Had to give it a go yesterday and I'm utterly disappointed with pCARS right now. The FFB doesn't make you feel the car like in rFactor 2 or even F1 2012 to some extent. It's a shame but hopefully it'll be fixed in time for the release.

At some point they completely ballsed up the physics and FFB in the game, I'm not sure what they are doing with it right now but it feels like after all the steps they made with the physics and FFB they have now taken a whole bunch of steps backwards, I found the game almost unplayable the last I tried.

I'l use an example. Until today I haven't played pCars in quite a good while other than quickly testing a few things a few weeks ago. Went on today, tried to drive the Ford GT40 MK4 around Nurburgring, could barely get the thing around a corner, it wouldnt turn and then it would do a weird centre pivot oversteer and then it would spin and it really felt like it was near impossible to drive, I get it that this is a new car but this never used to happen with other "early stages" cars back in the earlier days.

So then I thought why not, jumped into my old favourite car, the Lotus 78 around Bathurst. I used to often hold the record for this combination when I played Pcars a lot and had it for many builds, it was around the 2.00 mark, eventually I got it down to a late 1:58 after a small patch change and some extremely on the edge and min/max driving, again it was the fastest time.

Fast forward a few months, I just did this and my first laptime around Bathurst was a 1:55. It was a slow and steady lap and I was taking it easy, but the car had sooo soo much more grip, more stability and even more apparent power and to be honest it was much easier to drive, the fastest time is a 1:49. So essencially in the space of a few months a car that was already deemed too fast has now become 10 seconds faster. I don't know what they are doing and it may come good, but what I'm seeing is things going in the wrong direction and that annoys me, because the game is getting closer and closer to release.

Well bigbazz, if you think its going in the wrong direction, whining about it here wont help. You ve got a WMD account to test the game and to give the devs feedback, so if you think something is wrong, go to the physics section of the pCARS forum and explain your problems there.

And on the Lotus 78: I m not 100% sure about it but if I m not mistaken it still uses the Formula A tires as a placeholder, as they are still right in the middle of implementing the new tire model.

So are you saying it is unacceptable to post critical comments on this thread? Is this a thread to discuss pcars or just to fawn over it?

What?! The hell no, but what good is it to whine on here about stuff not going in the direction you want it, when at the same time you have the chance at another place to actually voice your opinion and give worthy feedback, but you dont use that?

We have the chance to actually make a difference on this one, but instead a lot of people just waste that chance by never writing anything useful at WMD and just venting off elsewhere, so the devs never get to read it. Thats all I m saying.

So, what's new on the world of P-C.A.R.S? Last I time I logged on the Dubai track had just been released. Have they come up with default liveries for the Z4 yet?

Yes, liveries are applied for the Z4, both the contest winners are the two official liveries from the 24Hr Nurburgring race. Nothing much else has happened but it is Christmas of course.

You got a good point there. I think everyone can critic here if you have no WMD account, but if you have one, go ahead stress some devs! :)

That's pretty cool! Thank you!

Edit: Wow! Just updated and I have to say those guys really went all out on those skins! Excellent job on all of them! And what a clever way of getting them by SMS, some very very good looking skins in there!
Also graphical optimization seems to be going well, got a good jump on FPS on the 3D garage.

Cheers LogiForce.

Some leftover pics. Let me know if its too much for one page

That's the one I have as my background now. :)

Also I don't mind if you post a hundred 1080p pics on one page. I won't notice much difference with 120Mbit/s down. ;)
So yeah, the wrong guy to ask I suppose. heh

Edit:
I hope they will improve the texture/reflection quality of the lights and shocks though. They seem to be a bit behind compared to the rest of the car.

What features will this game have? Is it strictly simulation? Will there be a livery editor? Can we perform engine swaps?

Simulation racing game. Livery editor yes, engine swaps or any form of mechanical/physical modification, no. I suppose the closest comparison would be the old TocA games.

Well this is still a must buy regardless. Even though I'll be taking a hit getting it for PS3 as my PC can't handle it.
