Rinsky's 2021 MSN / Rinsky's 2022 Final Tour Archives

I can understand your wanting to battle but when I saw you exit slightly wide after the chicane and drop 1 second, I managed to breathe for the first time during the race. There is always a chance to battle the next 3 weeks.

This league is so much more enjoyable, more fun, than Sport Mode and the F.I.A. stuff. You should win Spa in an MR layout but I won't let up either.
Spa will take 90 minutes of pure concentration racing in the wet. I doesn't seem like that there is more traction off the racing line like there should be. I did find 1 exit at Tokyo in the damp where even though everyone said that there were no high grip lines that had much better traction on exit. Found nothing like that at Spa yet.

Sounds like Tokyo was a good time👍🏻 Not only did I get to chop the wood, but I also got to clean the gutters🤣

Spa is my FAV track to drive, F1 @ Spa is the top of my bucket list. Le mans is 2nd😉👍🏻 Spa wet🤔🙄That's ridiculous🤣 This will be the longest 90 mins of the season😆 I would be up for a dry, off-schedule Exhibition race, @CW👉🏼hint hint😉😆
I'm heading to the lobby, if no one is there, I'll open a practice only room. Our new drivers, friendo me and come hang out. Last one brings the BEER🤗🍻😆

There's a reason I gave so much warning of this race. I have driven all the other 6 tracks / layouts in the wet. None of them hold a candle to Spa in the wet. Yeah Red Bull Ring is difficult but, in reality the wet conditions just amplify the already difficult braking zones. Spa in the wet is almost feels like driving a completely different track.

There is a little more Grip off line but, it's not enough to make for Spa's critical best line in most areas of the track. So your forced to say on the slicker polished off best line. Don't forget TCS is available. I don't think anyone would blame you for using it. The first setting is weak enough that your still requires to very mindful of your throttle input.

Yes the difficulty Spa ramps up to ridiculous in the wet. Just be glad GTS doesn't have puddling. This will also be the last 90 minute race of the series. I wanted to make it a rememberable one. The last 2 races race will be plus 2 hour events.

An exhibition is not likely if GT7 comes out on time March 4th. I don't have a PS5 yet. Both due to the price tag and availability. So I have to make room on my PS4 by removing GTS unfortunately. This series is scheduled to the weekend before release.

Oh if being available every other week means your going to miss Blue Moon Bay Oval race as well. Then I have 2 car suggestions for you. One the Porsche 911 the other Honda NSX. Both these cars were fast in the Sport Mode wet race at Spa a few weeks ago. They should also run well at Laguna Sega. The 911 would be the better choice for there.

What times are we looking at for Spa? I'm just over 7min🤣🤣🤣 Just kidding. I'm just over 3min. Can do 2:50s easy if I can keep from spinning on the last turn🤬 If you're familiar with RL Spa, racing in the wet, there are a few places that will always be slick🤫🤫🤫 I testes the Lancer and the Atenza. I'm looking for braking and handling for this one. Speed wont matter...Fatsone. Or I guess we have a new front runner, Qtip👍🏻 The F480 was good if you can keep it under you in those few 'Always Slick' spots. Fastone's car... I 🤬 hate Porsche. But I ran the in-game "Boxer" series and was surprisingly decent. I may run the 911, that may be a challenge 90min in the rain. NSX I was looking at but haven't gotten to it. The 911 will be awesome at Laguna, but I've got the 480 down.
Before I moved to So. Oregon, I lived about 40 miles from Laguna. Every year I would get 2 "All Access" pass for the 3 days. It was a deal; pit pass, driver access etc. for $80. I would take my friends when HQ didn't want to go. For $100 (donated to charity) you can take 2 laps on the track, IN YOUR OWN CAR👍🤗🤗 That's about a 6 story drop😳 Your buthole puckers🤣 We would sit there at the drop and watch the race. I RealyFukn miss going. There's 2 mutli-class races there every year And last year they brought Indy back😳🤗 And I'm 500 miles away now😒😒

I am running 2:50's flat right now, I dont expect to find much more time, I guess I will have to try to run a mistake free race if I want a shot at the front.

Why don't you find out how far you are from Portland Raceway then. A lot of road course will allow you to drive the track for a fee. It's how they make money when there is no events.

We live at the opposite end of the state. My back keeps me from traveling very far or we would go for Indy. I heard Nascar is coming somewhere in Oregon. Not much into that.
Driving at Laguna was just for the event. They donated to proceeds to a charity. I had a Nissan 240sx At the time. I don't have any pics on the iPad, but it wasn't a race car. Just esthetically pleasing😆 My buddy took his Mitsubishi Galant🤣🤣🤣 I should say it wasn't at race pace either. I think I got to about 80mph on the front stretch, they had a control car at the front of the group. It costed me $100 to say I ran at Laguna Seca🙄😆

I think the Xfinity series is to make a stop at Portland this year. Unfortunately they don't no what kind of drivers there letting out on track. There's plenty of drivers that shouldn't be allowed to have a license.

IMO👈🏼😆 If Nascar wanted to bring fans back, they should have cars start with the fuel the have after Qualy. Ie. Wanna be up front for the start, qualy with little gas. Wanna make fewer pit stops qualy with more fuel. That would make a big dif i strategy. They should race tracks that have infields inside an oval. On Sat. they run infield, Sun. they run oval. Add the 2 races and that's your points. That would make them bring real drivers to the party. This 'Ima go ford, then turn a little left, the goin ford smore'. Do that 300 times and call it a day.🤣🤣🤣

Yes he's in the Porsche again. Love me or hate me Porsche is the king of sports car racing for a reason.
Didn't Porsche and Ferarri ask to have the Corvette detuned a while back so they could be competitive???? A car off of the showroom floor with carbon brakes and dry sump oiling system that pulls over 1G on the skid pad with street tires and cost less than $150k is pretty impressive. I can only imagine that the C8 will be even more impressive, not sure the specs or price on it though, it's hard to pay attention when Mopar is cranking out a car with well over 800HP.

@fastone371 it was funning racing near you a couple of times during the Tokyo race. Each time my tires were shredded by the time you caught me so I couldn't put up much of a fight! I used softs on my first stint and the tires were toast, so I used mediums on the next two and my lap times were more steady throughout the run. I put softs on again for the last stint just to see how much time I could gain. It worked for several laps, but the last few were tough.

I have conflicts with the next 3 races so not sure I will be able to join any of them. I have really enjoyed this series. A big thank you to @Cold Warrior for all of the effort that you do to organize this .

Not to name drop, but Johnny Depp lives around the corner... he's in a Lambo Gallardo, a
Ferrari I've never seen, a BADASS vette etc. Dudes a normal joe. Gets his hair cut downtown on main street. You can drive by and see he's in getting a cut and cigar👍🏻 Actuall there's a ton of actors/musicians that live/lived here. John Wayne's ranch is still here in the family, Chirsty Ally, Tom Petty... the point of this was the Vette; there are a couple brand new Vete's here. Very Very Ferrari-esck looking. Sounds just Fantastic. Gets that lung vibration going😆

What where you thinking CW🙄 This Spa race has ruined the track for me😆 IF can get around, I'm sub 3:05. But I can't get arou d the track consistantly🤬😒 I still haven't picked a car but my best laps are in the F480. I want it for Laguna but it's kill'n me in the heavy wet😒 Unfortunately, if I can't make consistent laps, I'm not racing this one. My frustration level is going through the roof. I'm going to practice till race day and see if I can figure it out. 2:50s are simply a fantasy😶‍🌫️😶‍🌫️🤣 As usual, I don't care f I'm last as long as I can finish😉🍻

Going to open a lobby in a bit.

Ha Haaa, Thanks to Management's generosity, letting us use TC has got me into the low 2:50s🤗 I'm in my imaginary Ferrari F480🙄🤣🤣🤣(read above☝🏼) 👉🏼ThisFuknDumbGuyHere🤣🤣 Thanks CW👊🍻 This Should be fun now👉🏼

So a tiff over BOP somehow discredits Porsche's many championships, overall wins, and class wins throughout the world of sports car racing. Many of these hold the record too and are still padding it.

Welcome to the modern gamesmanship over being the BOP beneficiary. Corvette was complaining this year about BOP for Daytona. Despite many believe they were sandbaging in practice. If you lose that was war. Then you go complain to the guys who make the BOP. Until they to slow down the teams you can't beat. And then what do think those teams will do. Rinse and repeat. Your never going to know with modern BOP style who is truly the best.

That being said Corvette stated themselve. That they finally chose to swapped to mid layout to be more competitive with Porsche and Ferrari.

My allegiance may lie elsewhere but, I respect results. And nobody else in Sports car racing has to results and records of Porsche's. Don't forget the Le Mans 1983 nobody's perfect poster.

P.S. 800HP doesn't mean jack if the car can't plant it. Horsepower isn't everything.

And Porsche's prices aren't that bad for there performance. The Corvette starting at $60,900. The 718 Cayman / Boxster starts at $60,500 and the 911 starts $101,200. This is nothing compared the over priced Ferrari 488 starting at $330,000

I was hoping you would make the Blue Moon race being a big Nascar. Especially after missing the Northern Isle Race last season.

Thats exactly why the Hellcats and Demons come with mounted drag radials in the trunk along with a nice jack and a Snap On torque wrench, Mopar knew that their customers were going use that 800+ HP effectively.

Now that I know how far behind I'll be☝🏼🙄😆 What's everyone's tire status? Anyone else getting 10 or more laps? I can make it around consistently now, but tire deg is ruuuufff😒😒 Tires may be what what keeps me in the race this time😉😆... Fastone🧐😁

Yeah used effectively in a straight line for a short distance. Sorry but I respect the result of circuit racing more than drag racing. Which is why I'm a Camaro ZL1 fan when it comes to the modern pony cars. The of line models of the Charger, Challenger, and Mustang are all more powerful but, they only focus on straight line performance. The new ZL1s now are faster track than the C6 Corvette ZR1. Can the Dodge Demons beat the 4th gen Viper ACR yet on track.

Yes the acceleration rate of Top Fuel, Funny Cars, and the Jet / Rocket cars are impressive. But since they destroy themselves after every 1000 ft pass. They are also incredibly impractical.

The only real reason prototypes aren't street legal is because law enforcement would never able catch them.

It's not like you can use a ZR1 Vette on the street either, at least not to its potential so really it doesn't matter in a practicality respect.

The ZR1 Corvette headlights, taillights, turn signals. Oh and it doesn't brakedown every 1000 ft. Not that is watching Top Fuel cars is fun but, a prototype is a lot closer to being street legal.

OK.
Do you know that there are a lot of "street legal" drag cars that produce in excess of 4500 HP and don't break down every 1000'? That is enough power to propel the car from 0-220MPH in 660 feet, they have run 5.60's at over 240 MPH in 1320' (only the fuel cars run 1000', NHRA decided that too many drivers were getting killed when they were going over 340 MPH). Theres a lot more drag cars than just the self destructing fuel cars, but what do expect when they make over 1250HP per individual cylinder. I know a guy that put his twin turbocharged methanol fueled 500" cid car on the dyno, he was expecting 4500HP, it made 5400HP!! If someone doesn't find that impressive they are not the least bit knowledgeable about ICE. We can bicker all day about what makes the best race cars but to me they are all magical for their own reasons. For example the 950HP 410 cid 1400# winged sprint car on a 1/4 mile dirt oval, they don't lift for the corners, wind and friction slows them enough to turn (that and the massive balls the driver is carrying) . They used to race these things called East Coast Modifieds, they lapped Nazereth damn near as fast as the old turboed CART Indy Cars. I could spend all day talking about all sorts of different race cars, and I am familiar with road racing, our house is less than 45 minutes from one of if not the premier road course in the country, Road America. If it's a race car it's fascinating enough for me and the are all the best in their own world.

Holy pissing contest Batman, you 2 put it back in your pants or get a room already🤣🤣🤣 I'm not sure if you're arguing or playing Swords(🥴🤭😆) The stats you guys are throwing around is killing my high😶‍🌫️ and it's not even 8am here. I haven't even punished the toilet yet🤣

It's clear both of you are gear heads that are well versed in your favorite cars. Running laps in the 911 w/fastone at Tokyo last weekend made it obvious why he drives the Porsche. And I really don't car what car you like CW, the idea you're so Fukn competitive racing with sticks just kills me Brother🙄🤣🤣🍻 I really dig racing with you guys👍🏻🍻

I hate being the guinea pig but if GT7 has some decent telemetry I'll pick it up. It would be nice for this weekends race if the tire wear indicator was a duel heat map/wear indicator. It would be easier to manage tire wear in the rain. I thought they had it in GT1&2. ??? Also I contacted the devs at the Dash Panel app to get them to do the GT series. If you haven't got this app and played around with it, you're missing it. Build your own dash panel👍🏻 Having this would let the GT7 devs off the hook on telemetry.

I'll be opening a lobby this morning if anyone wants to quit thier job and hang out😆

In truth, any speedo registering higher than you local speed limits is impractical. Why can my car go 160 MPH off the showroom floor but I am limited to 55-70 MPH almost everywhere? Seems like we could gear cars to top speeds of around 80 MPH and fuel mileage would go through the roof instead of gearing them for twice the legal speed limits in most states.
