Standard cars in GT6?

AleksandarSRB
For me its premium quality exterior without modeled interior on premium level. So no cockpit view for semi-premium car

No way i would buy GT6 then. All cars with cockpit view and in same quality if they want me to buy the game.

It amazes me what people are willing to accept from PD, i doubt they would take it in other games but PD get a free pass it seems.

I was going to say something along those lines.

The more pd think they can get away with it the more things that won't be fixed in gt6.

With being a consumer how can people put up with paying full price for a game if it has standard or even partial standard cars.

Personally, if T10 had decided to carry over all its cars - as they were - from previous games into, say, FM3, I wouldn't have criticised them for it. Well, depending on how they implemented it.
Similarly, I don't think PD should be criticised for including the Standards, just for how they were included (they should have been semi-hidden away as legacy items) - I get a lot of enjoyment out of them anyway, which is all that matters.

And I doubt PD are really sitting there thinking "what can we get away with?", I'm pretty sure they're just trying to make a high-profile game under the strictest, most contrary public "criticism" it might be possible for a group of people to muster.

That said, I don't see the point of "semi-Premium" models - there's little sense in taking a step backwards now (the Standards were not a step backwards, they were a step already taken.)

I would, I don't know why people find it acceptable for there to be two clear different levels of quality in a game, and one of them being clearly from the previous generation. Especially not when it's a car game and the problem models are the CARS. Then they went and added silhouette interiors and people were ok with that as well despite them looking AWFUL for a PS3 game.

Now there are still people who don't mind standard cars in the next game. Baffling.

Others are still wanting to have standard cars? WHY? Don't you want to see you're favorite cars looking all new and "premium"? Standard cars were only brought into GT5 to up the car count, which imo, sucked.

If standard cars were to come in GT6 too, I won't be buying it, seriously this isn't the past anymore, this is the present going into the future. So therefore everything must be done new and fresh.

Maybe the people that don't mind are simply more easy going? The quality of many of the GT4 models is actually very high, although they're obviously much lower fidelity than the Premiums.

I'd be quite happy for remaining Standards to be carried over to GT6 (well, maybe not on PS4, since there should be plenty of time to catch up by then), as long as they're put in sensibly and it is made abundantly clear that they are not meant to be current-gen offerings, and are there as a sort of Easter Egg / bonus / nod / whatever for those that might appreciate it.

Everyone else can stay away if it pains them so much - that is the major criticism for GT5's handling of the Standards, they said we could complete the game without touching / seeing them, and that's not true. They might have been better received as an add-on, strangely enough.

I'd love it if it were possible to include the missing cars from GT2, but clearly the physics engine has changed far too much for that to be worthwhile (they might as well model them as Premiums).

False dichotomy, ten yard penalty.

Actually alot of the standards were a step backwards. All of the cars that lost their unique traits and only differed by power level. 👎 I would never want to see that repeated. However alot of the old race cars and unique models I can accept as semi premium. I was using my 205 Turbo 16 last night and having a blast with it despite how terrible it looks.

I demand standard cars because I demand USED cars with lots of mileage, black oil, and lower Performance Points. :)

Respectfully,
Steve

Premium or standard, I don't really care, as long as the car doesn't look like it's taken straight from GT3. I use cockpit cam with nearly all of my cars.

I'm still doing my back in getting into my Subaru Legacy through the boot, since it doesn't appear to have any doors! Either that or they kind of melt into a seamless surface, like that ball thing in the film Contact.

I don't ask for ultra-realistic graphics - just some consistency. Taking a photo of a premium car alongside a blocky-edged thing like a Supra RZ...it just looks a bit naff to me. Especially when you catch one of those pop-up cardboard recovery trucks at the side of the track...

And thats another thing, I enjoy the used car lot. I cant see them making it so the only way you can get certain premium cars that they spent so much time on is waiting for them to pop up somewhere down the line.

And used cars can't be Premium? Previous to GT5, GT games also had used cars with the same level of modelling as the new ones obviously.

There is absolutely no reason 'used' cars need to be lower quality models, none at all.

The standard cars can't stay like that on PS4, that's for sure, imagine the mockery Sony would get throughout gaming sites that PS2 graphics are still being used. However having standard cars with premium exteriors and then getting maybe 50 premium interior models every now and then over the years through updates is not so tragic.

I don't think this would happen, so at the end of the day I still hope PD just works away over the years and adds ALL previous vehicles to the game in top-notch quality, plus of course new one from all decades.

This.

No developer would get away with PS2 content. No developer.

You get flamed if you create a top game with a bad ending like Mass Effect did. How can PD get away with PS2 content?

What the .... is the app broken on android?

I'd rather not get piece-meal vehicles; that's still giving us a divide on model quality, which should not be something tolerated, much less asked for, by the community, IMO. If PD has a new Premium's exterior modelled without the interior done, then the car is not complete. I'll take it when it is, thanks.

Not sure where the concept that used cars couldn't be Standards came from, but... nooooooooooo. I'm fine with Premiums populating the Used lots, provided the UCD represents something more like the previous games' version, and not GT5's terribad one. Besides, provided PD plays smart and makes every car in the game available in Arcade Mode right off the bat, you can at least see the cars there and test-drive them.

Kind of odd (in a lame way) how you can buy both Standard and Premium versions of the same car in GT5. Ford GT and R34 Skyline being two examples.

standard cars in GT6 is a no no...

There shouldn't be any quality differences in the cars. And used cars should have the same quality, featuring differences such as used mileage on the car's dashboard, dirty exterior, worn out leather on the seats, dirty tires and so on.

SimpleBo
But if the car purchased has zero mileage then it would not be a used car would it? :dunce:

I know, it is a shambles and very misleading in making you think that 750 or whatever unique vehicles are available.

I think the users of this forum might have something to do with it.

He was saying if someone bought a new car then used it a little then sold it then it should be In the ucd.

Used cars in GT6 should be cars that people purchased from the new car lot and then sold from their garage.

I hope you mean "in addition to a normal UCD rotation", since that'd completely screw over anybody who doesn't connect online. Plus, it'd make it that every single car needs to be available as-new in the NCD.

Personally, I'd rather they approach the idea of us buying other peoples' used cars the easier way; an Auction House / Online Used Car Dealership. But keep it separate from the typical UCD... and please PD, go back to one of the other models for used cars, as GT5 had the worst of the series by far.

I hope to see a successor to GT5 in 2013. Therefore I doubt, they will get all cars to Premium until then. So, yes. We will definitely see "Standard Cars".

...ABSOLUTELY...NOT!!!!!! FREAKING FORZA CREATES MORE CARS (500-600 VS. 200) DETAILED AS GOOD AS REAL LIFE IN TWO YEARS THAN PD'S PEOPLE COULD HAVE IN FIVE!!!!!!! :banghead: :irked:

Nice triple post.

Not entirely true. GT5's cars level of detail on Premium cars is noticeably better than Forza's, especially whilst in photomode.

&, well... they do have a bigger team working on Forza (Last time I checked at least) ..So that would explain the shorter development time.
