Well, they incorporated some sort of a driving monitor as you can see in replays - all those graphs about throttle/brake/steering input.

So were the D-Rights cars, did they actually exist?

I thought it'd make more sense if the Bondurant Mustang was used for the license tests.

Uhm.. I found out that in the demo I have there are two "Shelby GT350"...

One have the dark green & dark blue colours deleted and have a pink one instead... The car-code is the same as the one in the final version...

The other one have much more color options... and the car code is totally different (usc7n)

Whats your opinion guys? What's the reason to keep 2 same GT350 but with different color option?

.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.

There are the 2 GT350 in the final release aswell.. But they just have different logos (G.T. 350) & (GT 350)

EDIT: Just made the pictures bigger.

The first one was discovered already, but that second one is definitely news to me. Hmmm, I don't know what happened there. I can only guess that it was probably an early model of the GT350.

Also, the 2 GT350s in the final game are the same car, Polyphony just decided to change the logo with the NTSC and PAL releases.

EDIT: I took some screenshots of this beta GT350 myself. Yeah, I'm going with another beta model. Well, this is interesting.

Seems that the same thing happened with the "Alfa Romeo 156 2.5 V6 24V" and the "Alfa Romeo Spider 2.0 TS"

There are two versions of each other.. With different colour schemes and minor body differences:

*Final Release* Alfa Romeo 156 V6 24V:

@SuperFrizzio I already knew about those. Remember my GT2 beta car showcase? ;)

Sorry... I didn't remember you showed 2 versions of each Alfa Romeo's..

I found the code when I looked inside the demo's car codes.. There are other duplicates aswell for example 2 Plymouth Superbird but they dont really have much differences.

I also saw many racing modifications that didnt come to the final release (for example: [R] RUF's ecc) but have [R] Toyota Altezza as placeholder... And other cars that have new strange codes (that the final release dont have) but have all Altezza's body as placeholer aswell..

Too bad there are no methods at all to see at least the name of those cars

A planned seperate dealership for Ford Europe?

Judging by the car code listings, it seems that the segregation between Ford Europe and Ford USA is partially still in effect in-game. Take a look:

Code:

Ford Europe cars begin with EF??? and uses address 0F40/0F41, while Ford USA ones uses UF??? and address 1F40/1F41.

(For the curious, efnon is the Mercedes AMG E 55 with gray color option and unfinished rear window lights. ;))

Sounds more like a checksum being the culprit here.

If there is a checksum in place, any kind of modification will result in a crash. But it may not even be this though, so i'm not certain on this.

Then how the Russian language hacks work? If that's possible (changing menu assets), in theory we should be able to defeat checksum checks... or not?

Something like this, for the unknowing:

First of all you can cleasrly see it mentions "Drag Racing" option.. And the famous Special Stage Route 11 that was scrapped in the final build. Fantissimo O.o .. I'm italian and I can tell you that word doesnt even exist.

Xenn, Did you ever look inside of the "Test Drive" Demo disc of GT2 to see if new/beta cars are there? If you have the copy can you send me at least the GT2.VOL file, please? Thanks

I have been always thinking about that too. Maybe there werent enough space on the discs, or the PSone could not cope the track with its hardware (GT2 was maybe slightly more hard at PSOne HW).

I came up with an idea a while back regarding the abandoned modeling in Laguna Seca. I recall ferrari gt making a video a while back on GT2 in wire frame mode. What if he went outside of Laguna Seca, found the abandoned modeling and then went into to wire frame mode? I think this is worth exploring, who knows what we may learn of this when he does.....

I can do this,but I don't see a point.

To say,It seems to me to be a very mysterious data corruption or something else because let's face it - they wouldn't left that many identical pieces in one place.

I beleive that It's just a memory glitch.
If you will attentively watch the video, you will see somewhere at the end that i found another piece of the track which is visible in only one direction, but different then the other has.
I beleive there's no point to use a wireframe mod here

Well,just watch it.
