Questions and innuendos about Moderators

I guess if a mod posts something entirely off topic, another mod removes this mod's post which probably causes mayhem in the mod forum?

Or are you guys above the GTP law? I ask subtle questions, don't I?

:P

I am curious but why was tommo21 and alboking banned?

I couldn't find either of them in the Banned User Log. Strange.

Well, several mods have said in the past that they don't always need to provide a reason publicly for why a user was banned.

It happens.

T12 woke up wrong side of the bed when his alarm went off early, and instead of switching it off he knocked over his bahammer on his foot. Postman Tommo and his black and white cat Albo paid the price for knocking on the front door at the wrong time a few minutes earlier...

But wouldn't T12 have banned himself? :sly: (Thinks back to a YouTube video where an admin on a video game banned himself instead of another player with the same name).

Only a small fraction of banned members ever get their names immortalised in the BUL. And it's been even less active since this summer, so that really shouldn't come as much of a shock.

A bahammer? Sounds like he put on his indifferent shoes for the day.

It don't surprise me too much that they are not in the banned user log to be honest.

I remember Prisonermonkeys saying once that it wasn't there duty to log every banned member on there and I don't expect them to anyway.

Famine is that you?

That seriously does sound like something he would say.

How do you know if it was Terronium-12 or not? It could be Pako for all I know.

Indeed, not even Guardian is in the banned user log, and I think everybody knew who he was on here.

What I know about alboking is he was one of those annoying beggars that asked for things all the time and didn't offer anything in return, had terrible grammar and didn't seem to understand the site rules very well ether.

As for tommo21, I did a trade with him once in GT5 and I don't know if English was his first language or not, but I could not understand half the things he said.

I know this much about these guys, but I don't really know why they where banned though.

I can't ban myself. Or daan, T-12, Pako, Famine, Jordan, et al. We can only ban downstream, not lateral or up.

I know. I was just joking.

EDIT: Is there anyone that helps Jordan with the coding/programming/managing the site? Keeping the servers up? I think there were a few mods that help with that stuff.

@TB Hmm. I guess it was just a few people that were allowed to test GTP12. Nevermind.
Test a bit after Jordan had most everything done, yes. Assist with server uptime and coding, no.
What about my question @TB? (Or anyone else who knows)
Everyone on the staff either knows or can easily find out. The reason you didn't receive a response is that it doesn't concern you as it's between said member and the staff. My apologies for being so blunt but if it's not in the BUL (and even then you only get a small part of the picture) and you weren't involved in any of the violations, don't expect much more than that.

I see now, don't feel bad your just telling it like it is, nothing wrong with that. :)

I don't mean to be blunt ether, but is things like what you said the reason some of these new banned user log entries, namely eminembeastfan2's entry, are not as descriptive as they used to be?

When the staff takes the time to update the BUL, it's usually with something descriptive, but admittedly occasionally cryptic, about the user or their posting habits.

In ebf2's case, I'd link you to the post that pertained to the BUL entry but he went on a ......... fest so I can't. Basically, he's better at driving than every one of us because he knows how.

Except he isn't.

Typically, asking will take you right out of the running.

So, if, in a hypothetical situation, one were to specifically ask to not be a moderator, would they instantly become one?

...

What happens if Jordan hates someone with a passion, but all of the other mods are calling for them to be made a mod? Is it a dictatorship or a democracy?

Also, does Jordan keep alt accounts so that he can go incognito on the site? I would if I were him...

Sounds like you have already tried.
No need to try. You, and 99.x% of the other members, have a Warn button next to each of your posts. My fellow Mods don't. Therefore, no can haz ban. :)

We are more than happy to respect your wishes to remain in the general populace.

Jordan loves all. Just don't piss him off.

But seriously, he's the one that ultimately appoints staff so he has the final say.

It's no secret that most of the staff have secondary accounts for the purpose of testing forum features. Unless there are any volunteers? :mischievous:
