Great video Henrik! Thanks for posting as well because I think it's very interesting to see things from your perspective as we fought back and forth. I've only watched the first two (have to get ready for work) but will take a look later. One thing very curious though, you show starting both races with 11 players in the lobby. There were 12!!! That's very strange. And in my video it shows 12. So far all my talk about no lobby problems, there must have been an invisible car for you.

I've posted the dry video and will post the wet as soon as it's done processing. For the record, my setup:

Camber: -4.00 front / -3.20 rear
Ride height: -0.30 front / +0.30 rear
Springs: hard front / soft rear
Dampeners: hard front / soft rear
toe: +0.7 front / +0.2 rear

Great battle the first 9 laps.[/QUOTYE]

Yes I think I miss firedshot in my lobby but I'm not sure.I had him twice in the lobby before the start but someone mentioned that they had him twice as well,so didn't think about it.

my setup
Camber: -4.00 front / -3.20 rear
Ride height: -0.30 front / +0.30 rear
Springs: soft front / soft rear
Dampeners: soft front / soft rear
roll bar hard front / hard rear
toe: default front / default rear

I've now posted my own videos to my original race recap on the previous page. The first lap of the single 'wet' video is almost comical and makes the run from the back of the grid to the front seem almost too easy. I just happened to be at the right place at the right time, so to speak.

grate videos, i may tape the next event and post some videos..

my 1st race was grate fun racing with Jeff and Henrik, its a shame i culd not keep up with you guys for more than 5 laps.

2nd race was werry interesting, 20 laps of everything, to bad i culd not get the video camera in time for the event. Had grate battles with everybody from last to the place i finished ( cant remember LOL)
Raced moust of the time against Hun and Bullie 👍

I guess i will not have the time to practice Hockenheim, especialy in the wet.
im confident that i can do a good qualification time and with a good start may be somthing better than Monza for me.
The track charecteristics can be a favor there, so lets see...

well done jeff on your first win

i didnt have much time to practice too many set ups or run too many laps for this as ive been watching the footy, but i think i just settled on a car that i found comfortable with ,without having to push it too hard . my main aim was to keep it on the track.

the first race went well with no major mistakes and steady (not too slow) pace and although i have been placed as 5th i did indeed finnish 4th . i pipped new soul on the last lap , as im sure new soul will comfirm . as he mentioned it in the text chat room after the race . the results screen must have glitched or something .
all the same i had some great racing with the pace setters in the first few laps but was unable to keep up . avore and i had some good overtakes from 1 corner to the next .
all in all very pleased with my position from what i consider a strong field.

race 2
i had the same mindset steady but sure and again didnt find any dirt on my tyres ,which helps alot .avore and i were having a good race again until he put his foot down and left me behind , but all in all very pleased .

R.E BULLIE

thanks alot and im sure we will be having a good battle on the track before this event has finnished ,

Thanks again guys. The results have been corrected accordingly.

As far as I'm concerned, the more cameras rolling, the better. I really enjoy going back after and watching the footage. But of course, in this particular race, as great as the action was between Henrik, new_soul and I, we missed all the great action amongst the rest of the field. And those caught on camera during my first lap of the sprint race...probably wish they weren't. :D

Endurace race[/B]
I started in 9th after ruining my qualification lap. Arvore went off track in the last chicane and I catch him and because it was a wet qualifying I got overly-cautious to not hit Arvore.

I've noticed You had backed up:) , but You really shouldn't I think the collisions are off during qualify and my lap was completely ruined,by that time anyway:tup:

Well here it is my brief and late recap of the event(for obvious reasons-seven to be more precise :) my attention today was on the W.C.):

First my setups for these races:

Dampers-S/S
Height: -30/+30
Roll Bars: H/H
Springs:S/S
Camber:-4/-3,20
Toe-Default/Default

Qualify:

I Completely screwed up in the qualifying lap wenting off(way off)track twice ,with the obvious consequences:grumpy:,pushing too hard in order to obtain a good starting position for:

The feature Race

I started last and knew I would have a hard time building my way trough the pack...:scared:
Had great battles first with Biggles then Bullie and finally with Kemp (sorry again for eventual contact at 2nd Lesmo, mate)and Derek.
Me and Derek got involved in a crazy change of positions for 3 or four laps and that allowed Kemp to take off and build a comfortable gap between us:tup:

The Wet Race

Everything in life has a bright side and the seventh:nervous: place in the dry race allowed me to start in the fifth position...Biggles and Derek got stuck (and stuffed as well:sly: ) at the first chicane Bullie went wide at Variante Ascari and after one of two laps of battle with Firedshot I was able to chase a very consistent Fingers closing the gap he had built-We had a great battle for 2 laps trading position several times but by this time Henrik had already caught up with us.
Tried to keep up with him but soon realized that it was beyond my skills and thought it was cleaver to secure the 3rd place driving in my own pace...:yuck:
Was able to keep up the gap built to Fingers and from 8th lap on made a safe race until the finish line:)

So Henrik, having watched your videos all the way through, I just have to ask, are you actually lighting a cigarette and smoking while you're driving or is somebody else in there watching with you?

Wet race was a hoot. I began with the advantage of starting third thanks to my slow pace in the first race. :)

That advantage lasted precisely up to the 1st corner - by the time I had straightened my car after getting spun, I was back in last place. :(

Before long I had regained 3 or 4 places, as I negotiated my way through the wreckage of the 2nd corner. :)

And so it went on. Familiar faces disappeared & then re-appeared with comforting regularity. Over time I slipped further behind, but still enjoyed an invigorating battle for last place with Derek - a battle I finally lost, or won, depending on your perspective. 👍

The Monza straights give a great opportunity for a few bites of toast, or sips of tea along the way!

Ha ha yes I did smoke a cigarette in the 1 race I think.

Sure, it starts with a cigarette or energy bar and the next thing you know, people are texting or reading the newspaper. ;)

Congrats mhm66 and jjaisli. It's been interesting to monitor jjaisli's driving, to me it seems that you are improving from race to race. And mhm66, do I even need to mention. Others race serious and you take a smoke on the main straights... :ill:

Some good news. Yesterday I got a refurbished console 👍 I really have to give kudos to Nordisk Film and Finnish consumer protection laws, all of this ended up to cost me 0€, even though the console that broke down was about 2,5 years old :)

Now I have a huge amount of things to do to get everything back into console and I guess I'm going to take that save file of SCC in here so that I don't need to drive everything from the start again. I think there wouldn't simply be time for that. But let's hope for the best, I'll try to make it to the next race.

^^^Good news Lassi:)

But I guess they weren't able to beat the Canadian World Record, heeee?Should have gone for the Mandolin Strategy:sly:

Thanks. Although I really think my results at Monza were a combination of: luck, the fact that many known 'fast' racers were absent, combined with an oddly off the pace new_soul, and finally, just being able to dial in a setup with which I felt very comfortable and confident. I haven't always been able to do this and I usually find I'm settling for something safe but conservative or fast but unwieldy. The setup I used for Monza felt 'right' from the first lap. Although I did go back and forth to try out other options, in the end, what I started with ended up just perfect.

On this note, I did some TT runs of Hockenheim last night. This is going to be tough and after almost an hour, I came away very unsure of which direction to go and therefore quite frustrated. What works well on the long straights is a compromise in the stadium section. And in either one part of the track or the other, the car just doesn't feel right. I finally gave up and vowed to go back to it another day with a fresh mind. But at the moment, I feel quite lost.

That's great news! 👍 Good to have you back on board!

BTW, for the rest of you, in the lobby at Monza, some of you were mentioning a Japanese player who wanted to join (Yozo-something). I don't recall ever racing him. Is he a GTPlanet member? If one of you has him on your friend list, just direct him here.

Same here, couldn't figure out a tune yet:nervous: WHERE ARE YOU MANNY?:)

Actually I think people were complaining about him:lol:

Where the heck IS Manny?

Actually I think people were complaining about him:lol:

   This is very funny. Everybody was sort of talking over each other and all I heard was, "Keep on the lookout for Yozo", "He may want to join", "Make sure you watch for him", "He may be coming!", "Is this a private lobby? Will he find us?"

I guess I took it completely the wrong way. Here I thought people wanted me to send him an invite!

]Where the heck IS Manny?

Dunno:indiff: Guess he traded SCC fun for Air Festivals:)

No he is really a punter:tdown:
Shame because he can be fast:indiff:

First practice session done and boy did it feel nice to be back on track after such a long break! (Ok, maybe the break felt longer than it really was :P)

New car and track that I've never driven "seriously" took its price right in the beginning. It took me 10 laps to get first clean lap. After that I did continue and drove about 20 laps more. I used setup that Henrik posted in the first post on this page (edit: previous page) and didn't bother to do any changes, I simply tried to get used to the car&track. 355C seems quite a nice car, a lot like 348C but with a little bit more of everything. I was able to break into 53's but not yet into 52's. But I'm pretty confident that if I get a decent act together for a whole lap I can manage a high 52. Setup was a bit tail happy, mainly on the very last corner. I did find a driving technique that reduces it but it's not natural for me. So I have to learn to use that or try to tweak the setup to make it better for me, now I'm way too often sideways on that corner.

But, now it's time for mid-summer fest. Dunno if it's common in other countries or only a big thing in Finland, but if it is, happy mid-summer fest and see you next week!

Nice! I too found a wall in the 53 area, but it is definitely a wall to be overrun if I have time to practise and test setups again. My estimate is that the fastest guys will do 1.51's in no time, and from what I experienced myself yesterday, mid 1.52's are clearly within my personal reach.

HATE corner one with a passion.

PS - We in Portugal have an habit of partying all year, so it's a bit difficult to define precisely when's our mid-summer fest. Let's say mid-June we have that, especially in Lisboa and Porto, but we also have mid-August (15th is a holiday here and there are festivities in 99% of the litle villages across the country, with the 1% being probably a town so small that all residents don't bother to organize anything and instead go to the festivities being held in the town closer to their own ). Anyway, thanks, wish you happy mid-summer fests, try to keep sober at least one hour per day! ;)

After some fun, on-line practice this evening, I went back to TT for about 20 minutes and I think I found a bit of a breakthrough. It's not any faster but it certainly 'feels' better which is much more important, since I felt very uncomfortable with the setup I was running in Arvore's lobby tonight.

Tonight was also the first time I ran with this car/track in the wet.

Hi guys, i've finally unlocked the F355 and would like to race on the 3rd but not sure if I can (will have to persuade the family). Is it alright to just turn up on the night? Not quite up to speed yet but i'm sure i'll be competitive at the back of the pack. 👍

Hi Redgate! So long as there's room in the lobby, yes of course you're welcome to join in. There is no sign up sheet but while I do give priority to those who have taken part in past events but I don't think we're quite full. Just familiarize yourself with the rules (page 1), remember that first I'll invite you into the text chat before the race lobby, and keep in mind that the start will likely be delayed due to the world cup game. Hope to see you there! You're on my friend list so if I see you on-line you'll hear from me.

Care to share some of Your enlightened conclusions...or anyone as a matter of fact...feeling kinda of lost here, since my mechanic went on unannounced vacations:indiff:

(sigh) Very well.

ride height: front max high (+.30) / rear max low (-.30)
springs: front soft / rear hard
dampers: front hard / rear soft
camber: doesn't really matter
toe: front -.25 / rear +.25
sway bars: front soft / rear hard

No remember Arvore, just because it works for me, doesn't mean it will work for you as it's obviously dependent on one's driving style. ;)
