Kent, just out of curiosity how long would you say it took to copy your Nurby replay to the MaxDrive? I tried doing that earlier but it just there reading it for 20 minutes.

That's a good question and something I was thinking about when Mr P had trouble with my replay.
When I go and deal with that again I will note all the little details. 👍
Off the top of my head though, I'd say it didn't take nearly that long (closer to 2 or 3 minutes if I recall correctly).

Am I the only one with a working MaxDrive? It takes me approximately 30-40 seconds to transfer a whole GT4 savegame - Nurb' replays, in the past, were about 10 seconds. What's wrong (or rather, right) with mine?

I remember mine being pretty quick when I used it in the last BC. Now it doesn't seem to be working well, if at all... Might have to send my MC to someone with a Sharkport, if it takes longer than 2 weeks Mr. P it's not a big deal to delete it. I'll get it proven eventually, meanwhile I'll work at it some more. No worries. 👍

If a new racer was giving the same scenario to me I would be left with no option but to delete the time after the deadline was up! ... but any racer I have known on the scene for the past few years and has always supplied the goods when requested and simply having a problem with a replay device asks me the same question? .. then I will be sure to let them find a way to supply and give an indefinite extension without deleting any times ;) ... I'm sure you can find a solution mate

I will accept video replays hosted at youtube also with the hp and tyres showing at the beginning of the replay if that helps any?
Cheers
Ron.

Here's my TT3 replay :)

Might have some time tonight for another shot 👍

I just tried to get TT10 off my card and something odd happend that had not happend last time... A message that "the device does not have enough availible storage" (more or less) came up several times and eventually a simple "an error has occured in the transfer."
So I'm speechless. :ouch:
Looking into fixing it, let me know how much time I have before it comes off the board. 👍
Back soon.
Later. :D

As with GP you have a problem with your device and I already know you are a valid racer so the time will stay and you can let me know when you have a fix for the problem and I'll get around to verifying it 👍

@ Hugo ... I grabbed your TT3 and will verify it in the morning and link and tick it 👍
Cheers
Ron.

I've had a good morning.:)

TT1: 1'19.562

If you need a replay let me know. The more stringent road rules have me leaving some time on the track but, it has made me a bit smoother if nothing else. :sly:

I just viewed Hugo's TT3 replay and it sure is an eye opener and I'm sure I can take a bit of time off my lap after watching that 👍 Great lines and speed all the way around the track .. Excellent lap mate

I honestly thought the accelerating and braking together in the bends was the reason for the blazing laptime but it was never used once in this lap .. simply he who dares wins! and Hugo dared and pulled off a real corker of a lap, my apologies for assuming :guilty:

Ok I just Updated Hugo's verified symbol and replay link to his leaderboard time and also updated gtbadboys TT1 👍

Nice work guys
Cheers
Ron.

Cheers, mate. Thanks for checking

I always try to drive as pure as possible, no "cheating" in the form of accelerating and braking together. Thanks for the compliment :)

And Ron B, nice lap you pulled off in the Lotus 👍 Will be a challenge for Steven to improve your time :sly:

Hugo, Thanks for the kudos, sure wish I had a PAL format so I could save your replays. When you and Mr P post a video it's like a Masters Class in driving.

I've learned more about driving and shifting pouring over those videos than you can imagine. Yes, spending time on the track is important but man, watching you guys drive is just amazing! Soooooo smooooth! 👍

I had some time on my hands today so I made a few videos and updated them to the leaderboard :) click this ... *Video* at the end of the time on the leaderboard and it will take you directly to the uploaded youtube video for that lap 👍

Here's what I just uploaded anyway ..

Mr P - TT1 / TT2 / TT4 / TT8
Hugo Boss - TT3

I will only be making video's of the 1st place laps as it would be just too much work otherwise .. downloading / verifying / converting / and uploading a multitude of replays to youtube would drive me crazy

Enjoy the vids anyway and feel free to leave comments here and at youtube if you wish
Cheers
Ron.

Very nice Ron 👍 I see your going all out on this one. I think most of the top spots will be pal, so posting vids is really cool.

Thanks mate

Thanks Ron.
I appreciate the understanding at this time. A new replay (faster of course) or the same one in a new file will be coming as soon as I can get it done. 👍

No probs Erik! always happy to show the guys who cant view other regions the laps in question 👍

No worries Kent! Good luck with the new lap and also getting the replay device to work ... will make a replay and upload to youtube when its available

Ron, thanks a million for the vids.👍

It's just a great learning tool for us slow pokes and alien wannabes! :sly:

Edit: Just watched all the videos.......several times. There is nothing I can say........................

I will view them several more times I'm sure. Thanks.👍

That's some lap at tokyo Hugo! Amazing lines that maximize all of the track, and I mean all of it, deceptivly fast, especially the back, after the double right, smoking through what is the "pinball" section often for me.

Grrr... TT10 was looking so lonely that I had to have a decent go at it before bed. Yes, getting rough around the ring is more important than sleep sometimes... And man, what an engine! Oh, the midrange... Keep it a gear high and it just pulls on through... A "bit" skittish in the rear though, so I'm going to have to leave my under 7 minute lap until next week... No clean lap for tonight, but each time I'd start a new lap, I'd find another two seconds in the first three T times... After 5 laps I've seen a dirty 7'08, with mucho more to come off. Good stuff! Nighty night!

Thanks a lot for making the video's, Ron! How to manage your pace around the rally tracks is still a mistery to me

Thanks, mate. Good to see you like it. The city tracks always give me less problems, since it's clear where the limits are. Could be me though

Tokyo has a blind wall/corner or two... I'm not sure I'd classify that as clear limits, lol! Seriously though, that track is nuts at the limit, always more time to be had! Unless you're Hugo. 👍

Just wanted to mention that I've really started to run TT10 more and more over the course of this morning (now it's about 5pm)... Since then I've managed to see quite some improvements (although no new clean laps).
On the note of improvements though... I've seen a T2 of 1'17.1
Fastest I've managed and at the moment my current best (6'58.303) is running a 1'18.0/1... Should be interesting to see if I can go below 6'56 now. :mischievous:
For me that will be hard, for faster racers I'm sure it is possible. 👍

Good luck all.

Also,
Ron, I think it would be best if you took my time down on TT10. :(
I'll replace it with something soon but as of now it seems like there is something seriously wrong with my system (somewhere that I haven't found).
Maxdrive keeps telling me there isn't enough space on my flashdrive yet I'm using a 512mb with nothing on it. :ouch:

Just want to look like I'm working on something so I'll submit this lowly 7:13.298 clean. as a starting point for TT10. I'm hoping to wittle it down 10 seconds to at least get into Grand Prix territory with a more aggressive run later.....hopefully.:nervous: That's going to take some doing from what I'm seeing so far.

I'll send up a replay if I don't beat my time shortly.

Was just about to run TT10 again when I noticed that the brakes were applied while at full throttle. Now I have to take apart the pedals again.... Grrrrrr!!!

Here's my PAL maxdrive files of the times I have submitted to the Leaderboard! .. for some kind person to verify and say whether they are clean or not and I can add the green tick when and if approved? 👍

Ron, If I had a PAL format not only would I verify and keep 'em, I'd ghost 'em for the rest of my life probably!! :) This PAL/NTSC thing bites!!

I need to move on and get off TT1 for awhile. I've been flirting with getting into the 1'18's but can't manage to pull off the damned last turn before the last tunnel. Seems I had a problem with that turn with the Jaguar a while back. :banghead:

I think I've come a long way since Jan. Most of the drivers on this forum are the reason for that progress and I thank you all! 👍 Still in your rearview but, you might be able to at least see my headlamps now. :)

Edit: your video of "Swiss Alps" proves you are from another planet my friend!!:nervous:

Cheers mate 👍

Yes I agree the PAL/NTSC thing does bite and it did in the previous versions also .. thats why I go out of my way to make sure I can play multiple regions by hook or by crook :sly: I had the ability to play NTSC and PAL in GT3 and its the same now with GT4 .. I dont wanna miss out is all  If only it was one format for all then life would be so much simpler and a lot less costlier :scared: they do it to squeeze every last penny they can and it will happen from now until dooms day ... we are the mugs and they know how to coin it in! .. just a greedy bunch of clever sods :P

Updated Gt3Emperor's TT10 👍 welcome to the Leaderboard mate ;)
