No. But you won't be able to use the Zonda anymore.

Once Manny gives me the lowdown on the new event he has in mind for round 2, I'll pass that information onto you and everyone reading the thread and wanting to participate. 👍

Thanks a lot! Count me in and keep me informed please ;).

At the request of the pole sitter, round 2 is as follows...

1967 Corvette at Road America, using the RT tune.

The first page will be updated with full information tomorrow or Tuesday, round two begins right after the event is posted.

Round two ends on December 16th.

The final round (Round 5) will be a Green Hell time attack, the pole sitter of the fourth round determines all other parameters for the final event.

Bugger. Car pack hasn't been released for the Asian copy of Shift yet to my knowledge, so I don't have/can't get a Corvette. If it comes out in the next couple days I'll give it a go, but otherwise I think I'll have a time of 99'99.999....

Damn. That stinks Imari. I hope they release it soon. :(

The Vette Stingray on Road America fantastic, I'm glad Terronium has done the tune for the Vette, it is sooo good now. I'm going to test it on RA now, we'll see what times we get Manny.

Something told me you'd appreciate that... :)

TO NITROUS OR NOT TO NITROUS
that is the question, is it more noble to lay off the juice as we go, or shall we throw caution to the wind and hammer the hell out of the NOS button in our pursuit of glory?
great track and car choices looking forward to round 2 :)

That would be up to Manny. :P

Yeah, I forgot to mention that to Terronium... I generally don't use it, but it IS tempting having that little bottle symbol sitting there all innocent looking right after you've botched your corner exit.
I'd rather we didn't use the laughing gas for the competition, and to remove the black temptation I uninstalled it from the Vette. Hopefully that's agreeable to everyone.:)

Road America is definately not one of my stronger tracks like London River is, but I enjoy the car and the challenge!:)

2:09:650 BEST TIME TODAY
wish i could open the trunk and strap some sandbags over rear wheel wells, hit every corner perfect except one, i have no cam so i cannot prove time,

I haven't installed NOS on any of my cars (makes me go all funny LoL) Only time I install it is to up grade to the work's and then it disappears.
Time so far with the Vette on RA is 2.10.310 but there is more if I had some sandbags in the trunk to.

Grrr. Patch came out, so I downloaded it from the Singapore PSN Store. Nothing. Deleted, downloaded from the Hong Kong PSN Store. Nothing. Deleted EVERYTHING, reinstalled and still nothing.

I give up. The game just isn't worth the hassle it takes to play any more. Good luck guys. See you in GT5.

Yeek! It looks like I'm the one playing catch-up on this track!

I was mildly pleased to have run a 2:11.00! I just haven't been able to put it all together yet. Always a couple of corners where I mess it up... Glad I have a bit of time off for practice! :)

Imari, I'm sorry to see you having trouble, because who really knows when GT5 will actually be released. Maybe you'll get desperate enough for your racing fix to give Shift another go.;)

That sucks, man. What happened, did it corrupt your data or was it nothing showed up at all?

Nah, just it doesn't show me any of the new cars. Spoils a lot of the fun.

I'll still be using shift to hotlap the 'ring, cos it's super fun. Shift has it's moments, I've just been getting more of the "this is a badly made game" moments than "this is a fantastic experience" moments recently. I'll probably get bored in a few weeks and tinker with it some more.

Anyway, enough of thread derail.

Welcome to the second round of the RT Time Trial World Tour Competition.

Round 2 brings us to the famed Road America, a famed track which has hosted races since the 1950's and is currently one of the home tracks in the ALMS series. A further congratulations goes to everyone who remained in the competition, so without further ado Round 2 is as follows...

The competition is open to all players of NFS Shift but there are rules and regulations and as such will be described down below...

1. This competition is limited to the use of the 1967 Chevrolet Corvette
2. You must use the settings provided by RT C2 CERV
3. All assists must be turned OFF, except for ABS I can't judge that as I have it on myself, use such of your own volition.
4. Handling model must be set to Professional.
5. Damage effects must be set to Full.
6. Transmission is another to be decided amongst yourself.
7. NOS is not allowed.

- Your target time is 2:09.610, however, to stay in the competition you must at least set a lap time of at least 2:11:607 to remain in the competition.

Round 2 begins December 15th (today!) and ends 11:59 December 17th.

- Paid for in part by Renown Tuning.

It's quiet around here... too quiet...:odd:

So, I'll make a bit of noise by saying the time to beat has dropped a bit... not by much though... 2:09.42 The Road America track is kinda kickin' my a**

Road America took a bit to get a handle on, the Vette is a Beast of a car specially driving at 10/10's. Three time trials I ran times were -2.10.310 - 2.10.440 and 2.09.880.
Did a final run last night and my "Final Time" is 2.09.690.
Manny you got me again by 2/10's. Well done m8t

But unless I'm mistaken you still have 29 hours till midnight EST... Don't let little things like job, family obligations, vacation travel, eating, etc, get in the way of what's really important!

Heh. This man always speaks the truth. :dopey:

Got to pay the bills some how :grumpy: Wife won't talk to me :indiff: Haven't had a vacation for years  and I'm Anorexic :ill:

But what is really important is trying to beat you guys and having a ball trying to. 👍

Remember I'm in Australia and we are 15 to 18 hrs a head of you in the states, or do I go by US est.

Well, I don't think you should be penalized for living in the antipodes!

It's 12:30 pm Dec 17th where you are right? So we're 16 hours behind you on the US East Coast. It's still yesterday here!

So unless I misunderstood things, you've got lots of time left... that is unless you're sick of sliding into the weeds on turn 12 of Road America. :)

Ok m8t, I'll give it another go to try and beat your time and NITROVIOUS time as well.
Finish work in 2hrs so I'll try again then. That 12th corner is no problem now, its changed to the first corner, must be trying to take it to fast. :D

Yeah, I've had that relapse several times myself...

I've dropped a few 100ths off the previous time so now my best is 2:09.39...

It's much easier on my camera battery to film the replay and include only the best lap. This one would have been better except for the early turn-in on the final turn. :banghead:

would be fun to do this but I run the game on my PC and the old cars are not available yet. I use a keyboard which is fun but a wheel would be great. I love the Vette, the old vette would be a gas to drive but I have a really tough time with the high HP rear drivers. I cant keep the rear wheels hooked up and the rear wheel hop is a mess. Road America is one of my favorites and 2:049 is my best but have not backed it up. Several in the 2:05's. The GTR is my favorite car but cant touch the vette on Road America.

Great times guys, you are tearing it up. Looking in from the outside.

Thanks!

I honestly can't imagine how difficult it would be to do this without a wheel!

A lot of people say the force feedback in Shift isn't very good, but I've found that when the car is tuned correctly (like this Vette), the FFB is excellent! You can absolutely feel what the car is doing (or is about to do), through the wheel. You don't get that with a keyboard or joystick, so it's equally amazing to me the times you put up! 👍

My thoughts exactly, I don't know how they drive them with a keyboard, joystick or even a controller, I couldn't. You get so much more out of a good wheel's FFB. 👍 :)

Great Vid Manny, good lap to, took it right to the edge on turn 12. what I like to see. Wish I had a video camera.
