Can someone explain the pit strategy with regards to fuel loads?

When you try to alter your pit strategy, it seems to show only how many liters you refuel during your pit stop. I haven't found no indication at which lap you are supposed to pit, nor how many liters of fuel you start with so I seems a bit weird to me, and makes me a tad confused as to how to plan everything.

Duly appreciated 👍

It's Sunday finally I have some time to play more Project CARS. Yesterday before work I only played in a sunny dry road environment so far on the Azure Coast. Crikey damage is extreme on this game it's scary. Hit a post on the road or some other blockade and it took off my rear right wheel , ughhhh wasn't expecting that!

So I turned the realism features off for now until I can get used to the handling of this game. Can anyone recommend a nice car to drive. So far I've only driven the Caterham Seven and the Ford Escort testing out the controls and visuals settings etc.. I haven't done any races yet. Was doing what SMS recommended which was to have a relaxing drive free practice run on the coastal roads first.

I'm trying to drive slow to fast cars to keep the "something to look forward to" factor at bay. Even with Miths settings you still have to be careful on the steering as I noticed turn too much or too suddenly the car tends to twitch and veer to said direction. The feel with Miths settings is better than default but it doesn't cure the twitchy feel of steering only lessens it to a degree, which I'm grateful for. So far exploring the settings myself haven't found any setting that can cure it.

Starting fuel is in the tuning menu, but I do think we need options to turn off refuelling on stops or set a certain number of litres to put in the car, I've had time where I've only needed a few to get to the end but if you don't catch it you end up filling the tank to the top.

Fuel warning light will come on when you've got a couple of laps left :) I found a good test to work it out is to stick 10 litres (or whatever the unit is) in and run some hot laps to see how long it lasts, then you can begin to work out how many laps you'll get out of a full tank.

So the pit menu shows the amount that will be refueled, and for the starting fuel i have to look in the tuning menu (must have looked over that). Where can I see at which lap i need to make my pitstop? Thanks for the help by the way 👍

I'm not sure on the lap, I think it's a case of pitting when you know you need to. I would have thought the pit strategies would be more dynamic so they will give you an estimation of tyre life etc. I haven't managed to shred a set of tyres yet though i've noticed they do seem to drop off after a while.

Yes the simulation is there, yet the necessary information to plan things seems to fall a bit short.

I also asked this in another thread, do you know if tire wear is scaled, so if for example you scale a 3 hour endurance race to 1 hour, tire wear will be 3 times as fast? Hope not actually.

Meanwhile for us in North America

Not too sure if I'm honest, from what I've found it seems to take a lap to get the tyres warm regardless of the scaling so I would image that it doesn't change (I am pretty bad at warming them up though.)

I'm pretty sure tire wear is only affected by your settings under gameplay options, which gives you an option to go up to 7x tire wear. The race length shouldn't affect it

They had the copies though!
I tried twice. Once with RIDE, then with pCARS. They're very strict with regards to breaking release dates. A good thing I suppose, but it does suck for us nonetheless.

:P

I've just completed my First Championship in the German GT3 RUF series , I finished 5th overall and have to say that even experiencing a few minor bugs it's hands down the greatest racing experience I've ever had .
Having invested in a T300 and wheel stand for my PS4 I was hoping it would be great and it sure is so far . As for the visual issues on PS4 I barely notice them . So well done to all you guys and girls that helped to create this game .

I can safely say i think im in love with this game, Easily the best £700 odd pound i've ever spent in buying it along with a the cockpit, t300 & t3pa

What platform are you running on??, What have you played prior to PCARS??
I'm asking because I also invested $$$ to be able to play PCARS on PS4, Hope I can say the same.

All Purchased for PCARS:
Thrustmaster T300 RS
TM Leather 28 GT Wheel Add-On
Thrustmaster T3PA-PRO
PCARS for PS4 (waiting as this is a US pre-order)
PCARS Limited Edition for PS4 (waiting as this was ordered from Game.ca.uk as I really want the Limited Edition Metal Box and Book)

Again, I hope I don't get disappointed, so far the only thing that is worrying me is the PS4 soft graphics compared to the XBONE.

PS4, I've came from Forza 5, Horizon 2 and DC with the pads, Before that GT with DFGT. The graphics are a bit annoying but because they are soft you very rarely see any jaggies which was my biggest issue with Forza 5 graphics. Once driving you dont notice the blurriness too much but if someone is watching you it's basically all they notice!

You wont be disappointed! Gameplay wise it wipes the floor with any other console racer i've played tbh! :gtpflag:

watching Motorsport UK at the mo; Renault Clio Cup at Brands Hatch followed by Ginetta GT4 Supercup. looks great and pretty good timing with the game just coming out. makes me want to play more than watch though for sure!

The clio sounds in game are very true to life. Quite impressive!

I have a question.

Obviously you can have multiple career saves, but do invitations, historic goals, accolades and endorsements carry over multiple save files?
