PS3 General Discussion

To be honest, that should have been there at launch.

Well, the same could be said about the 360 and it's (lack) of HDMI and a larger storage medium, AND a standard HDD. But, I suppose we all don't get what we want. I'm not peeved, and I can stand to wait, seeing minor upgrades now holds potential for many more in the future.

Still, the ability to multi-task (which imply's hopefully downloading while you play games, listening to music while you play games, send messeges while you play games, etc etc) and custom display features (which hopefully means wallpaper functionality and custom XBM features) really seems a lot like what pretty much everyone with a PS3 wants...what more do you want?

A PSP :D

To be honest, that should have been there at launch.

Lots of things should have been there. But something is better than nothing for now. We are the early adaptor's of the new hardware. XBL should have come with Xbox but it didn't. Many PSP features are non exsistant on PS3 but PSP didn't have most of them when it came out. Thats why Sony has its firmware updates. If you release every possible feature without through testing you'd have more problems then you want to deal with with.

A large update gets more attention than many small ones. PSP 2.00 and 3.00 got lots more attention than 2.60 and 2.80.

How are you not too impressed with things people have been craving? Multi-tasking, customization options, more slide show options, amazing world wide PSP streaming content access...I fail to see how you are not impressed?

Basically, you can now load your PS3 up with audio, and anywhere in the world, you can access it with your PSP via WiFi and listen to all your favorite music, and watch videos off your PS3 through your PSP...how on gods green earth is that not impressive? I'm impressed and I refuse to buy a PSP...
"Anywhere in the world"? More like anywhere in your house. What you're speaking of (accessing your PS3's media through hotspots) isn't possible yet. And from what I've heard, the video framerate is really choppy, and the audio doesn't stream correctly.

Hmm... Blu-ray movies to display in 720p, and 720p games (like Resistance and FNR3) to display in 1080i sounds good (so Blu-ray movies won't look like ass on my LCD, and I can play my games in HD on the big TV downstairs). I would also like force feedback and rumble in all games, and throw in Entitlements while you're at it.

I rather buy Warhawk on Blu-Ray format, instead of downloading it, because if I got bored of it after a year or two, then I would sell it. But if it was only a download game, then I cannot sell it at all.

Use critical thinking.

If it was a downloadable game, it'd probably cost $10-$15. If it was on an actual disc, it'd cost $60. Granted, there'd be more stuff on the disc, but still.

I went to Best Buy this evening to pick up a second SIXAXIS for some Tekken action. They had a table set up with PS3s and 360s. I counted at least 15 Xbox 360s stacked on the table and on the ground but, only 2 PS3s. I also saw a guy take home a SIXAXIS as well.

Of course, no Wiis. The men in blue are hording them in the back.

Hope that helps.

That's kinda old news. It only affects companies selling PS3's on import. Individuals selling on eBay is quite legal. However, you won't get any PS3 support in the UK for a US or Japanese PS3.
I doubt many people are going to import with the EU/UK launch just 2 months away.

Nah.

So after my attempt at a 360 went belly up quicker than a tortoise on an ice rink, How has the PS3 gone down in US/Japan?

I'm going to go with my instincts now and get a PS3.

Well, I finally got to play with a PS3.

I went into Wal*Mart last night for a few items and did my usual walk by the video game section just to see if they had any Wiis. WHile they had no Wiis I was surprised that the only person there was a guy playing Gutar Hero 2 on the PS2 demo.

So I checked out the PS3, expecting it to be frozen or off like it usually is when no one is playing on it, because when it is working there is usually a line. It was on, so I loaded up the Motorstorm demo to see what the buzz was all about.

It was a pretty fun game. It took me two of three laps to get used to the controls and not fly off the cliff or wreck in a way that caused me to explode, setting me in 15th place. But the third lap I had things under control and worked my way up to 6th before I finished the race. I discovered why there was no line then, nothing was on the screen so no one decided that they wanted to play. By the time I finished two guys were waiting behind me.

The game was fun and I would probably buy it if I already owned a system but it wasn't enough to make me want to buy the system. Overall I enjoyed the few minutes I got to play and it got me thirsting for the day I do buy one.

Until then I will be happy with GT4 and my Wii, whenever I get that.

Hi guys, how can I upload/download music into my PS3?

I'm away from home and I don't have the manual, but I took a quick glance at it last night when I got home but couldn't find anything about it.

Yes, you can upload music, however, it cant be upload "copyrighted material"

You can do it a few ways, the easiest being putting in a CD and ripping the music off the CD (hit Triangle) or putting in an iPod or MP3 player, USB thumb drive, CF card, etc.

The key is just hitting "Triangle" to bring up the menu to copy it all :) Hope this helps!

So All the music that I have in my iPod will transfered?

How you say? I never tried it, but can't you rip music from audio CD's? The Triangle button is your friend. Put your favorite audio CD in and select it with the Triangle Button. Should be an option to copy it. You can also copy files from external drives/flash drives. Again, the Triangle is your friend. With the USB media inserted, find the file(s) or folder(s) and hit your Triangle button. You can copy single or multiple copies at once to the PS3's had drive.

[EDIT] I'm typing a little slow this morning, what Jeremy Ricci

So All the music that I have in my iPod will transfered?

To copy music off your iPod, it can be a tiny bit of a hassle. You have to select the iPod with Triangle, and select "Display All". This should show you the root file directory for the iPod, and you can browse your music from there and copy it as needed :)
