It's not on the Nationwide schedule and nobody moaned there :grumpy:

I don't know what you see in it, it's hardly that fun a track; entirely dependent on setup and ridiculously simplistic. It's an oval with a dent in it.

No, it needs some setup help to get you to not spin out, after that it's entirely driver skill.:)

Consider you have the correct setup for the track, there's only two real corners that require skill on the entire track; the esses. Everywhere else you just floor it and hold the high line which means it's a huge draft fest.

I can't go against what everybody wants but in these cars especially due to their downforce, it's just the worst race track imaginable.

Why would you ever want anything less than full downforce apart from SSRX, Daytona and Indy. I think good setups are always important although default does work well around some tracks. :)

EDIT: Whats a good time round HSR anyway? :)

HSR? Boo... too many random unexpected spins for no reason in the last turn for all drivers. Every lap there was luck about whether I'd spin or not. Most laps the car would be fine, with dirty air and tyres not affecting the car badly through there, and other laps it'd just give up on me and spin. I like the track in these cars, but the luck of the final turn ruins it.

Also expecting that Rome will probably be dropped after this season if there are dirty air issues through the kink that spin you for no reason too (such as what happened to me in S2).

Exactly, I really hate it and that's one of the contributing factors. The kink was an issue but it wasn't anywhere near as bad as that last turn at HSR.

I was a bit generous putting it back in so easily to be honest, i'd do another poll but i don't want to bother Jordan with deleting another. Might just send PM's out.

About 2 seconds slower then your times :)

Look, if you can't go through the final turn up high, go low, it's quite easy.:)

Are you actually going to race with us this season mate or are you just going to continue defending a track in the thread? ;)

Nah, going for Indy Lights, of course, if you want me to defend the track, I'm here.:)

Can't say how disappointed I would be if this is not in. It's a high speed track that really suits these cars. If you can't take the last corner well then that's down to setup I believe.

Joe has a pretty valid point about that last corner and the kink at Rome though to be fair; both can spin you out without any sort of notice in dirty air.

Well kick Rome out.
This is S3, we didn't have any complaints S1, and a few S2. It's just one of those things you have to prepare for. Like any link on the planet, takes practice to nail it.

Current score is 6-5 in favour of dropping HSR back off the schedule. Frasier sat on the fence, Litchi is undecided as he hasn't driven there and I haven't received a reply from Plux.

Well with Litchi's decision, that's 7-5 in favour of dropping HSR. SSR5 will return to round 6 👍

Disgusting. Take away one of the best races of the year just because some of you can't handle a corner. Should never have been a consideration to drop in the first place.

The only non oval race I was looking forward to. Questioning myself whether I want to be involved in S3 again. Just saying.

Its not just one person - If most people find a single corner difficult that could cause massive crashes and ruin the race for everyone! I think you need to think about everyone else more than yourself Knelly...

Agreed.

I took the corner just fine, you're supposed to let off if you're sliding, not just keep going. I'm really questioning Tom's decision to cast a vote to remove SSR5 for HSR, then he officially adds HSR, and complains about it so much, then casts another vote to get it removed again, and put SSR5 on the schedule.

What was the whole point of that?

Nobody voted for it, I put it in the schedule tentatively then gave people a chance to vote against it...

And, 3 times? what?

Whatever, I just really don't see the point of getting rid of a track that's had good clean racing for 2 consecutive races for another one that was OK.

Looks like I'm going to be out of town on the first Friday in November so we may have to knock a race off the schedule. I'll let you guys know how the schedule works out; will have to discuss with Knelly and Joe.

I think it would either be Rome (due to the kink) or SSR5 (due to the split opinion) if we knocked a regular round off; but that's something the three of us will discuss.

I'm not sure about knocking preseason because i want it to be like a rookie orientation for the following week's Brickyard 200.
