Ran a few more laps on TT8 and here's my best so far

17.805 / 37.707 / 58.359 - 1'24.633 :)

seen a 17.4 and a few 17.5 T1's so there's still a bit up for grabs ... best T3 was 58.1xx and stuffed it :(

Nurb' feaver has caught me, since my disk started reading that track again :D
I'll get to TT10 shortly...

But the disk also started reading Okami again, so I'll be back in a couple of hours, howling.

EDIT: Been checking your replays, Ron.

  • Honda S2000 Type-V '01 @ Tokyo R246: Close but Clean 👍
  • Mazda MX-5 1800RS (J) '00 @ Trial Mountain: Dirty! I'll get picture-proof when I finish checking the others. Ron, you had a sliiight three-wheel-off at the very first corner... Sorry.
  • Exige/Lotus MSE @ Midfield: Clean as a whistle. Not a single suspicious spot. 👍
  • Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II @ Deep Forest: Clean, again. Un-suspicious. 👍
  • Viper GTS-R Concept @ Laguna Seca: Clean 👍
  • Castol, Mugen and Impreza Prototype are all clean, as usual. :tup:x3

And the dirty evidence. I thought when blurred, the sand disappears and you can see the ground/wheel confict more clearly:

But this makes it even clearer:

And because I took photos on your replays, I'll add a piece of the Viper for good measure - great lap, despite being un-smooth.

Cheers mate I was hoping someone would check them for me 👍

I will re-run the TT2 now ;) ... I checked it a few times in replay theatre and saw how close it was but never managed to get the frame you captured after a few reloads :dunce: It's a great test and of all of them i'm glad its the one I run again :sly:

The TT5 was run over 1 small session and wont be run again as I hate the track so badly and avoid it at most OLR's it appears on! I preffered the old Laguna with the corksrew you could really gallop into 👍

TT2 Deleted and off to race!
Thanks again
Ron

Ok I have a 100% no sniff of an off save now 👍

19.392 / 42.636 / 1'15.523 - 1'38.617 ( seen a crazy 18.9 / 42.4 and lost it at the horseshoe :( )

Will try again soon .. and I'll upload my replay tomorrow :)

Updated

BTW, Ron... If you feel like it, here's an alternative to the Viper-picture. Spent an hour or so cleaning up the car (damn, it had pixelation all over it), then blurring the ugly spots (underside of the bridge, the clouds) and radial-blurring the road:

Red (Black-Red-White Gradient-map) version:, and the regular-coloured version:

EDIT: Dammit. :banghead:

I keep loosing my laps on TT10 - either on the esses at the start, or at the esses after the Karussel. And that's annoying... The car is awesome, though. Brakes aren't as lousy as their reputation dictates it, but the thing about this car is that perfect harmony with the 'Ring - the suspension, while very stiff, absorbs the bumps without any fuss, sliding the rear out a little goes with perfect control, and the car just feels good here. No TCS, by the way - the car has suprising amounts of traction for a Rwd with 460HP - it doesn't spin even in 1st!

can't improve on my TT10 time. gt4 disc doesn't work. poly sucks ass.

the car has suprising amounts of traction for a Rwd with 460HP - it doesn't spin even in 1st!

then you ain't pushin it hard enough mate

damn double posts :fark:

DODGY RON STRIKES AGAIN!!!

cheatin fooka!!

that's right, i posted 4 times in row. so what?

that's right, i posted 4 times in row. so what?

Not a big deal, although that's a very bad attitude to have and it was actually 5 in a row.
(plus, the above 5-post is against AUP.
That said, please try to avoid that sort of thing.
Finally, I've merged them all into one post. )

then you ain't pushin it hard enough mate

I can't really see how you can push a car more than full-throttle, when it comes to accelleration. As long as you don't launch full-revs from a stop, you're clear in this monster.

i was referring more to standing on the throttle while the car was turning and hopping around. you should be spinning there atleast some of the time. as far as accelleration goes, you are absolutely correct, the tires don't smoke much at all on flat ground while the car is not sideways and airborn.

i know it was 5 in a row. that was actually part of the joke. unfortunately, you will have to excuse me but i totally forgot that gtplanet is now a completely professional site where all business must be conducted with utmost tact and couth with little or no room for boisterous humor and/or sarcasm. please forgive me, i will try not to let it happen again sir. thank you very much for your time.

furthermore, i strenuously apologize for making two posts in a row but i chose that action because i was adressing two different posts. hopefully this is in accordance with gtplanet law but if it is not, i emplore you to please not punish me too sternly for my ignorance. thanks again for your time.

Updated Eggman's TT1 welcome aboard mate 👍

Updated My new TT2 and TT8 video's 👍

Will grab the maxdrive replays over the weekend

Ron, I don't remember if it was the WRS or BC6, but man, your rallying is nutz... :) I remember watching it before I think, just going perpendicular to the road like it's nothing... Unable to actually see where you're going... :)

Here? (Ron @ The Alps)

And I believe the kiddy-view is actually pretty helpful when going sideways like this - you can see a bit more around you, and judge the placing of your car relative to the track?

Those laps seem remarkably close, driving-wise, to Zoky's BC6 lap (which I can't find on YouTube, but got on my PC) around Cathedral Rocks I...

Sorry for bringing it up again, Ron. But I desperately needed some racing and couldn't find anything else half as interesting as this one, so another 10 laps at TT6:

1'11.271

Updated Niels TT6 👍 Nice work mate

@ Hekke ...please update replays for TT5, TT6, TT7 :) ... Cheers buddy

Niels inspired me to run TT6 again :) down to 1'10.689 and I lose loads on the track ... this test can go 1'09 in the right hands and for sure them hands aint mine :dopey: but i can see it being done by the odd racer 👍

Updated

Sorry, Ron ... should have provided you´s with the replays long ago :ouch:
Thanks for letting me stay on the leaderboard anyhow :sly:

As for your TT8 Ron..... OUCH, that´s gonna hurt :scared: 👍
Very impressive time.

That goes for Hugo´s TT3 aswell :scared: 👍

Thanks for uploading Hekke 👍 ... and I see 2 updated 1st places in amongst them also you crafty sod ye :sly: Nice work mate!
I will watch them first thing tomorrow morning and update the links and verified logo's to the leaderboard accordingly

Do me a favour, Ron.
Take a good look at the TT6-replay.... I´ve checked and rechecked the lefthand corner going through that final s-bend and from what I could tell it´s clean, yet veeery close... but a second opinion would be nice 👍

If deemed dirty.... well, just have to put in a faster lap, eh :sly: 👍

My apologies for not getting back in here sooner but I have been doing a few PC repairs today and only just got round to viewing the 4 replays uploaded by Hekke .. here's my findings ..

TT1 - Clean 👍
TT5 - Clean 👍
TT6 - Clean 👍
TT7 - Clean 👍

No problems with any of them mate and all great laps  I did notice the brake/accel together on the long sweeper after T2 working nice on TT6 ;) you are using a DS2 right? for some reason my hands cant co-ordinate to press both together so my only conclusion is that you have 4 hands and 20 fingers :sly:

Nice work

I converted all your replays to .max and uploading them again here for linking to the Leaderboard 👍

Updating Leaderboard now ;)

Cheers mate
Ron.

 Now I see why he is so fast, and you have no need for heal/toe with the ds2 mate, you're way too quick as it is.....

Will you be making a vid for hsh? I'd like to see him run.

Yep I will be making vids of Hekke's 1st place runs tonight after work 👍

Playing around this morning before I have to ride the John Deere.:ouch:

TT1 1'18.627
TT4 1'25.207

Ran TT5 in a super time........wrong rubber! I knew I wasn't good enough for a 1'22.xxx:dunce: If it would only rain earlier than later I could spend the time racing! :)

Edit: Not only did I have the wrong tryes......I had the wrong Viper. :dunce: Common rain!!!

..... my only conclusion is that you have 4 hands and 20 fingers :sly:
I was exposed to too much radiation at a very early age... hence the 4 thumbs :sly:
On a serious note though, I´m an old schooler using the DS2 default setup meaning left analog stick for steering and righthandside buttons for acc. and brake....
"Heal/toe" feature is when my index finger comes into play... crossing over my thumb pushing the righthandside analog stick for braking :guilty:
Looks kinda silly but it´s working 💡

I converted all your replays to .max and uploading them again here for linking to the Leaderboard 👍

Ron.
Gotta hand it to you, Ron.... the work you´re putting in whilst racing at top level is just out of this world... amazing... and thanks 👍 👍
arora
...you have no need for heal/toe with the ds2 mate, you're way too quick as it is.....
Like I said.... Ron´s doing a hell of a job.

Won't that be Left-foot Braking? Heel-and-Toe is a shifting technique, which GT4 does for you while shifting since we don't have a clutch.

And while were at it, isn't it more comfortable just to push your thumb a little further, giving it access to both buttons? (Brake - tip, Gas - middle part)

I had a free afternoon today so I decide to make the replays of Hekke's runs and experiment with some soundtracks :dopey: I think they are ok for my first attempts 👍

I updated the Leaderboard with a direct screen for all the 1st places from TT1 - TT8 .... just waiting for Luke and Kent to post a file for me to convert and will do them also

Thanks to the drivers who have uploaded and cheers Hekke for the nice comments regarding the work to the Leaderboard ;) ... it took some time this afternoon but It gives me something to do and its worth it in the end

Now go watch those new vids guys and lets hear some opinions :sly:

Laters
Ron.

Just viewed all the videos.......great job Ron and loved the music selections. 👍

I only have one question...................what the hell am I doing here?:banghead:

TT1 1'18.627
TT4 1'25.207

I'm off to load one of Hekke's vids now, as you all may know I'm super slow dial up so it takes a while :(

The work you put into the leader board is cool indeed, thanks mate.

EDIT: Cool, Cool, I watched hekke at laguna, nice lap, I see the benifit of brief coasting in the first section, and way to hit the cork 👍

Thanks again for some great action, Ron. 👍

Here's my last PAL replay for the TT6 race at AH.
