Bringing up the SS debacle again...

Anyone else notice it extending to other cars as well? Buy the 2003 Celica. Narrator Lady announces it as "Celica Super Sport I" or whatever.

Hm.

That's pretty bad, considering that the "SS" in the Celica name stands for "Super Strut"...there's no substitute for ignorance, I guess.

One interesting tidbit I found was this

So it points out that this is the free car for the month of October, yet we got the full 7 cars from the pack already. Is there going to be a free car, separate from the monthly DLC every month?

That would definitely tie up with the car pass wording of seven cars per pack. You would only be paying for 6 if the seventh was to be free.

Nice about the V8 Supes getting their proper sounds, but a shame that the F-Type R has been overlooked.

The way they did Rivals in 4 was a quick and easy way to make money for a while but I like it much better now. Lower payouts but you can get paid while hotlapping any car on any track and then you have the free play mode where you can get additional credits by adding AI and using mods to increase payouts so no real problem earning credits, especially with the VIP bonus.

I can't even begin to think of how much more credits I would have had in FM4 if I was getting paid while hot lapping but it would have been several million for sure.

especially with the 250k payouts for beating one person when you get to the higher parts of the leaderboards. Sandbagging was the thing to do back then, now not so much lol.

Yeah my buddy and I spent an entire evening on one of the Maple Valley events where we would just run fast enough to beat each other and would go back and forth building different and more powerful cars as needed along the way each time getting the 250k. I don't know what we came away with but was in the millions for sure.

Ah brilliant idea, wish I would have thought of that :(

I am a bit curious about the leaderboard wipe later today. The site say
· We have addressed an issue with drivetrain swaps that was causing some cars (including well-known examples such as the 1968 Abarth 595 esseesse, the 1965 MINI Cooper S, and the 1975 FIAT X1/9), to perform beyond their PI classification. To coincide with this fix, we are performing a wipe of all leaderboard times set with a car that used a drivetrain swap. We expect the leaderboard wipe will happen Tuesday (10/6) afternoon. With this content update in place, cars that were previously banned from multiplayer will now be allowed back in. In addition times set in cars that feature drivetrain swaps will be allowed to post times to leaderboards.
It does not mention the Mazda RX3 which is being used everywhere but I assume that one will be wiped as part of the process.

The thing that I am unsure about is if they are going to also be wiping all the times where someone used a mod to post the time. Some of these could be difficult to find unless they have some sort of flag in the data they can look at for it. Some cars stick out when a mod is used like the Indy car for example. It has no upgrades that increase its power so when you see one on the leaderboard that shows more than 641hp the person driving it has used a mod to get more power and post that time. Last I looked I saw 3 of them at the top of Daytona.

Hopefully those will be wiped as well

Heh, I remember figuring out that you could manually set your next Rival (instead of the game automatically setting it, usually to the next-fastest person in your car club/friends list), so I would just set it to the very next time, typically .001 seconds faster than my current one, and sometimes even tied. Then I'd just run fast enough to pip their ghost across the line. Rinse, repeat. At Sonoma and the TGTT, I must've made about 8 million each.

I suppose it depends on if the RX-3 tunes are using a drivetrain swap. I don't think they are, so they're likely to stay.

I maintain there must be some player-side tampering going on there, because I definitely haven't been able to get a non-dirty lap experimenting with mods. They do mention some Boost mods weren't dirtying laps though, so maybe they've found it, and will be wiping those times. Here's hoping. 👍

Yep, I did that too. The maple valley short in muscle cars brought me several million and then when they wiped the muscle cars off the board I got to do it again due to having used a King Cobra to post my final time ;)

One of my friends was curious so he built one the other day to see how it was done and it was the AWD swap that was the key to making it fast. He went into a lot of detail as to how it was done and what parts did what. It was just crazy. I think he said he got it to like 197 mph while staying in the lowest class and very little HP. Right now that car is dominating the leaderboards on most if not all tracks in E class with impossible times for an E class car so it definitely needs to go.

Nope no tampering required. I decided to try and figure out how they did it both so I could tell if it was a bug/glitch and so I would not do it by accident and mess up my LB times.

I took an LMP out in P class on Daytona where I had not posted a time and ran some tests in free play. It wasn't long before I found an easy way to boost HP and post a clean lap. most mods did give a dirty lap but some of them did not and it is those few that do not which those people have applied to the cars that have posted to the top of the board with additional HP.

In my case I did not want to post a time that would stay so I used one of the slower LMPs for testing and then when I confirmed the issue I went back with a super car in rivals mode and posted a better time to erase the one which used the mod. After having done that it is clear how those who have did it managed it and I know how to avoid doing it by accident while still being able to use mods to get extra credits.

Hopefully they have some method of knowing which cars used mods and removing all of those as well. If not then I thinka full LB wipe would be in order.

Thanks for the patch update. Surprised they still haven't fixed the invisible dip on Lime rock the only left on the entire map. Oh well not a big deal, just surprised it isn't fixed.
Looks like most of the updates are heading in the right direction.
Wonder if the hellcat paint bug is fixed. Where the passenger door gets painted when you paint the driver door. Or something strange like that. I just found that last night.

Leaderboards being wiped in certain events will be interesting. Luckily I did not spend too much time in the rival events.

Oh yeah it was easy to make millions in a couple minutes in F4 by sandbagging. I used to do that ALL the time in all the events. I noticed it doesn't do much good to sandbag in F6. haha It is still insanely easy to make money in F6 especially as a VIP.

It sounds like they are wiping all times by cars with a drivetrain swap so if the RX3s are swapped then they should be wiped...

I've been hotlapping with non-glitched cars anticipating a wipe so I'm curious to see where my times end up after the wipe

I am interested in seeing this too since I run hardcore mode and I never use a leaderboard car ever. The few events I have actually tried to put effort into, I have usually been within the top 100 in hardcore mode. A couple of them I am with the top 50 hardcore. My C Class 300SL Gulwing does fairly well. I would say at least above average.

Finished up the BRZ Livery over the weekend, got a lot done. Color changed to Black, Suzuka circuit logo finished, AP Racing logo in white created, redid the NGK and PIAA logos, added more trim to the rear bumper (center section) and more. Available now.

Excellent. Been waiting for this treat. Will pick up this design tonight for sure.

So I just searched for the logitech car pack on the XBOX marketplace, and it's there! Search 'Logitech' in the Add-ons section of the store.
Edit: I installed the pack, yet the cars aren't in the game. Gonna try restarting the XBOX to see if the patch shows up.
Double Edit: Restarting the XBOX worked. The update is now downloading.

haha nice. Bet its a huge relief off your shoulders to finally have that car done and all the individual sponsors.

It was like this with Forza 3 to Forza 4, I had so many decals by the end of Forza 4 it was ridiculous. On a new system you get to create them all over again plus new ones.

I wish I had done a few decent paint jobs in Horizon 2, but I barely used the liver editor in that game, it would've gave me a head start. Oh well, on to the next one!

Yup I went through the same thing with F1, F2, F3, and F4 on the Ken Gushi drift Mustang. I had to create EVERY sponsor on this car and there were a LOT. I haven't made this car since F3 or F4.
I have been tempted to do it again but I just don't know. There are an insane amount of sponsors on this car.

Wait, am I right in thinking the update changed the sounds of the 350 is what you're talking about? Because that car sounded pretty terrible before.
Yes, I posted the patch notes in the page before this, if you want to have a read.
