I was thinking something along these lines for the race car.I have decals that relate to the snail experience.Representing our various series, our sponsors, gear favorites, and notorious gang of thugs.Any suggestions for decals or changes in design are welcome.Thoughts?

Oh look.. you even have @GTP_Nail 's Phantum Spook decal on the car!

OP is updated with the combos. Make sure you practice with the correct time of day and be sure to set tire wear to off. I'll post a screen shot of the lobby settings we'll be using in Sport so you can practice under the correct conditions. Once I get PCars loaded up to practice I'll update the time of day for those combos (sunny skies noon or closest possible). Other than that we'll be using the settings you guys run on Mondays, except we wont be needing to pit. I'll figure out how many laps of fuel 20 minutes uses for the race and I'll post the starting fuel level everyone should use.

I had a chance to join Mike's lobby just before we did Sunday spec racing tonight and it was pretty cool to see those guys in a GT lobby. I've known the Lobanaro crew for a few years now and not once have we ever been in a GT lobby together. They all moved on by the time I joined SNAIL. So I'm happy an event like this has given them some motivation to give Sport a try (and I know they arent ones to back down from a challenge)

Incase you Lobanaro guys have been wondering how long its been since you've raced SNAIL/Gran Turismo - here ya go:

Its been awhile! Glad to see you guys back

Haha....Mr. Sam”Detective”Hain.....just glad you didn’t delve into our social media worlds....;) ;) :D

It was fun to read those stats and brought back memories. I will never forget my 2 1/2 years of Sunday nights, and Grimm’s Tuesday nights. Made a lot of good friends, some of whom I still race against in our Lounge. I got quite involved during my SNAIL days, scorekeeping and division manager, and learnt, mostly from DW, how much work went on behind the scenes for Sunday nights!
I even heard from a few SNAIL guys (that I haven’t raced with since Sunday nights), wishing me the best during my recovery, that meant a lot.
Looking forward to this night and racing against some old competitors!
BTW, as I’m Mr. Baawsome for this past week, can I brag about my 100 point night in SNAIL

The all elusive perfect 100 point race night.

Out of the 800+ people that have ever raced in SNAIL - only 7 have accomplished it. 1st place in all 6 races (which includes reverse grids) and pole position in all 3 combos.

It really is a true Mr. Baaawesome award.

Now the question is, how many people showed up to race in your division that night?

I know, I know.......you could have at least given me a couple of hours of glory
It was in D8, I forget the number but there wasn't many, but I do remember just getting one of the wins by half a car length!

Every one of those perfect night has either had something out of the ordinary happen. Aero had 4 drivers for his. One of the others was in the, now defunct, west coast division which started at 9PM PT and consisted of drivers of all skill levels in the same room so no shock that an honest to goodness alien could score 100 pts. in there. Finally a good number of those were individuals that quickly moved up as they were obviously in the wrong place. SNAIL used to start all drivers in the lowest division and move them up as necessary. This was before the time trial. Of course, some of those drivers completely sandbagged their time trial and as soon as they got promoted, were never heard from again.

With all that being said, it's still a 100 pt night and @aerolite 's version of it is one of the most legit instances on the list.

I got 100 points.........one season. I also remember winning my first ever, ever online race with the Snails, Lotuses at Daytona. All the stars aligned for Steve that night. 4 years ago and He’s still wallowing in his lost glory.....reminds me of Al Bundy’s high school stardom, we all know how that turned out.

Yeah great choice with the BMW. We had a blast trying it out last night.

With this event getting closer we need to start thinking about who's racing and who's not. I'm happy to see theres 25 of us interested in running this event but unfortunately only 16 will be able to participate. Spurt does have the capability of running 24 in a lobby, but is only utilized in FIA events and not for us weekend warriors in public lobbies.

I dont want anyone to feel left out but we need to come up with something. Do we prioritize those that signed up first? Do we go by SNAIL/Lobanaro seniority? Do we hold a "win and you're in" heat race where the top 8 for each team lock up a spot for race night? I dont want there to be any ruffled feathers as this is a community event where all of us are equals. So no hard feelings - were all adults. So whats the fairest way to decide?

We also need to make sure we have a few backups on standby so we run the whole night with 8 to a team. If someone has to backout last second and theres no one to step in, that will mess with your team points.

Just know: If you dont race this first event you will be guaranteed a spot for the next one. This rivalry series will be run again and again.

I suggest that for us GTSport guys we hold a set of races in PCars2 with the respective car/track combos to determine who races the event.Maybe the PCars2 guys could do the same!

Mike and I have already discussed this and the first thing we are going to do is get a firm commitment from the interested drivers, that right there could well get us down to 8. If not, we will go by seniority.
Even as it stands right now, Pots said he has to work that night and Lessen knows he’s out of the main list, so that’s 8 there.

I have no problem being “bumped” if need be. I am getting my pcars fix with camel on Wednesday’s. I do really want to participate but If we have more than 8 on race night I can standby as a backup and worst case lock in my spot for round 2.

Are there any "Auto" qualifiers?

I will make the executive decision to say that the following people have automatic entries:

SNAIL:
1. @SAMHAIN85
2. @Rednose58
3. @JLBowler

Lobanaro:
1. @aerolite
2. @Mike Lobban

The rest is up for everyone else to decide. It looks like Lobanaro already has their own method of coming up with their entries. I'll take this to our PM to decide whos racing for SNAIL.

Thanks for offering. We'll figure something out in the PM.

Well, I unfortunately will be able to help this situation a bit :indiff:.

I just found out that I have a job on the 25th and am not going to be able to attend this first race.

I'm not that upset because, I'm certain this is going to be a hit and will most likely be the first of many races like this going forward :).

I just spent a good amount of time getting together the room/race settings for each game in the OP. Let me know if Lobanaro sees anything off with the settings. I'm a noob when it comes to PCars lobbies. I have 'Rules and Penalties' turned off so no one gets DQ'd or black flagged. But this still allows "Track Limit Penalties" to be on which is what we want. But now I'm also just noticing that "Drive through penalties" are also on. Those should be off since we shouldnt have to go into the pits for any reason for this first go around. So I'll fix that.

Fuel consumption and tire wear will be set to off for both games.
I tested to see what happens if you set your fuel to 1L in PCars. It will default you to a generic amount like 6.8L once you leave the pits. So we will remind everyone to turn down their fuel to 1L before the race/qualifier so we're all running the same weight all race.
PCars combos will allow full tuning.

SNAIL normally runs with no penalties. For this event we will have penalties set to 'weak'. For you new Sport guys - you dont have to serve the penalty within an amount of time like in PCars. Carry it the entire race if you'd like and it will just round up and be added to your total time. Note for qualifying: If you carry a penalty to begin a fresh lap, your lap will be invalidated. So be sure to scrub off your penalty before starting a flyer.

I tested all of the combos and got some lap times for each one and calculated the amount of laps it'll take to run roughly 20 minute races each.

There will be no practice before each combo's qualifier in order to speed things up. A 10 min qualifier should be enough time to warm up and set a decent lap. Since Sport is still in the stone ages and has no qualifying option (at least in public lobbies) we will announce when qualifying ends in-game and if you're on a flying lap you'll be able to complete it and then stop.

In the Sport combos please leave your brake balance set to 0 as this is spec racing where we all are running with the same settings.

Raw is nice enough to put together some liveries for us in the Sport combos which I'll update in the OP once they are complete. The PCars liveries I put up there are just placeholders for now. Although I do like the idea of Light vs Darkside. And knowing Steve I'm sure he'll want a yellow/black livery run at least once on race night which is why I put that there ;)

Thats all I can think of for right now. Just getting this all out quickly before I head to bed and you guys can practice with the correct settings.

I think fastest lap should receive a bonus point.

The bonus point for 4 pole positions I don't care much about.

Looks good to me,That 1 extra point for all 4 poles may come into play!

If fuel is off, setting it to 1 or 5 or 100 won’t matter, it still gives you a set amount to everyone.
