Oh god, if there were Porsches in the game, people would overuse them like they do with RX-7's in drift lobbies. Expect every Nurburgring lobby to have at least one Porsche.
 
Have you seen real motorsports any time in the last few years? If a Porsche is suitable for the event, a team will use it.

Word. Porsche is probably the most overused vehicle in real racing. lol. I'm glad I have the ability to abuse it also ... in a videogame of course.
 
Personally, I don't care to much for Porsche or new cars. Not really a big fan but would use them if they were available, I spend more time with my favs; Camaros and Vettes. But whatever, what we really need and should want for this game is for it to be the best it can be. I don't have any interest in Forza, never played it, I'm happy for those who enjoy it but, I'm not going to buy an Xbox. I have a PS3, play GT5 and want it improved. More cars will only be better if they are newer models of current cars or new cars all together. I fresh new 2013 GTR won't make me happy. We have the 2012 which won't really be any different. The new NSX they teased us with is an updated model, the new Focus, Viper, etc.. would be a better choice. No need to update standards unless they come with RM capabilty so the icon actually gets used rather then giving us TC's which are essentially RMs predone for us. Fix the track editor to give us more options, less elevation changes and more banking. Allow banking for cart tracks and to creat ovals, choose direction and so forth. But by all means, bring back old tracks from GT4, we have logos now give us the tracks! That would add more playability then cars would. Besides, we're getting 8 cars (from GTA IF YOU GOT ALL GOLDS) but only really 3 new ones ('12 gtr, '12 gtr tuned and a leaf with stickers) as the others are same 'ols with stickers. How many people are clammering for those?

p.s. - and an update to put a "wing" on the 2010 camaro rm would be nice!

I figured out a cockpit glitch and this has kept me entertained for a while even without DLC. Turn10 did good on these.

Also I've been waiting for something else besides time trials , and drift trials since that just got repetitive to me.

These porsches you guys talk about I could actually give a crap about! Seriously I root for the Corvette teams and Ford teams, especially in Matech Ford GT.

Every time I see a GT3 in racing I automatically root for anyone else, when I was 15 I attended my first event back 2000 when BMW had v8's in their m3 GTR and smoked the 911's in ALMS.

I bought the pack because I was more interested in the 959, Carrera GT, GT1 and 962 (when was the last time you saw a 962?).
Not to mention the street version of the GT3 and GT2 and a 911 turbo, and light cars such as the 914 and the classic 550 spyder.

I lost hope for the GT5 series, I actually came back to it for about a day or two then realized how boring it was and nothing new to see here. But I will come back just to see whats new (most likely nothing new or maybe a GTR white mask or gray mask or a prius or miata concept... LOL).

And last thing an x360 can be had for cheap, cheaper than what I bought mine for new, like my ps3 I kinda went all out and bought my own hard drive flashed the firmware and been flawless and still faster loading than an SSD powered ps3 slim.

I also like drag racing too! I hope they add the new '13 GT500 because I heard their adding a '12 ZL1.

I would have no problem with that at all but then again I'm a big Porsche fan. I really REALLY want the brand in GT games.

RUF is nice but it is no substitute.

RUF doesn't have the racing pedigree nor have ever touched massive amounts of street and race Porsche cars from the old days to recent. They are a tuning firm who found a loophole in German law to be considered a manufacturer. Again, nice to have RUF but they aren't Porsche.

Didnt really want to to be honest,yes i understand my reasons may seem i dont know "lacking",but those are my reasons
 
RUF doesn't touch the race spec models of Porsche. RUF also hasn't touch the classic street (and race) cars. The CTR Yellowbird is their oldest true 'full RUF' car, a beast to say the least, but there's plenty of Porsches that RUF has never touched. RUF also never participated in motorsports like Porsche has.

At the end of the day, I'm fine with having RUF but RUF is not a replacement to Porsche. I would LOVE Porsche DLC for GT5/6/whatever and would be a day 1 buyer.
 
People only say they don't want Porsche because they don't have them. Anyone truly interested in cars would want the iconic marque in GT, they have so many classic cars and race cars that go beyond what RUF produce.

What qualifies that rather arrogant and over-simplistic statement?

I have already previously stated I have Porsches in other games, and they do nothing for me. Same goes for Aston Martins. I can take them or leave them. Not liking Porsche devalues my credibility as a car fan? Really?

For me, Porsche are not the be-all and end-all of the future of DLC or GT as a game series. Seems nothing more than some infantile bragging-right from FM players. :sly:

Okay, if that's what you meant with 'just saying', just saying things without wishing to further elaborate on them, fair enough.
 
Porsche isn't the only thing thats attractive about the other game, the game devs actually listen to the fans, a good example is the Lexus Sc300. I'm sure there is a car forum out there that covers lexus SC cars (the ones that resemble 240sx).
With that said, I'll take what ever T10 gives us vs what PD gives (which is nothing in terms of DLC).

This bring me to a point time is money, how long are you willing to wait to get what you want vs willing to pay to get what you want. Sadly some of us won't make it to the next iteration of GT.

I choose to have what I want and when I want, I don't care much for Japanese cars so its FM4 for me.

You said this perfectly. Especially about "giving the fans what they want". THAT is what keeps the product selling and people interested. When the demand for things is satisfied, people get happy. Now, keep in mind not everyone will be happy, but they will when thier demand gets met because there is HOPE that it will in the future.

With GT5, there is no hope that ANY demand will be met...thus the frustration. And yes, how long will someone be willing to wait. Myself, I hoped that with the 24hrs of LeMans coming, that a possible "event related" DLC might drop or some promotion. NO: Okay...a LaSarthe time trial...that's it. I also figured, well, if no DLC, then maybe a LeMans-related OCD would foot the bill...again...no. Wouldn't that've been great, an OCD with Group C, LMP, and GT class cars that you could use in the TT...naaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh. Wouldn't be authentic anyway. With your eyes closed it would just sound like a bunch of Hoovers, Oricks, Dysons, and Dirt Devils going around a track anyway.
 
GT5 will have something announced at TGS probably.
EDIT: Why are people arguing between ruf and porsche? I got both of them in forza.

^ lol, we have a winner. :lol: Then again Devs shouldn't listen to the fans to much, because they always bring things down ugly, just sayin. Poor Final Fantasy.

PD just needs some learning that we're here too.

+1 Tought the same last week, for 200 bucks all included, i don't have to worry anymore about having the best racing experience possible on a console (my opinion, not fact).

I plan on waiting till i have the status "car collector" in "the other game", as there are so many beauts available from scratch, that one has the luxury to actually wait a year until you own them all, before you pay extra and have tons of DLC packs en plus by that time, improving the longevity even more.
