I spent an hour yesterday wrestling with the RR Wraith around Brands Hatch. Using @Im_Lukas tune, I was able to get my time down to 1:42.9. Instead of getting frustrated, I just gave it up as a lost cause.

Instead, I tuned up all my Lancias in an effort to level them up. The Fulvia is E300, the Stratos is D400, the Delta is C500, the 037 is B600, the Delta S4 is A700, and the Beta Montecarlo Turbo is R885 (the max you can tune it.) I ran them in the hoppers all evening. I think my affinity level is up to 15.

I'm having fun doing this, and except for the usual immaturity in the hoppers, online racing has actually been relatively stress free. The Montecarlo has been a revelation. Despite being down 15PP in the class, it's a fun car to drive.

It is super-frustrating.. tell me about it! I couldn't even touch 1:40. Go to the official forum and there's a thread titled "Beat me to win the...". People are posting about tunes over there that's helping them break past the 1:40 barrier. Worth checking out.

I've given up on this for now though... even after 10-12 laps, it just seems like a silly drill. Those times are kind of impossible, on a pad at least.

Found these on this guy's twitter. Not sure how he got hold of them, but he said its 'too long to explain on twitter and that he'd DM people how he got them' Asked him for one a short while ago, hasn't replied yet.

Any thoughts on how he got them? Early access maybe, or you guys think they're fake?

They're Forza Horizon 2 screenshots with the Forza Motorsport 6 watermark photoshopped on top. Same with the Long Beach pics, although they are rather convincing to the untrained eye.

This is the very same thing I thought as soon as I saw that screenshot as well. Though I guarantee that car will be in FM6 though (because it was in FH2 obviously, haha). ^^

Also about the Long Beach screenshots. If you look closely, you can't see the driver's helmet (I mean it should at least be big enough in order to be seen within the interior). Why haven't I noticed that before? It could indeed be fake?

Straight porting FH2 models to F6 is a no brainer and I applaud this.

However what possible use is a trophy truck. In Forza 6. On Forza 6 tracks.

I feel this is like the Local Motors fighter thing. Its cute but does it serve a purpose in a series?

Does the Caddy limo? The Terradyne? The GMC van? Their purpose is to add variety.

If they even did something stupid like trophy trucks rivals around long beach or a way to ONLY run trophy trucks in free play then I'd be ok with it but I doubt they will even do this bare minimum so my enthusiasm for new cars is tempered.

With this car variety and count, I don't think proper attention will ever be given to getting the unique performance/handling and audio characteristics 100% spot on for each car.

Too bad. It really is. :(

Personally this is a bit of gripes FM6 currently has:

1. No dynamic time, weather. I know 60 FPS. But personally i would rather have them dynamic. It adds not just immersion but also race strategy and endurance race.

2. No wind noises on speed. Not a huge deal, but i felt like the race has something missing from there.

3. The narrator, instead of explaining each car description, it rather explains the general series said car in. Kind of tiring TBH. The Forzavista itself is epic.

4. I really hope T10 can do more creativity on the replays. Blur effects, camera angles, etc.

5. The Race/Menu soundtrack is quite good at a times. But god the Intros. Worst in the whole FM series tbh.

6. There are some Race HUD quirks. No turbo/KERS bar makes the driving kind of lacking something (the system itself are there. Its just there is no indicator).

7l Also the TCS, ASM, ABS, etc HUD indicator should have been greyed out when not used, creating the anticipation if those aids are used mid race (like the car indicator lamp turned off, then turned on when neccesary). Not completely vanishes.

8. They should have an AI class selector (kinda like PCars, sorry). Racing an LMP1 Versus a bunch of Indy Cars felt really off.

9. Lastly, no. I dont need to tell me a "Good Pass" or "Good Overtake". It looked silly and out of place.

I spent the evening maxing out affinity levels for Lancia. Finally got it up to level 25. Next up is Holden. I've got the Torana up to E300, VL Commodore at D400, and the Monaro GTS 350 at C500. I already liked the Monaro, but at C500, it's just about perfect. In online racing rooms of 14-20 racers, I routinely finished 3rd of 4th. My most disappointing finish was at Bathurst. I was in a Holden, I had to do good for the home crowd. I was in 2nd place right up to the final corner, but I left my braking just a tiny bit too late, allowed a couple cars inside of me and went from 2nd to 4th in the last corner.

More content does have a tendency to sacrifice some accuracy. I think FM6 handles accurate performance fairly well though. I'm more worried about the car-specific blunders they haven't fixed despite how little effort it would take. I recently drove the '09 Audi RS6 and noticed that the headlight LEDs were flashing crazily depending on the viewing angle. There are too many issues like that having persisted after five months of patching. Out of synch tachometers deserve some attention too. Minor issues? Maybe, but they all accumulate to leave an increasing quantity over quality experience.

1. Oh boy.. hold on there... dynamic weather would mean they would have to dumb down track detail and car sounds even more. Careful what you wish for. ;)

2. I agree, the wind and road noise effect was great in FM4, pretty good in FM5, but in 6... where did it go? You just hear a little bit of extra bass from the woofer.. what the heck is that?! Boggles the mind how they could overlook something like that. FM4 would drown out the engine sound at really high speeds, just like real life. Brilliant!

3. True - it's boring. I just go to FV to check out the interiors and take photos. Even the engines sound so basic and scaled back. Remember FM4's Autovista engine sounds?

4. Camera angles - oh yes. Angles that capture the soul and personality of cars. GT's are the best in the console industry.

9. You can turn that off.

That's the thing Nielsen! I think FM7 may again be a content fest and they have been slow in resolving FM6 visual bugs.. God knows what kind of bugs F7 will have. I absolutely do not like this quantity when quality has clearly taken a hit - both audio and visual.

Drive the same track in F5 - see the detail and wow factor there, you might be surprised. Sure, less cars on the track and wierd tire smoke effects but dammit man, look at that vivid car and track detail!

What is the point of collecting so many cars when the devs failed to capture the unique distinction in sounds, stock and upgrade? I am certainly not motivated to collect cars and modify them as I know they will not exhibit that unique audio character an upgraded car does. Things were developing nicely on that front in FM2 and 4. Many cars had the upgrade sound missing in F5 too, just like FM3, though the ones that did sound more raw and aggressive were breathtaking to listen to.

Have you heard the LaFerrari in DC? My God man, it sounds nearly 100% spot on from every perspective. They got the tone and pitch right during acceleration/deceleration and off-throttle. I know T10 is going to great lengths to record these samples, but how they are being reproduced in the game is where the problem is. There are just too many cars, and unfortunately the LaF and P1 are two cars that got half-butchered since FM5.

Off-topic there, apologies! But you get the idea...they've bitten off more than they can chew. And it bit them in the ass for sure.

Well, if these screens are genuine then this

implies that we'll be getting a new version of Long Beach with ramps (skip to 26:00 for the start of the actual broadcast)

I really wish Forza 7 have a rally tracks and cars XD. Especially those on rain.

So epic. The rain effects in Forza 6 are the best in industry. It even taken account of the puddle physics, which i believe no game have ever done that before!

That's why I asked, they should've released it this week.

They usually release DLC on the first Tuesday of the month, which would have been last Tuesday the 2nd. They decided to release the Feb DLC early however, as they wanted it out ready for the Daytona 24h. Most likely a deal they had in place with Ford.

It's kinda odd to me how they released the Alpinestars Car Pack on the same month as the January car pack, but at the same time I don't mind because hey, more new cars the better right? ^v^

Re cars & tracks being more detailed in FM5 than FM6: Over on Forzacentral, BADNED has stated that the detail reduction in FM6 was done in order to make the wet weather feasible.

1. Different strokes. I'd rather they kept the 60fps limit: GT6's constant framerate issues are so much more frustrating to me. They could scavenge the performance from other areas of course – reducing field size or graphic quality – but I don't see them doing that. There's also the issue that, like it or not, variable time and weather are seemingly minority interests for the fanbase. Judging by how many people vehemently oppose rain tracks in the hoppers, anyway...

4. Yeah, I could use more of those. And a return to more info available in the replays themselves.

8. If you're racing an LMP1 against Indy Cars, I'm guessing you've upgraded it to put it into X.

9. Those pop-ups are appreciated by the casuals; my girlfriend likes them, for instance. I'm not sure if they still contribute to winnings though, as they did in FM4. As mentioned, they can be turned off.
