This game continues to spring such beautiful moments on me. Running the Sauber Prototype around Brno...brilliant. Never been on this track before but i love the sweeping corners and the woodland setting. You can use the tyre stacks on the apexes as markers - unless they get hit by the AI hehe! Plus the prototypes look epic on track.

Next venue was Spa - this track looks amazing in this game - love how you can see the grandstands from the other side of the track...nothing disappears or pops up.
I drop the sauber races.couldn't keep the tunning i made.every time i went on track my tune was lost.pitty.

I was thinking that on the race set up screen, where it says 'world's fastest' down on the right, I'd much prefer to have my own personal best ever lap time for whichever track was selected, plus the best lap time for the currently selected car.

am I correct that at the moment there's no way of seeing best times on a per car/per track basis (on console)? is this possible on PC?

I don't know why we're given the option to drive any car in TT, for example if I want to choose an open wheeler there's no way at all to get to the top of the leaderboard without being in a Formula A car, therefore making any other choice pointless. last night I wanted to see what my Lotus 78 times at Donington were like compared to the world but there was no way, or am I missing something?

I also wish there was a way to see this. As it stands I think I'm the fastest around Imola with a 320 Group 5 on the XB1, but still atleast 8 seconds off the top time. I also wish there was a friends leaderboard as well.

difficulty settings are really strange, at the moment i'm playing the career with the default 80%.
Kart and superkarts were super easy, expecially superkarts were i was 5 seconds faster per lap.
Clio cup is harder, i won every race and scored pole every round but i won but only by few seconds and with great battles, expecially in silverstone.
Gt5 with the ginetta is super easy like karts, 3 seconds faster per lap.. on the other hand some invitational events at 80% are incredibly hard like the brands hatch showdown, i can't even qualify in the top 5 on 80% with an audi r8.

I am experiencing it in the exact same way you are. I generally stay on 80% across the board and fare faster then the other Ai, but when I got to Superkarts I was just blowing the doors off them. I had bumped it up to 90% and I still finished a race 15 seconds ahead, after I spun out and landed at the rear of the pack.

Clio's are much more intense in the same setting, and I think its my favorite class so far. As for the Ginneta, I found that one to be a bit boring and lackluster while driving, but it was definitely easier then the Clio's.

I cant even get a lap in with Brands Hatch because I keep getting terrible frame rate slow mo's under braking and acceleration. I end up quitting out of frustration.

As I recall pre-release, the AI at any given % in the career are progressive, easier at the beginning of your career to represent the skill level of club level drivers and more difficult later on to represent the top drivers regionally, nationally and globally. I don't like this myself, I wish it was flat throughout or at least the option of of one or the other.

Having that seems pretty counter-intuitive if it isnt even explained to the player.

It does mimic reality though. I raced karts at the club, regional and national levels and the level of competition really does change as you progress. The problem for us gamers is that while it mimics reality, it's also kind of boring to win by a light year in the lower levels when you really just want challenging races throughout. I understand why they did it this way and can appreciate the effort, but it would be nice to have the option to turn that difficulty progression off or change it in some way. Still I give them credit for thinking of this to begin with. 👍

The Ginetta was extremely boring to drive...i had to restart my career as it was boring me to tears.

I decided to put PCARS away and wait for some fixes to the many issues with the game, I must say that I was extremely happy to see that patch 1.4 is coming so quickly and that it addresses the Ghosting and Blurring issues as those are the ones that you see no matter what you do, That’s really great if they have that sorted and would make me very happy.

While I wait for the fix to come, I decided to play a little gran turismo 6 to pass the time. I drove the Pagani Zonda R at "Circuit de la Sarthe" and noticed that the straights are really bumpy and decided to drive same Car/Track combination to see if I would notice huge differences between the games, So I started PCARS, selected the Pagani Zonda R at "Circuit des 24 hears du" and the thing that actually jumped out at me was how smooth the track felt, I didn’t feel any bumpiness on the straights at all. So this brought me to the question that hopefully someone here can answer, which one is more realistic? Should the track feel bumpy on the straights (as in Gran Turismo) or smooth as a newly paved highway (as in PCARS)?
I honestly don’t know the answer, so I am just looking for one here.

I have to be honest I don't find (in an LMP 1 or 2 car) that the track is smooth as a newly paved road in pCars, but its also not a pothole ridden bump fest either and judging by the lack of feedback through the steering wheel in the video above the current state of the public road is fairly good.

That would tie in with driver interviews I've heard over the last few years, the apparent trickiest part is when to actually cross from one side of the road to the other, as being a public road its crowned and at speed crossing it can unsettle the cars downforce.

Done playing PCARS for a while until SMS does something abut the AI shunting me from behind all the time. Sick of it really. Shame, because I love the game otherwise.

For me the career is on hold until 1.4 fixes the AI in the rain. So far the AI isn't that bad it's just that as soon as you leave the slightest of gaps (even on the outside), they will go for it, and you don't expect that to happen so a crash inevitably happens.

But yeah 1.4... I hope us PC folks don't have to wait for it until Sony and MS approve it @diesel97 !

Nice try i am not playing your kid games. You should read more and whine less. Patch 1.4 is only one part of the AI being faster in the rain ,they will still be 1-3 seconds fast then you

It should be like this:

Google is your friend. 💡

Ok, Thanks for the info (link to video), I watched the video and then went back to play the same track/car in PCARS. What I noticed was that I could see the movement of the car and steering wheel on screen but didn’t feel any of it in the wheel. I didn’t change any of the wheel settings, just calibrated the wheel and pedals. Will I need to make adjustments to the wheel settings to get the feel of the road to come through? I thought I would get this by default. If this is required, can you point me in the right direction? I would like to get the road feel to come through, but to be honest, I don’t really want to spend tons of time playing with settings.

Sorry guys, but I'm temporarily uninstalling pCARS at the moment. I'm right now too busy with the final days of school, so I'm thinking about suspending pCARS gameplay for a while. I'll need to finish up my schoolwork first before I go back into the driver's seat. School first!

But don't worry, I'll be back once school's done. It's just I'm way too busy right now. I'll still buy the DLC though once it comes out.

And, by the way, Steam refunds are available, so I'm trying to request a refund on Assetto Corsa, since I wasn't satisfied about that game...

In my opinion after driving the Ruf CTR3..... It is the second worst handling car on the game. I got a inventional event to drive it for 3 races and my god the understeer going into a turn then loose off is the worse feeling. And yes I said second worse handling. The first car is that DLC #1 car we got. What a terrible handling car:yuck: But even though I'm having a hard time driving Ruf CTR3 I'm doing pretty good against the AI. They all using the same car and they at 80%. Finish 2nd in the first race and 1st in the second race.

I just did the first invitational at Road America in that car and I rather liked it. I thought the race was quite enjoyable. The AI was a little slow there though. I was doing 100% AI and qualified on pole by 1.5s, and won the race by over 10s. I think the AI was running too much wing, because I pulled away by 0.5s each time down the front straight.

Gran Turismo's La Sarthe is an old asset, built around a scanning of the surface of that track made in 2009. Since then, the tarmac were rebuilt, mainly because of the deformation caused by lorries and heavy traphic. So, nowadays the public road bit have a much smoother track than you would find couple years ago.

In short, pCARS is more accurate.

Yessssss , I'm also done with PCars .............. pffffff ;Seventy cars cleaned now i can race them yesssssssssss .
What a game .

Haven't tried the AI there but I like Saikatto GP more than Suzuka:scared:

I like Suzuka, but I like the way they've handled Sakitto GP, although I haven't driven it yet.

But the International layout is a bit of a mess for a couple of reasons. The circuit runs in reverse, which completely ruins Spoon and 130R. That's more of a disappointment than a major problem though.

The big issue is a corner in the middle of the track, at the point where the Suzuka hairpin would be. There is a huge blind crest with a major dropoff with a wall at a right angle to the track, meaning that a car can hit it square head on. The AI overshoot and hit the wall nearly every lap. Running GT4, I saw every car except the Ginetta do this.

It'd almost be funny if it wasn't so dumb!

I guess the '97 in your name stands for the year you were born no? :)

If the pair of you can't discuss the topic at hand without taking digs at each other then you will both be given a time out.

You will not be asked again.
