...It seems that the Mac fanboy inside me got carried away.Wow, I leave the forum for a few hours and now we're discussing the marketing plans of Apple in the PS3 General Discussion thread?
I saw that yesterday. And it's not for the US.
What are you talking about because he's talking about PS1/PS2.
although microsoft havent realy advanced on physics of games etc i still believe that gears of war is an amazing game and still a great advancement on the original xbox and playstation 2 and dont get me wrong im no xbox fanboy infact i dislike them as i feel like they are just churning out consoles to get our money not to last a few years like playstation but they are still making advances in gamingjeremi ricci
I'm sorry, but "next gen" isn't about graphics, it's about everything else, and it seems like MS simply doesn't care, and Gears is a prime example that they are focused on pushing the boundries of the graphics, but ignoring expanding gameplay elements.

Anyone know if SixAxis is backwards compatible with ps2? (via some kind of connector or just straight-up usb)
MS probably can't move it on beyond graphics. The main reason probably being because it's using just a standard controller, with buttons and triggers, like games have since the very start. Where as the Wii is something different, with the motion sensors. If they made the console have just as good graphics with that gameplay, then that would be truely next gen - and make it even more appealing as I personally don't like the Wii a lot due to its graphics being poor against the others. Graphics play a big role in gaming in my mind. I guess, again, it's personal preference.Well, all I can say is there is not one thing in Gears of War that I haven't seen before, or coudln't have seen on another console, aside from it's visuall presentation.
I could see all the physics / gameplay elements / AI in Gears on Xbox, easily, becuase they are not impressive.
I could not see PS2 games providing amazing terrain and physics with good AI, with a 15 car grid, nor could I see that on the X-Box. It just seems like either a) MS doesn't care about moving the gaming industry forward past grpahics, or b) they can't.

Because I have no controller for my Ps2 right now. I figure I'll get a sixaxis (are they even availible?) to use for ps2 until I get my ps3. That way, I'll have an extra controller.
I mean, otherwise I could just go buy a 5 dollar used controller.
Is anybody going to give me an answer?
Does sixaxis work on the ps2???
So you got it? Congrats!!!
So yeah, create a virtual PS2 memory card through the PS3 interface. Once that's created, you should be able to drop the file from your flash drive there and load up GT4 (in theory).
How can it? I don't think the PS2 will recognize it when hooked up to the USB ports.
i have a question?????? sorry for my ignorance, but no question is a stupid question... i think
I've talked to some of my cousins in the US, not hardcore gamers or anything like that, but when i asked them about the PS3, they just said it's not as good as the 360, i can't judge because here in brazil it will be months before i even see one. so my question is:
is the PS3 as great (now) as SONY said it would be?
i really dont want a long answer showing me the pros and cons about it because i am tired of reading them, i just want to hear from you fellow GTP members your opinion on the matter. yes or no answers are very welcomed.
thanx 👍
You seem to be asking two questions, not one, but as to "is the PS3 as great (now) as SONY said it would be?"i have a question?????? sorry for my ignorance, but no question is a stupid question... i think
