Hopefully it wont have the same input delay that SU has on the PS3...

There's no real reason for it to. If I recall that was something they squashed very early on. There hasn't been a noticeable level of lag for months. I say noticeable level because obviously all games have some lag, it's all about keeping it below the level where your brain says "Hey, there's something wrong here!"

I saw a couple of videos, the new GT40 looks epic, but I'm not convinced by the oversized marbles, without any unnecessary jokes about what they seems (LOL) I just say they looks too big. I suggest to remove them if creting proper marbles take too much resources.

And I'm still not convinced by the tyre squeal sound. They have to make it way more progressive. They need to change sample for every kind of car they use. F1 tyres sound different than road tyres for instance. Not gamebreaking features though, but there's room to improve.

Quick question, will we get a free moving camera with slow motion in the replay like the PC version with the PS3 version?

The free cam is like some floating eye which lets you go through and beyond the track like a dev tool. Slow motion is done by using analogue joypad buttons or pedals like you would in Forza, Dirt, F1 using the replay bar.

What you're saying is you want to pick your exact moment in replay and free cam in photomode style.

I can't see any mention of photomode design. I would say the slowmo using the joypad triggers will remain though. If you have too much free movement you'll see undesirable bits in how the tracks are built. Gt5's boundary is very limiting though so I hope they do something similar to free cam we use now.

Maybe dude27 has seen something in the threads. Right now I'd guess its not important and will be done later. I think a few have stated they want a real type camera for photomode like in GT5.

In iracing you can select the speed and many other things, again this has been posted in the threads on what they want to see

Will there be more GT cars? I saw the carlist, it has a wide range of different categories but I feel GT class need more stuff. I saw there will be a Ginetta GT3, a BMW M3 GT2, a Pagani Zonda Cinque, Ruf's. Nice, but pCars won't be expandible with modding. What are the plans for future DLC's?

I know Ferrari and McLaren are expensive but they could get a license for brands like:
TVR (a Speed 12 race version would be epic)
Saleen S7R
Mosler MT900R
Ascari KZ1
Noble M12
Lister Storm
etc..

Dude, how are we supposed to know... All we can say is that you forgot the Z4 GT3 in your list and that they are probably trying to get more GT cars licensed, but what exactly we will have to wait and see.

My favorites would be: R8 LMS, New Viper ALMS, Corvette C6R GT3, MP4-12C GT3, SLS GT3, Camaro GT3, Lambda Motorsports Ford GT GT/E, Maserati Gran Turismo Trofeo, Gallardo Trofeo...

The only thing safe to say regarding licensing is that Porsche is not gonna happen and that Ferrari will be extremely unlikely.

Yes I forgot the Z4 sorry.
As we can see in the carlist there are several particular brands that you don't often see in racing games. They also have several Uk brands, SMS are from UK. Can you tell them to try with TVR, Noble, Lister, Ascari etc? I think they would be cheaper and easier to get compared to Lamborghini, Dodge Viper, Chevrelet, Maserati which have a premium name. I would love that stuff but to expensive for this project I guess.

Also let's not forget American brands like Mosler, Saleen and the Awesome Vector M12, they could fit pCars GT class perfectly.

It doesn't have to be that much of free movement ,I would like just to point the camera (all in the bounds of the track) at a certain corner for example and just see cars passing by in slow motion ,but some of the examples you mentioned are very welcome ,sometimes hate the Camera angles we get in GT5 replays

Well, you cant sell a million copies with just obscure cars that nobody knows. I m fairly sure they are trying to get the well known british manufacturers (Jaguar, Aston, Lotus, McLaren) licensed and I m certain they are trying to get at least Audi, as there are some fake-Audis in the game already. VW is also a good guess, as they were mentioned in the career design draft. I m sure SMS will also try to get some other important and lustworthy brands who have racecars or sports cars that fit well into the career mode. Mercedes springs to mind, Lambo, Chevy and we know that they have been contacted by a large german manufacturer (my guess: Opel). Besides that, my personal wish would be some Alfa and Maserati goodness.

But we dont need to tell them, they know all this as its been thoroughly discussed at WMD over the last year.

PS: Damn, how could I forget the Aston GT3?! Very high on my "Me wantz!" list! :scared:

What happened to this?
A certain large German manufacturer (it's not Porsche, and I won't say who so don't bother guessing) actually contacted us today to ask if we'd like some of their cars in the game, so the tide could be turning

(No doubt their next step will be to tell us how much we have to pay, but still!)
Andy Garton, Development Director.

"Ruf is done (we should probably mention that at some point), but that's not the large manufacturer I was referring to :)"
Andy Garton (after a few pints of beer)

I got your point, premium licences helps the selling. Another point is when you see that R18 with the fake Asano name, most of people don't really care about the name because it looks so detailed and well done, personally I don't need official Audi licence to appreciate the 3d model. You can always add official logo with liveries, as community members did.

So, if licensing brings too many headaches they can always go for the fictional route and most of us will still appreciate the new model. Here's a possible fake name for the TVR Speed 12 -> THR Fulgur XII :dopey: THR as abbreviation of Thunder, Fulgur (means lightning in latin) and roman numbers. This is just a silly exhample but a "Fulgur XII" that looks like a Speed 12 would be very interesting, not only for me I guess.

Do you know "alless"? He is known in the modding comunity for some quality content for GTR2 and rFactor, His next project will be selling high quality DTM 2012 models for rFactor2 without using official names. I'm sure he will find a decent market because people can always paint the cars with the official stuff and badges.

To include cars in the final game without a license they need to be modified, you can't just add the real car, call it something else and get away with it. The plan is obviously to get licenses for all of their cars but if they can't they will need to be changed somewhat although I can't remember how much.

I guess not that much because alless fake DTM 2012 looks very very close, Sure there is no official brands even tyres are not called Hankook (but something else with a fake orange logo) but who care. What I know is he will not pay for license.

Modders aren't developers, they get away with releasing 1000's of licensed cars without a license, they could be removed at any time if the license holder wants to though (Like that Porsche mod pack that got canned).

Putting an unlicensed, exact copy of a car in a retail game is very different to what modders are doing.

Yes I know, the difference is alless will SELL his mods this time, and the game is not exactly an unkown brand, it's rFactor 2.

What happen'd with Porsche and Enduracers is a different story, Endu did a car Porsche itself was trying to reproduce (last year there were a couple of stands with a "Porsche game" based on rFactor ingine) so modders became competitors and they were denied to release. What happen'd to the Porsche game I don't know. Probably they abbandoned it when they realized Endu models were considerably better. LOL.

Is there no first post with a car list in this thread? :P

EDIT: Great pictures again chromatic!

*points to the GT40* I think it can go up to Alpha1, as thats the first stage at which we see them in game. And that GT40 is playable already. ;)
