For a car so new to the sim , it feels pretty darn good ! Loves to drift but a few minor tweaks settle it down a bit. 👍

Hmmm.. Sounds like a good drift car to me, next to the FD3S. I can't wait to see the PS3 version though.

I bet the 190E Evo II is going to be among the Mercedes'. :D

Nice! This might be a dumb question, but is that location with the waterfalls behind the Hyura a photoshoot location similar to the ones from GT4 and GT5 where you to a famous spot for photos?

Thanks.

No, he cut out the car and placed it over a real background in photoshop

original pcars shot I did

I really hope pCARS turns the gear whine WAY WAY WAY down. Carrying the turbine powered cars from Shift sounds just awful. Yes, we all know the gears are straight cut and they make a whine noise. That gear noise should never dominate the soundstage. Unless its an electric powered car. This video is a perfect contrast for why gear noise should not be so LOUD.

Agreed about the whine sound. It's rather annoying to hear it sounding louder than the car's engine sound. Hope they do tone it down though, reminds me of Shift's sounds and I dislike that...

The sounds aren't anywhere near done, so no need to worry just yet.

I completely realize that, which is why I'm not flying off the handle. You guys who do have a voice in this project, please ask that the gear noise be reduced ASAP. We are in the year in which this game/sim is to be released. That means more attention will be paid to videos of pCARS.

Let's be honest, in the Z4 the gear noise is unbelievably loud, in Real Life. It's just the way it is. You guys have already pointed out why.

There are some cars where the gear noise is over the top, but that's not one of them. Yeah, it's really quite an annoying noise, but it's pretty accurate as far as I can tell.

Fixed ;)

And how do you know that the audio in the video is actually high quality? Seems like a GoPro video with its characteristic wide angle and extremely distorted audio.

IMO: pCARS sounds too "digital", you just don't have that prominent "rumble"

These video clips have much less whine. My point being, low quality videos on Youtube really should not be used to judge sound

Actually I kind of agree about pCARS sounds being too digital currently, but in the videos you posted the gear whine is just as prominent as in pCARS or Imaris video..?

And tbh, I dont think its annoying. That, plus the rumble of the engine make for a lovely and authentic noise imho. 👍

This is the video contrasting moderate gear noise to prominent gear noise. They are very different. Even GT5 dialed down the gear noise. Does SMS expect us to wear earplugs AND helmets when playing a video game? I think not.

To my ears pCARS seems to have layered a flat and constant V8 sound with varying levels of ear-piercing whine. While the Simbin crew have done the opposite with varying V8 and like you said, moderate whine. Needless to say I definitely prefer Simbin's interpretation.
