The R8 has been fixed a few updates ago. Not sure about the VW.

What was the question again? Oh yea, I rather see 5-10 new tracks rather than cars at this point for a DLC. We might get Twin Ring Motegi as its at the tail end of the GT Academy. U never know.

Exactly! I also agree with you second statement we need more tracks!

Is it possible that GT5 is simply too jam packed already, making the process of adding DLC complicated for PD and the hardware of the PS3? Everytime they patch something, theres another problem that pops out. The game seems to be quite un-predictable for the developers.
Where is Conspiracy Keanu when you need him?

The constant patching (and subsequent new problems that need patching) points more to poor general coding in some instances than any kind of "too full" message. I don't think PD devotes very much QA time to the game: the Photomode gained more pronounced lens flare and glare in one update, had it removed the next, then reinstated the one after that. The amount of constant fiddling with the user inputs is another strange point. That said, with over 18 months under their belt, most inconsistencies should be fixed by now, either properly, or to the level PD deems fit. The current game is a vastly different creature than v1.0.

DLC can and should be simple to implement, especially as the cars don't show up under AI use in Arcade or regular GT Mode races. In the case of the cars, they're just more blocks being placed on an existing foundation.

Fans are either sick or apathetic toward the lack of DLC cars.

My question for PD would be: don't you get sick of being understaffed and sleeping under your desks all night?

Hire more people. Drop the pride. You got the money. You're part of Sony's best selling series.

I agree with everything else but the first line, not that I'm not one of those people I'm quite apathetic at the moment.

I'd say instead that people are apathetic or just over zealous and dogmatic just to own GT5. The latter part are those who just think people shouldn't bother PD for DLC.

👍 Agree with this.

The only thing is,
Dropping the Pride
goes against everything that is Japanese culture. So I doubt that is happening ever.

This is very accurate. I think most users here are beginning to avoid these fans/users and their posts. First, it's a dangerous way to think. And secondly, nothing gets achieved by fans who only praise and never criticize.

I am in no way stating that PD browse these forums and listen to anything we type, but I can assure you dogmatic attitudes and over-praising leads to little to nothing.

Compliments about GT are fine and welcomed. When I see something I enjoy, I let it be known. But when a super zealous fan takes a not-so positive comment as an insult, then you know he/she is far gone. You might not want to bother engaging with him/her.

Remember, this is GTPlanet. Not GT is God Planet or GT sucks Planet. You should discuss GT as a whole (both good and bad).

You hit the nail on the head. I've been avoiding posts from certain users for a few months now due to their fanatical attitudes towards PD and the GT series. It's shocking how they've decided to wholeheartedly accept GT5's flaws without so much as a whimper, simply because that would constitute as whining and being ungrateful towards PD. My question is- what's wrong with criticizing and offering solutions and suggestions for a flawed product after buying it? As buyers of their game, we have the right to question some of the silly mistakes they've made with the game!

And our suggestions should be helping them. Through the many implementable ideas that have been floated around the forum and the invaluable feedback section, PD should have the blueprint for creating the perfect driving simulator. Because as we all know, complacency never leads to positive results. By offering constructive criticism, we're only helping PD. Anyone who doesn't realize this and instead decides to blindly support every decision PD makes, isn't actually helping PD contrary to their belief.

You do realize that the OP of this thread joined in 2003, right?

Irrelevant..If he has only 60 something posts, he hasn't been on the forum much. Usually meaning he hasn't went through pages, scanning threads, and doing research. Which results in a thread being started that covers topics that have already been discussed in previous threads..

We've talked about DLC, and and trying to gauge when it will be released over and over again..When it comes out, it comes out. Making a thread basically complaining about how there hasn't been any DLC recently doesn't get it to you and sooner.

Anytime DLC is brought up it turns into the same debate. There should be a DLC section on here where it can be discussed rather than making threads about your displeasure.

We definitely should have a "Constructive Criticism/Complaints" section for the GT5 forum. While GT5 is flawed, we shouldn't have to see so many threads knocking the game. QQ is referring to crying by the way.

Oh like the emoticon.

Am I the only one who has absolutely no interest as far as DLC goes for Gran Turismo 5?

Previous DLCs never made the game any better. It didn't do so with the addition of the Aventador, nor with Spa or the Speed Test Course Pack and honestly, upcoming DLCs probably never will either. So, why scream for more?

Adding Spa didn't make the game better? Really? It did for me.

Granted, it was the only highlight of the 3 DLC packs released so far, but I'll happily take one worthy track for every 100 new cars, any day of the week.

I don't understand why you wouldn't see Spa as an improvement for GT5 but for me, to improve the game, the ability to speed up fuel use and tyre wear would add some interest to all races.
There are loads of great cars and a few more tracks and options to force pitstops sooner would be great.

I'd rather see a map pack of say 5 real life tracks. There are enough cars already available imo.

Should he go to Harvard and get a degree, too? He's making a thread, not writing a research paper. Plus new guys are usually the guy who need help. That's why I joined, because I had a question. If there was a post limit for creating topics, I wouldn't of been able to ask my questions and receive help from the kind people of this forum.

Making a thread basically complaining about how there hasn't been any DLC recently doesn't get it to you and sooner.

Neither will complaining about the threads make them go away any sooner.

I generally don't support DLC at all. I don't normally believe in paying for a game... that I already paid for.

BUT, if I were to buy DLC for this game,

I'd rather see a map pack of say 5 real life tracks. There are enough cars already available imo.

That is exactly what I would want. 1000+ cars are more then enough.

The R8 has been fixed a few updates ago. Not sure about the VW.

After reading this, and not noticing it (the V10 R8 is one of the cars I use a bit, and only one sporting chrome paint) I went into photo travel to see for my eyes.

About damn time PD... about damn time......

I agree (even though I love cars and think we sorely need a few), but 5 real life tracks is kind of a lot to expect from them. Sure they've had plenty of time but you know how slow they work.

I would personally be happy with 2 real world tracks (bathurst, and Targa Florio hahaha I'm joking, Macau, i'm joking again, Virginia International Raceway)
and a new car like a Radical SR8 LM, Lotus 49 (I'm dreaming here) and a Ariel Atom, plus a few standard to premium upgrades, mainly the Veyron, and the Toyota GT ONE.

This isn't a wish list though, but I expect if we're lucky, we'll get motegi, plus another track, and maybe 4-8 cars.

Point of the thread is being sick of waiting, and I am.

It will be a letdown if only Twin Ring Motegi is made available. It would be awesome if it turns out that the final rounds of GT Academy consist of only new tracks and the one custom track. Then again, Motegi was one of the top real world/tracks that I wanted to come. ehhh

this PD this! please for the love of god do this PD, I've kind of given up hope of getting this in gt5 (unless we get an awesome spec3 update) but if gt6 doesn't have this or something similar and online lobbies are as hopeless as they are right now were we have to implement a work around like sorting decent online races ourselves by coming on sites/forums like this then I think the gt franchise will lose a lot of fans.

its always been online issues that's held back gt5, everything else is just minor niggles and personal taste in my opinion.

Agreed.
I think a ton of people have given up on multiplayer, or become total noobs to try to fit in with the crowd of either lazy GT5ers or controller users that don't realize they're playing a sim.

The whole Racing Soft tire thing is a discussion for another thread, but in my opinion, either they need to bring back the Performance Points that were affected by tires (that was the best week of my GT5 life until the morons took it away in 1.07), or they need to create matchmaking, and lock tires to the ones that came with the car.

I mean seriously, why would you need to get better tires than what they give you? I understand if you fully tune the car, throwing on some sports soft or racing hard, that's fine, but stock, there's no reason to add tires except dirt snow, or comforts for drifting.

To me, every lobby with tires unrestricted and damage turned off is what's RUINING GT5s replayability (damage should be on heavy at all times, trust me, it forces people to behave, drive clean, and realistically, realistic=more fun, less frustrating)

Right now, the only option for a serious GT5 player is leagues. Obviously you can't just find a random league to race with everyday so GT5s multiplayer is kind of broken at the moment. I hope they add matchmaking in Spec 3, if there is a spec 3.

Can someone fill me in on what was wrong with the r8? I can't quite remember, thanks.

Right now it's fixed but basically the 5.2L V10 R8 had the V8 modeled in the engine bay. Major oversight especially since it was a premium car.

EDIT: and maybe I should have read the other responses lol
