Great video. But all the tire squeal is kinda annoying.

Tire squeal is not yet connected to the new metric slip of the seta tyre model but it will be in the end. Other improvements will surely come as well, we're just not that far yet. (volume will be adjustable btw as well)

Good to know, because it's REALLY annoying. Looking forward to sound updates.

Be glad it does r have the CLUNK CLUNK of baseball sized rubber "marbles" pelting the wheel wells like in Shift.

To be fair I never ever heard the "Clunk Clunk" in a real life camera car, I think racing tyres use a pressure that if the find a little bump they don't "clunk" like Shift 2. And marbles are smaller in real life, about 1 or 2 cm.

The E30 M3 on the Ring is heaven! Tried the E92 M3 GT and that one felt a bit twitchy but I understand it's pre-alpha. :)

A question: what graphics and fps should I be able to run with a AMD Radeon HD 6700 Series, AMD Athlon II X4 640 processor 3.00 GHz and 8gb of RAM?

New to the thread and I'm only vaguely familiar with pCARS as of now.

Just out of curiosity, how does one edit the livery on the cars? How difficult would you say it is? They seem immaculately detailed.

The skins aren't hard to make. I know it seems complicated, like you have to place everything bit by bit, but with the templates it's a piece of cake. If you want to learn the process I suggest you look up "how to skin" videos for iRacing, since it's pretty much the same thing.

Once you lay out the graphics, just copying and pasting unless you want to get really artsy, the vehicle model does the rest to make it a beauty.

Right now you use a templete in photoshop, The finished game will have a livery editor.

That sounds good, the second part. Will the finished game include both methods? Or have they not mentioned that?

I figured they were easy considering the consistency of the quality I've seen in the images, I was just wondering about the methods.

I'm looking at getting this game more for PC than PS3, is that what everyone else is gonna try to go with? Or is PS3 the preferred platform for play when this game releases? (Considering we're on a Gran Turismo forum, after all).

I have to admit that this doesn't seem like the giant slayer everyone is making it out to be, but it is very impressive nonetheless and I am keenly interested in it. I like the niche gap it seems to be aiming for in between full-on hardcore PC-only sim racers like iRacing and casual console simulators like GT. Here's to hoping they can wrangle in a few more Group A, Group 5 and GT3 cars to make multi-class racing a distinct possibility.

Even just singleplayer multi-class racing would be so fun with the cars we already have.

I agree with all that you say though 👍

Same here. I like the car list and track list, but I would love to see some new cars in PCars as well.

I'm getting this for the PS3 though, I would love to get it for the PC, but I don't have a top end gaming PC so I'll do with the PS version, the semi-PC that is ;).

Sorry, I didn't realise that RaceSimCentral decided which sim is a sim or not. I was only going by my own experience with them.

All hail A1-242, master of all things Sim(or at least on his consoles), who really knows nothing.

Lol, i've beem simracing for a while now, but i'm not a fanboy like you. I' use iRacing, rFactor, GTR2, GTL, rFactor2 etc etc. Not sure which console you have seen those games are on but i believe i play them on PC.

I am looking forward to having a choice of sims to use, 2013 should be a great year for the simracing community, it's just a shame that narrow minded people believe that iRacing is the be all and end all as far as simracing goes.

You have stated that the best race on iRacing, but in reality those that can afford it play iRacing. Some snotty little kid with a DFGT, PS2 & GT4 could be the fastest simracer in the world. I believe that there are plenty of GTP members that could be equally as good if not better than those on iRacing, but they can not afford a PC to get the chance.

No let's all hail left888, the iRacing fanboy who clearly thinks his subscription to that makes him better than everyone else.

I've been a console sim racer for as long as I can remember, played iracing for the first time and stuck it on pole. If anything iracing is easier because its so realistic.

Not to verge too much farther here... but you probably "stuck it on pole" because you started off in a very low split, which is full of people who usually don't even bother to qualify.

Anyway.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to trying out the new Bimmers, the E92 M3 GT is one of my favorite sports cars of all time, hopefully it ends up sounding as awesome as in real life by the time it's all finished.

I haven't touched pCARS for a while, decided to leave it for a couple of months and get a greater feel for how things are moving on.

Keeping up with the forums thought and I've got to say, loving the astonishing amount of work that is going into the Solitude Rennstrecke track from FLX and the rest of them. Great to see so much time, effort and care into something that 99% of people aren't going to know whether it's right or wrong. Can't wait to drive the finished article knowing that so much has gone into it.

You guys make me laugh, just because I told you I think iRacing is the best sim out there and not pCARS some of you just can't handle the truth. I have just about every racing sim out there, starting from 1979.

So people like SimonK resorted to insulting me at every chance he gets because I hurt his feelings, sorry again SimonK, now it seems A1 has had his feelings hurt as well. Sorry guys but iRacing is still the best sim around.

That's enough of that.

If you think iRacing is the best, fine, that's your opinion. Don't come into this thread looking to start a null argument.

I have supported pCARS from almost the beginning, I have expressed my opinion several times here, only some members have resulted in name calling.

In fact as I mentioned I support many sim racers. The one thing as a moderator that needs to be done is eliminate the name calling. Last time I checked that was against the rules?
