times are pretty quick compared to other next-gen games.

tease tease tease...

The motion blur on Xbone does not have the ghosting effect hence it looks better in motion, However the Xbone version is a bit more jaggy, Clearly visible on the Eurogamer screens and expect it to be the same come DF comparison unless they made major strides with the AA on Xbone for final release.

sure! im at work. could take it home today but... i will wait till the LE arrives on thursday! patience young padawan, i said to myself! champions league tonight anyway... and tomorow too! :D

Right. I doubt it'll happen as I haven't seen it in any videos I've seen.

Can anyone please link me to the multiplay lobby options. I swear I've seen them posted somewhere here but for the life of me I cant find them and I don't want to start a new thread.

Thanks

No, unfortunately the pit engineer isnt that sophisticated, as of now. Hopefully he will be improved after release.
I've seen he comments on overtaking, how to take corners etc. Is there a way to turn that part off? Would like it to just be about the car and other stuff about the race.
