How are you guys hitting the Affinity limits on the manufacturers?, is it just by racing their cars generally or something specific?, my highest so far is Lotus with 19 and then BMW with 14

I just race with them a lot online, some people who are just going for the affinity levels will use the mods which give bonus affinity XP and then race a reasonably long race offline with them on.

Just from racing I currently have 17 manufacturers at max level, and a further 10 between 20-25. It takes 372000 XP to reach max level, so now I think about it, that's a lot of racing .

I've grabbed almost all of my max affinities just from online racing. Once I find a car that works well overall in a class, I stick with it. Plus, the companies I've maxed out tend to offer a wide range for different uses. BMW covered a lot, Ford has something for every need, etc etc. McLaren was taken care of trying to win the 312 P. I just hit the max in Ferrari, though that was due to the special events in career that use their cars, as well as all the Lime Rock lapping.

I use affinity mods now, I maxed quite a few out just completing career, without really using a bunch of affinity mods. Now I'm trying to at least get to 30 manufactures maxed, I've been using affinity mods. I really don't do that many long races, I mainly do free play races. I use all the majority of affinity mods on normal free play, but I make sure and save the 100% ones for long races, to get the most out of them. If it's a faster car, you can do Daytona oval and set it to 50 laps. If it's a Subaru, or something better suited for not so high speed, I do 30-50 laps on any track I feel like. Be sure if you use 100% affinity mods, to do the math so you aren't wasting one. When you assign them at the begining of a race, it tells you how much they will give you. It takes 15k affinity exp per level, so sometimes you can get by with 2 100% ones and like a 30%. You also have to factor in the affinity the race will give you. I'm up to 26 of them maxed.

How does everybody feel about all these old cars being put into the DLC car parks that people are complaining about how nobody will use them? Lots of complaints about them lately.

Yeah but you have to look at what people ACTUALLY want. A common thread is that people seem to want moar supacars. But why?

I expect heaps of people to hate the cars every month.

I'm guess it's because those who are complaining about the old cars are wanting more of these machines or anything similar, cool and fast as them.

For me personally I don't mind the old cars, especially ones I haven't heard of before. I mean don't get me wrong, I will love to see more exotic cars get added, but over the years I've grown more towards cars from the past and early 2000's (anything that you can tune, such as street cars we see on the road, is my favorite). I love how T10 focuses on adding diversity into their games, especially when fans requests cars that not everybody knows which I like (you have my respect guys). :D

So to those who (from youtube and anywhere else outside of GTP) are crying over these particular cars they'll never drive, keep crying? It is of course very amusing haha.

There is a mixture of both old and new cars in F6. No one is every happy, you have one side who loves newer cars and the other that likes old cars and some who like both. At the end of the day we are getting cars, some great and interesting ones and nothing to complain about. If we got NO cars then that might be worth complaining about but in the meantime enjoy.

I don't know, a lot of people want different things. I think they are doing a great job of mixing a little bit of everything in. If they had packs with all super cars, you'd have people complaining there was too many super cars.

I look at it as, there could be no more car packs and I'm perfectly happy with the way the game is right now, even though we all know there's a lot more coming. For anyone that's complaining that they bought the car pass and they wish they wouldn't of because they don't like the cars, that just makes me laugh.(I'm not talking about anyone here of course). I'm enjoying driving cars I never would of thought I'd like, or cars I never really knew much about.

The problem with some people, I don't think they actually try some of the cars. They just want the fastest coolest looking car so they can get online and cause massive wrecks because they don't know how to control it. I'm pretty easy to please I guess, I think most people are really. You read a lot of the same people complaining "I'm never buying the car pass again", or "This is the last time I'm giving Turn 10 my money". I feel like "Why don't you walk outside and tell it to a tree, because it cares more then I, or anybody else does what you do or don't spend your money on." Sorry for ranting lol.

On a side note, sure there are some cars I would like to see in the game, but I'm 100% happy with the game the way it is. I think it's great they are introducing cars they've never had before into the game. Oh, and the one car I would love to see? The Sauber C9 of course, so it can knock the 787b off its leaderboard pedestal, and it's the baddest 🤬 race car ever built.👍:gtpflag:

Strictly speaking, from a decades standpoint, the vast majority of FM6's car list is from the last two. Sure, that's largely due to the race car livery duplicates, but the point remains. That these packs aren't favouring the latest wallpaper subjects for teens isn't a problem I'm too concerned with.

If people really aren't interested in something as utterly nuts as a ridiculously wide, tube-framed V8 race car, because it isn't the latest bigger-winged version of McLaren's middle child, well, I question how much they really are interested in automotive culture in general, or if they just focus on one tiny aspect of it (and wouldn't be better served with a game that sticks to that, like Driveclub).

We shouldn't underestimate that Microsoft has always catered to mainstream expectations, as one would expect from one of the world's largest corporations. I bet there would be more of a general openness towards the recent DLC if Forza was developed by some small independent studio targeting a more "informed" niche crowd. However, Forza is backed by Microsoft publishing and advertising the game as a mainstream product, but the developers are obviously real petrol heads doing their best to combine the best of both worlds. One the one hand, it's a large studio with the budget to create a technologically advanced product matching Triple-A standards of today. On the other hand, Turn 10 knows their car history and they probably feel obligated to confront the rather ignorant "latest and greatest" supercar bias many games have taken. If anything can spread the word about classic cars today, it's an advanced game reaching the masses like FM6 does. I'd also like to see a Ferrari 488 GTB in FM6, but it's such an obvious car that I'll gladly wait another month if Turn 10 has some classics to include instead.

I also believe that the increasing success of Forza Horizon has provided Turn 10 with an opportunity to go more underground with Forza Motorsport. After all, "motorsport" suggests an emphasis on the proud traditions of the automotive world, and why not capitalize on this opportunity now that Forza Horizon provides the open road for all the road cars people know and want? I think it's a perfect strategy made possible by expanding the scope and reach of the franchise.

BMW affinity is maxed out! Good lord, driving the M1 Procar is a blast.
Next up, Mercedes-Benz.
I have one more short race to get my badge for 30 affinities, I think it unlocks another 3 part platinum badge too, not sure. :)
Edit: no it just unlocks the platinum allegiance badge.
I think I'm done maxing affinities for a bit. I did too many races today.

I much prefer the old stuff, Supercars don't interest me in the slightest. They will never be able to keep everyone happy, I think they do a very good job of finding the middle ground.

Oh I am super-glad I did not get the car pass and got the VIP instead - at least those cars I own and love to drive, upgrade and tune.

The Car Pass has over 90% cars that I won't ever be interested in driving.. but theeenn again, that's just my opinion. The FM5 Car Pass is far more exciting.

I wish they'd only release these kind of cars in paid DLC and give us the other everyday, old and umm.. not so desirable cars through free monthly DLC.

Take the Feb DLC pack... boring as [insert reference here].

But "speedster" "911"... Without those old humdrum cars, your avatar wouldn't have come to be. Take a VW, develop it. Make it lower. Make it faster. Stir for 50years and you have a 911 GT3.

Take a V12 Ferrari engine. Stick it in a gentleman's convertible. Take it to the track and smoke everyone. "Someone" comes along and wants to buy into what you have. You brush them off. They develop their own car and pulverize yours. Let it sink in for 40 years and modernize it. Let dreams fade and decide to rebuild anew 10 years later. There's your Ford GT.

As mentioned, T10 are educating buyers of this game. When some people realize, these were some of the top shelf cars back then. Some were the family grocery getter. A person and persons, had ideas to get to the grocery shop quicker.

Nostalgia factor 10 over here. I'm happy. Some people also have to remember, some of these 2016/2017 model cars may be going through the virtual building process right now. Patience.

I actually wouldn't mind that, but gotta make sure to put some modern sporty ones in there as well. :D

Might be a stupid question, but why RUF got cut off? I am looking to those tbh.

Well, I'm sure T10 went to great lengths to acquire the Porsche license, so not much sense in including RUF as well since they're practically the same. On a side note though, I miss RUF to death. Luckily, still have FM5 installed. ;)

I'm happy to drive anything, but these modern hyper cars the kids are into are either iterations of existing cars, or short runs from unproven manufacturers. Why want that when you can get something more unique from the automotive world?

Well, I hope they don't ever ditch the hypercars cos' those are serious fun to drive and command really good precision driving skills to get the most fun out of them. Though when you put it that way, I can understand the appeal of it all. However, my primary reason for getting driving games/sims on a console is to try out cars you rarely get to see, let alone own.

Hmm, that's is an interesting way of looking at it. Maybe somewhere down the line, I might try these cars out. Problem is the "stock roster" is already really really good + the VIP and F&F cars. Those make for excellent additions to an already killer roster. And Porsche's around the corner... so for me personally, there's little appeal to the Car Pass. But again, I'm keeping an open mind about it.

Heh. The supercars are the group that drive the most similarly. No wonder some are quick to write off the entire car roster as "feeling the same".

To each their own and all, but I like driving nearly anything in a racing game. The new Sunbeam is something I'm probably as unlikely to drive in real life as the latest computer-controlled wizardry from Ferrari. There are exceptions of course; the WWII VW's in GT5/6 were too novelty for my driving tastes, only one-drive curios instead of left-field options, and the endless permutations of RX-7/GT-R/etc in those games means driving one is nigh-on identical to driving the rest, but I'm excited to drive each and every car in the new pack. Then I get to tune them. The options are endless.

Might be a stupid question, but why RUF got cut off? I am looking to those tbh.

It may be a licensing issue extending past Porsche. Though really, the Porsche deal probably is the main reason. We don't know, and it's unlikely we ever will, sadly.

I believe I said this some time ago about fh2, the way I see the car pass is like so:

car pass = more cars = GOOD = I buy pass :)

FH2 is actually where I drew the line with the car pass. Most of it was reintroducing vehicles into the series. I figured I could just wait for the next iteration, and not pay for the cars. I know they got a fair amount of new content, but it juts wasn't worth it to me.

I'm glad that all happened, however, as it only added to the FM6 car list.

I think it's been fantastic how all of the FM6 packs so far have been nothing but new cars.

Me too. I took a chance with it, hoping that this would be the case. I figured with most of it out of the way with what was implemented into FM5, and FH2, that there would be a good chance that we'd see new vehicles. Glad I wasn't wrong!

Perhaps T10 have decided to add returners straight to the future base games. There will almost certainly be more returners for FH3 I'm betting.
