It feels a double post is a bit more appropriate than an edit considering the time differences. I tried to bring you guys some models l_plam, maybe show at least the invisible walls. Well, I failed. I was not expecting this, it's probably only funny to me though.

I'm gonna go ahead and keep trying though.

This has failed to work properly because there is no Z-buffer. The program (You know what I mean) only uses X and Y buffers.

To make that less complicated, it's missing one thing to make it work properly.

Yeah, I realized that, and I freaked out laughing. I felt like such an idiot.

A rather curious find.

Gearfont.png

This was found in the early GT2 demo. It looks like a completely different gear font. Looks like the speedometer may have looked different, or is a placeholder font which hasn't been removed yet.

That looks interesting. Perhaps they were also considering that some other LM Editions would have 7 speeds? A few did in GT1, including the Castrol Supra, GTO LM and perhaps some others. One of the only 7 speed autos in GT2 is the Subaru Pleo. It's amazing that GT2 still lives after over a decade.

Nope, it's not program itself. It all depends on video plugin. DirectX6 does NOT supports Z buffer, remember that.

Very interesting thread here. Have it bookmarked so I can jump to any new discoveries made.

As for the unfinished tracks featured, may someone give me a few pointers on how to access them? I'd like to give them a test drive myself.

Ever heard about Gameshark?

As a matter of fact, I own one! :D

Problem is, getting any codes to work on my old PS1 only seems to work half the time for some reason. This version is probably all whacked up (it's the 3.3 CDX version) as I did use it a lot for GT1 and GT2 in the past. Who knows what's wrong with it... :boggled:

Is there a resource for the codes used in the demo?

We can start a campaign to petition Kaz to release such tools. I would love to be able to add another 300 cars. And to be able to add tracks?..

I honestly don't think a petition would allow us to. After all, it's illegal to modify a game to your liking.

It's simply pointless trying.

Not really... There are many people who modify things, the game developers see these as great, and use that material in the next official update patch for a game.

its not, look at valve, star wars battlefront 2, crysis, ect

Plus the fact it isn't a PC game.

Though if it were to be released on the PS3 in the PS3 Store, there could be some interest.

There are still homebrew and other kits that people have made for ps1/2 (none of which are endorsed by sony so while not exactly illegal we shouldn't go in anymore depth)

Hi everybody, this is my first post here although I've been reading the forum everyday when rumours around GT5 started being serious. I've also been playing GT2 lately (probably my favourite) and to my big surprise, for the first time ever, I encountered the normally hidden VW Polo in the event generator :dunce: I have no gameshark or whatsoever... Never believed I'd see it in the game. Here are some pictures, sorry for the bad quality :

Nothing spectacular but still wanted to share that unusual thing with you :)
And this thread is absolutely amazing, so many good things to know around here ;)

You did it! I knew it was possible to see the Polo, but I have never seen or done it. Nice! I've driven the Polo before, it's okay, but nothing special.
