No way, no hell is drinkin' and GT'ing ever a good idea.. I cant keep the srt X on mark for more than 40 seconds, and honestly, HONESTLY think these sub 4min people are some working of the matrix?? lol unreal

With a little rum (little left in the bottle, that is) I finally got my first clean lap; 4:43.

I left about 20 seconds in the last sector because that was killing me earlier--so I crawled as safely as possible. I'm pretty sure I could do 4:00, but I don't think the neighbors want to hear me touch the grass or fly off a curb anymore today. Maybe I'll attempt a better time after the weekend.

Now THAT was fun. Like a madman on the first half, then sweaty hands and cramps, so i did the cruising thing for the rest of the lap. Also, huge respect for those who did it with the DS3.

Any of you guys use the chase camera? The aero parts on the car are crazy.

Since I got the wheel, I can't use the chase camera anymore. I literally can't drive in that camera mode. It's not like I have used it ever since interior views became a thing, but still. Pity, because what's the point of having nice cars if you can't look at them?

I think Gran Turismo has a replay option. better than the helicopter chase drone camera.

The look of the car is not that bad, almost classic proportions, the aero tea trays are a distraction in replays.

Now I want to see a comparison run between the X2011 and the SRT X on this track. Just to see how they fare vs each other. :D

Ever since SRT released that video, i kept an image in my head - The carbon-prototype X (which i chose as prize, btw) shooting hell fire from the back with the aero parts moving about. Can't drive at all with the chase camera, but i'll definitely watch the replays every time i race it

I just took the X2011 around in GT5 (lost my copy years ago and just started a new game in GT5XL), made an easy 5-minute pass. But, it was not as clean as you need to be in this event...

Got home at 3PM, started this one in another account, BOOM FLATS BOINK,WOOSHH, Start, right right, exit, goodbye, bought it and drove on routeX, much more fun.

Half the time I didn't make it past the first right hander BEFORE the start line without either spinning off or clipping the armco! I had to hit the brakes the second I started...

It sounds like there's going to be a long queue at the dealership and then at Route X with this car.

For right now, I've summoned quite a bit of frustration, but I know in the back of my mind I love challenges like this! But seriously, even when I'm trying to take it extremely easy and just get a feel for the car, I go off well before I even hit 1 min of track time. I'm very comfortable with driving the ring, but this car is quite difficult.

Comparing it to the equally bonkers Lotus Senna 97T, that car is actually a joy to drive on the ring (with full downforce). It still certainly kicks out like a drunk bull, but I still managed to do multiple & consecutive clean laps with it. Even had a ball taking replay photos.

I suppose relaxing is key. When I really manage to relax, I get focused and lap some good times. Driving this car is pure adrenaline though, so it's hard, almost a contradictory effort !

@Whodoyouthink, the faster you go, the better it handles.

You can clearly notice that when you shift down to 2nd gear, the car feels heavier, the grip disappears, it's like you're suddenly driving something else... the whole thing NEEDS crazy speeds to work you know...

If you're going for a safe lap, avoid the brakes, the 2nd gear, and trust the downforce.

Little known fact is that when Jesus died, they placed his coffin in the SRT X as a hearst because it had these "alien" vibes. But the coffin slipped, hit the pedal and went so fast it brought him back for 3 days straight.

To this day, they now call it the "Jesus pedal".

So just go full throttle; he'll guide you.

This **** is wild, man.

DS3 4:26 (5:00 is REALLY easy to do, just complete the lap)
totally love this car <333 the handling is unreal and the nurburgring track is on purpose (the only time i really enjoyed this track), you can do alot of parts on full gas. really love the flow/dynamic and it even didn't bother me to spend ~1.5-2 hours to practice on it. i really don't understand why people complain, for example the F1 challange is much worse (trash control, sliding away etc) SRT X is very forgiving, and feels very intuitive.
the best event this time.

I managed a 4:46.094 using a DS3. I drove as fast as I could in the first half, and I took the last half around medium-high speed, not wanting to incur a penalty. This took so many tries, that it's not even funny. I contemplated giving up, but I kept at it. As Jenson Button once said, "Never give up." It was so satisfying when I got Gold. This car is unreal (And extremely unforgiving.) I also ran with no assists.

All I have to say about this is that some is not right. I watched the replay of the number 1 guy's race, and I saw many times where he left the track, but I guess because of the speed he was driving the game did not register it as him leaving the track. I tried to go a little faster but with a DS3 I just can not stay on the track at those speeds. I will just buy the dame car and try and figure out what I will do with 3 SRT cars.

Bronzed by less than .2 seconds after a few false starts. Wild drive. Can't imagine how the #1 driver got that time (3:21, as I recall).

How in the world did y'all manage to complete & win at least bronze? Were you using a wheel? Me & my DS3 couldn't get to the carousal w/o getting disqualified. I tried every imaginable configuration of driving options to no avail so I'm giving up.

I left TCS at 5, ABS 1, steering sensitivity 7- but that's going to be twitchy on the stick for most people. It seems to be taking everyone an hour or more to complete this one. Best advice is easy on the brakes, coast around as many corners as you can, keep the car in one gear above the recommended gear for the turns, and only floor it on the straights. Deploy the low drag aero on the big long straight and slow down before the curve at the end. I didn't use the low drag, so it's not necessary, but it helps I'm sure.

Also...take breaks. I think fatigue is what's ruined everyone's day with this, haha.

You guys doing this with DS3's are amazing. Without my wheel I'm lost. I had TC set to 1 and ABS 1 and steering sensitivity to 7 and steering at strong
