Depending on the severity name calling in and of itself isn't expressly forbidden unless it's abusive, hateful, etc.

But here's the thing: you see the report button underneath every one of your posts? Use it and the staff will act accordingly, if necessary. Taking actions into your own hands (and you've been talked to about this on several occasions) will result in you being on the opposite side of an infraction.

PC is the only way to sim #gloriousmasterrace

I agree with that. I'm just wanting to know which direction we (the majority of GTPlanet's members) are going in, 'cause I would like to race with you all.

PC is the better option, but PS3 might be more widely used? That was kinda the supporting question. Also, does anyone know what the maximum grid count for cars is? Will it be different for PC and PS3?

Even just singleplayer multi-class racing would be so fun with the cars we already have.

I agree with all that you say though 👍

Forgive me, what I meant was multi-car single class racing, as you can have multi-class racing with any and every car there, ultimately. I'm more concerned over doing a nice Group A recreation race with an M3, 190 Evo, Cosworth Sierra etc.

Brain thinks one thing and fingers type another, my bad.

Grid sizes will be different. The PC supports up to 64 players and the PS3/360 will be probably 12 or 16. I also remember there was talk about being able to bump that up on the consoles with AI opponents as well, but not sure if thats something that was deemed to be doable or not.

Are you saying they were talking about a grid of 12-16 human players and then additional AI on top of that? That's crazy talk, surely it would be easier to have more human players than add AI? I remember when Team Fortress 2 added bots, using them had a big impact on performance because CPU cycles were being used to calculate the AI's actions, and there's only a few physics calculations that can really be performed in TF2. In PCARS the host console would have to calculate the AI's actions and how the physics would react on top of the graphics and the player's physics. With human players, each console processes it's own physics and sends that data to the others, so the individual processor load should be a lot lower with just human players.

And this thread is probably mostly PC players because we can get access to the alpha, but as this is a site based on a PS3 game (well, a Playstation franchise) it wouldn't be surprising if the PS3 version was more popular.

hmm, I really don't remember, honestly. Its been a long while since I read that thread (I dont read much about the multiplayer, since until very recently my internet wouldnt have been able to even do it as crapily as it does now.) It may well have been for PC's for filling out a large grid for mp endurance races, or might have been just an off-hand thought by a dev that they might eventually look into something like it in some capacity that just kinda wedged itself in my mind. Hence why I said it was iffy.

That was the meaning of my post. :P The majority of us that post in this thread regularly are on PC :)

I'll be picking it up on PC and PS3. PC to be able to max everything out and set up some serious leagues and also PS3 'cause, of course being here, I have a lot of friends that aren't able to join the master race. But I'm always interested in bringing more serious racing leagues to consoles and pCars will be a great platform to continue bringing a better name to multiplayer racing on consoles.

Both for me as well. I ll get one version for free anyway and I want to go to the freaking mall here and buy the game I helped to shape up. I ll have a huge grin on my face. :D

And I have some online racing friends on PS3 from here on GTP that I didnt forget, I want to race in pCARS with them too.

When I have my gaming PC at release, I'll get the PC version.
It has full gamepad support and just look at the graphics. :D
I also don't want to play it with 30 frames per second.

Probably neither for me. Been following this thread for a long time and really not excited at all.

It's your opinion.

My opinion is if console version looks good enough, the frame rate is stable, the game is well done with no major bugs, cool features, multiclass racing, possibility to select your opponents, fast competitive AI etc...

I might buy console version only because I don't have a "next gen" PC yet. So if pCars is going to do what I was expecting from GT5 I will not have the ultimate PC detail but I might save 600 / 700 bucks.

Anyway it depends on the release date if it's Q3 2013 my opinion could change.
Assetto Corsa is calling me everyday (it's like the Ring of Lord of The Rings LOL)
I could end up buying a proper PC for AC and accordingly for pCars as well.

Good to hear FLX :) can't wait to get on this game when it hits PS3, a racing league would be epic 👍

PC for sure for me.

Because of what, out of interest?

I plan on getting Assetto Corsa. The moddability and open architecture is very appealling to me as I love to tinker with things. ( Much to my wife's amusement and chagrin.)
Beyond that, I have no need or desire to own every simulator. One is enough for me.
FWIW rFactor2 is higher on my list than pcars due to the moddability and my familiarity with rfactor.

Fair enough.

For me I need a strong single player aspect even if it is a PC sim so whilst I think i'll still get AC it'll be lower on my list than pCARS. Same reason I don't really care for other online only sims.

Assetto Corsa will feature a pretty good AI system and championships shouldn't be an issue. I'm looking forward to both though, simply because pCARS will have the same quality for all tracks and cars, while Assetto Corsa will suffer from the same quality issues in mods as rFactor. Not to mention that pCARS still looks better in many aspects and I love good graphics.

Dont say you love good graphics in a sim thread :scared: They will burn you at the stake for not saying
"graphics don't matter - It's all about the physics"

Awww. You still love us! Like Steve said, I'd also love to see another series featuring PCARS.

Hell yeah, you buggers! :D

Heres hope they listened to us regarding multiplayer, I would love to see really well thought out online league management implemented. Would make life quite a bit easier for Zee...

Honestly don't know how you could've missed this:

Sometimes you just gotta look at the game's website x)

Unless i get rich between now and release, i will only be getting it for PS3. Also if it releases on the PS4 later i will get that also.

PS. Nice pictures Chromatic, especially the last one looks real!

It's not a sim in my eyes (I've read OP and the latest page). rFactor, iRacing and Richard Burns Rally is a simulator in my eyes.
