PS3 General Discussion

Little Big Planet is going to get enemeis and bosses. The user can create enemies and bosses as well.

So it looks like recreating all the Nintendo 2-d mario games and playing through them with 3 others will now be possible to the fullest extent 👍

Machines that roam from let to right...replace that with goombas and there you go!

Is it too early for a LBP thread? :D I heard they will release a public beta in a few months and the actual game Q1-2 next year

has anyone else ever had a message saying that the ps store has been suspended? my internet has been a little wonky lately so I was thinking that might be the cause...

It's funny how Americans (myself included) never have time to actually enjoy the things they're doing and get caught up in just doing so many different things. I just narrow the list down and enjoy the hell out of that. Less TV is better for you anyway.
Isn't that a fantastic book! Last month I bought a couple copies as gifts:

DeepDiscount Order part II:

One for my sister's two boys, and one for my sister in-law's three boys... although the book, as you already know is really for the whole family, and should be a must read for all ages and genders! 👍

You can swap them yourself, but you'd obviously void the warranty. Then again, it's just a rental. ;)
Really? Yes, we rent them from Time Warner, so I'm definitely not worried about voiding any warranty... I was worried about causing them to crash and lose all the programs already on the HDD. Currently all four DVRs are working just fine. I got rid of the bad one by stop using it to record any new programming, and after we had watched what we wanted off it, we returned it to Time Warner. However, if this happens again, it would be nice to know that one can simply swap out HDDs from one 8300HD to another. 👍

I haven't seen that kind of message before. I know I was on the PS Store last night and it was working just fine. Wish I could be more helpful. Sorry.

I am really looking forward to LBP, and no, it's definitely not to early for it's own thread, as this thread is so huge and has so much activity, trying to find previously posted info on one specific game can be extremely time consuming, and even then, sometimes next to impossible to find a specific post.

By all means, please start a LBL thread! 👍

Has anyone else checked out the game trailer for Sega's upcoming game Imabikisou developed by Chunsoft? It's available for download on the Japanese PS Store, but GameTrailers has a copy of it HERE.

This game completely took me by surprise. I actually thought it was a movie trailer at first. It looks like it is going after the "Silent Hill" game market.

I can't seem to find much information about the game, but apparently it is supposed to come out in Japan by the end of the year.

The other game that looked quite promising for MMOP gamers is Koei's Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War developed by Omega Force. GameTrailers.com has a few really nice HD video clips for this game, which you can see by clicking HERE.

This game had also slipped under my radar, and is supposed to be coming out by the end of the year as well.

man this sucks....I won't get my PS3 till monday or tuesday, as the guy i bought it of sent it the day after he received the money, so it wouldn't arrive before the weekend and then forgot to put a "saturday delivery" sticker on it, so they wont deliver it in the wekend either(they don't deliver sunday's). I don't trust it sitting in their depo all weekend...

You wanna know how kick ass the PS3 is? My dumbass forgot to bring the power cable to work with the PS3 so I grabbed one off a computer monitor, plugged it in, and turned it on.👍

Lets see the 360 do that... :dopey:

Even that is standard? Whodathunkit.

Kinda irronic coming from a company known to make proprietary things just for their crap.
You have to admit with the PS3 the only proprietary stuff was the Cell and Blu-Ray which make it better.

Yeah, I've played that Bladestorm demo from the Japanese PSN Store. I liked it, but I'm a Medieval history fan so I'm easily pleased! Still at least it's different and there's nothing else like it around. A mixture of tactics and slashing.

I tired 1080p in HDMI and 1080p in Component... for some reason it looks better via component. It's better anyway because my HDMI slot is in use.

BTW, while were on the topic of cables and proprietary... I think it's flipping awesome that I can use the same composite and component cables from my PS2 on my PS3. Lets see the xbox and xbox 360 do that. :P

Oh I'm not complaining, I think it kicks ass that they didn't go in thinking about how many ways they could screw the customer sideways. xD

And the A/V cable, which is for n00bs. HDMI FTW.
They've been using that same cable for so long I think I just forgot about it. Plus, if I don't have to pay extra for it then it isn't a huge deal.

Like I said above, that cable has been around for so long I rarely think of it as Sony only.

Yeah, I was glad they gave me more memory card support than just Memory Stick. I was afraid I would be stuck using theur card, but I can use the SD card I already have for my Wii or my USB thumb drive.

Now I only wish the remote would have been designed with RF to be universal for my TV/stereo.

Great, now I wonder if my PC remote, which does use RF, would work. The receiver connects via USB.

I plugged in my wireless mouse and it worked for the web browser, not that good because the browser controls were made for the sixaxis controller but it worked.

I'd try it and let me know how it goes. I wonder if the Logitech remote made for the 360 would work on the PS3? That would be funny as hell. :D

Well, it is a Sony Vaio and the remote came with it. I've just never used it because I wasn't watching videos on my PC from across the room. So, it sat in a box under my bed completely forgotten until just now. I'll have to test it out this week.

I guess someone already asked the question, and I must admit I haven't read all pages in this thread. But: What do I need to connect to the Japanese PSN Store? Is it possible with an European PS3, can I use my existing account or do I have to register again?
Thanks in advance

From what i gathered you need to make a new account, with a random Japanese address from google etc.

Does the PS3 come with a composite(blue, Green, Red) Cable? Ive had a few people tell me it doesn't....That would suck.

No, it comes with the same cable as the PS2 and PS1 came. :grumpy: For HD Quality you have to buy a composite or HDMI Cable additionally.

And thanks for the answer.

the PS3 comes with regular composite cables which are for SD tvs and have the red white and yellow tips, component cables which have 3 video cables plus the 2 audio cables must be purchase separately

I just bought a joytech item for NZ$30. Oh yea and my PS3 arrived:D

But GT:HD isn't on the australasian store:(

Anyway my PSN-ID is: Godzilla_GTR

Just create a US or a European account... I made a US account with my usual US postcode.... 90210 :P If you need a UK postcode, use my old London one, E3 5AR 👍 Enjoy the PS3 :D

I've been having a great time playing flash games on the PS3, including my old favourite, DARTS! Plenty more of them here... http://www.celtichearts.com/php/flash

👍

I just played their version of Frogger...

I had no idea you could play flash games on the PS3. What other web based games can you play on the PS3? Also, if you are using LINUX, can you also install and run emulators so you can play the original arcade versions of games on the PS3?
