I don't know who Princess Leila is but dinner with her would beat all the options at this point. :)

Looks like Fuji with N3s is the track. Evora and 111R at 547pp.

Battle roster

Oh no... too much power for me. I will look like a jerk when I'm spinning in every corner. :(

Cause we will race with almost max PP's, does it mean there is no delay at start then? That would be awesome cause I'm recording races. We maybe could get material of whole race in that case... resultpage and times.

ORGANISERS: Have you think about how is starting procedure going to go this time? Is it same way like last time in Bond-race, or something else.

I saw the huge amount of drivers who are in this, and crazy idea came to my mind.

What do you think would happen if every competitor would push 'race'-button at same time... lets say xx:03. Ofcourse it's only 12 who would end up to first grid, but after that all the others who get 'error'-message, would push 'race'-button again, and again... so long that you got your start.

We dont know, maybe if many players push 'race' same time we could get 16-players grid, or two race would start same time?

Interesting aspect would be that every race would be with different drivers, and when people will go to sleep, we have no trouble to keep rest of us in same schedule.

Strange - we where actually thinking about using this entery when we worked on the Bond event. The way we use a host to make a race valid can make this work. And of course it would be a great way to make complete GTP race grids. However in the "A new hope" race we need to do it a litle different. Stealthwinnr will make a post tomorrow evening where everything is explained. Mostly its because the lack of world events - then we need a system for produsing final results from different races.

Im doing some 547pp testing at fuji this evening. Hope to se other rebellions out there. Ill use the 550pp entery.

I'm not sure I'll be able to supply tunes in time. I already tuned the Evora and 111R for 500PP but 547PP will require different settings for sure. During weekends that's usually not a problem, but my time is very limited on weekdays. What time are you planning the race anyway, I couldn't find that info anywhere (yet)?

I still need to retune... but I think I can get that done tomorrow... 👍 547PP??

There will be different racetimes for different groups starting from 20.00 GMT for the early drivers.
Race rules and race information will be out tomorrow evening.
I really hope you'll reach to make some tunes. Im using my suz 600pp tune and it works fine for me with some different gear ratios.

DEADLINE FOR THE POLL IS 19.00 GMT TOMORROW

Right now Daytona 650pp is in the lead.

3. december - A new hope - Star Wars event

Final track and car pp will be announced tomorrow at 21.00 GMT

Looks like Fuji with N3s is the track. Evora and 111R at 547pp.

Dude, what is it? On the 28th you mention the final car/track will be announced the 29th. On the 29th you announce Fuji/547PP as the way to go. Now you're saying the poll is still running and Daytona is in the lead?

Count me out of this event, permanently.

Im sorry for the DC decision. It can be hard pressure to work in the service industry. I hope DC will join forces in the future and that the rest of the tuners are still inn.
All organisers is now back from different real life obligations and the track and pp will be announced tonight together with rules of the event. Please remember this is a event in the name of fun and friendly competition between the GTP members.

T&L tunes will be posted tonight.

We're all really sorry you feel that way, you're clearly pissed off. You might remember that wasn't anybody's intention and we just wanted to slowly unfold the plan for what everyone admits should be an exciting way to get GTPers together to race.

The new PD events update has thrown everybody a curve ball and the exact same thing is happening in the Sixaxis Championship thread with their planned cycle of events and stages. Whatever you may think about the T&L guys like Marchbrown and Stealthwinnr who are trying to set this up, GTP_Wanna_B and GTP_JackStanley are also two fantastic guys who have done incredibly well to manage, organise and set up that Sixaxis championship...yet they have been forced to revise their original plans, and also they have incorporated a poll to allow the participants the opportunity to have their say instead of just saying "These are the rules, like it or lump it".

I don't think your response to what Jon is trying to do here for everyone's enjoyment is fair or warranted, this is supposed to be fun and we're doing our best. Your involvement was our privelege and pleasure, and any involvement you still care to have in subsequent stages of this event will be very welcome. I personally use your tunes and will continue to do so happily because you're a quality tuner and a quality bloke. But seriously, cut the guys some slack ok? There's no need to get on their case for responding to a last-minute curve ball and giving people a choice.

All the best
Maz

When will the decision be made, although i do like to use a recognized tuners car now and then, i like to tune my own as i do feel a sense of satisfaction when I'm able to compete with my own tune, even though my driving may let me down on times. I've only managed 2 laps upto now with the Evora at Fuji but i see it could be the 111R GT tuned, which i have not even tried yet.

I can understand Lars's frustration, not that it would make much difference, i nearly pulled from this as i need a bit more time than the tuners to get my car going the right way. I also understand the organizers problems, as Maz says, the curve ball PD threw us is playing havoc with the SixAxis Championship.

Anyhow what car, and are people on a schedule while practicing?

Thank you for entering A new hope – Star wars race

The T&L crew with their collaborators Blitz Hendrix tuning and garage TZT hope you will enjoy this event.

In the following you’ll find most of the information needed to participate in the event.

Making balanced grids

- There is 35 drivers who will compete in A new hope race.
- Drivers will be divided in four groups representing the fighter squadrons from the movie:

Red squadron
Gold squadron
Green squadron
Blue squadron

- Make sure you know which squadron you are in.

Race host

- Members of T&L will host the different races.
- The race host takes part in the race like everyone else.
- To be an official Star wars race - one race host and at least 3 other participants need to complete the race.
- The race host, a T&L member, makes sure rules of the event are followed.
- A race without a host will not be valid

Verification of the race

- A race is valid if joined by a race host – and at least 3 other participants.
-All 4 drivers, the host and at least 3 other participants, needs to be on track until race time is finished.
- If one out of the 4 gets a DC while in a race its not valid.
- If you can’t connect to the race time due to full grid or DC, start new player matching at once.
- If this race is joined by a host and at least 3 other drivers the race will be valid, and race results verified.
- Remember you'll need to reach next race start of the race time schedule. Stop joining new race 3 min after original race start if DC.
- Make sure you don’t interfere with the race times for the next group.

Race start

- Start of race: No delayed race start. Go go go…

Race rules

- Standard GTP OLR rules and guidelines apply.

Race report

- We realize it will be very difficult to nail the race results, especially if the race time runs out before all has finished, making it hard to get a final standings classification.
- If you have the opportunity to report back which race you were in, who finished ahead of them etc, we should be able to get a good picture of what happened.
- If you got a camera please help us and make a picture of the final standings.
- Please post in the thread to report finishing positions in the following format:

Race: xx.06
Race host:
1st Blue squad – GTP_xxx
2nd Green squad – GTP_xxx
3rd Red squad - GTP_xxx

Track and pp restrictions

- The race is held at two race tracks: Expert class Fuji and expert class Daytona
- PP at Fuji is 547pp
- PP at Daytona is 650pp

Cars Fuji- At Fuji you can choose between Lotus Evora or Lotus Elise 111R – 547pp
- We prefer if you use a color for your car representing you squad color. If you’re in Blue squadron you’ll need a blue car.

Car Daytona
- At Daytona we use Lotus Elise 111R tuned – 650pp
- We prefer if you use a color for your car representing you squad color. If you’re in Blue squadron you’ll need a blue car.

Racing groups
- All drivers are divided in different race groups. Group 1, 2, 3 and 4
- In each of the racing groups we’ll try to have all squads represented with at least to drivers.

Driver 1: Red
Driver 2: Red
Driver 3: Gold
Driver 4: Gold
Driver 5: Green
Driver 6: Green
Driver 7: Blue
Driver 8: Blue
Etc..

Race time

- Make sure you know which group you are in, and the correct race times for this group.

Start time and race schedule:
Group 1 - Luke : 05/20/35/50 - starting 21.05 GMT PAL
Group 2 – Yoda : 10/25/40/55 - starting 21.10 GMT PAL
Group 3 – ObiWan : 05/20/35/50 - starting 22.35 GMT PAL
Group 4 – Qui-gon : 05/20/35/50 – starting …………………. GMT NTSC

Number of races

- There will be 6 races at each track
- We start at Fuji. You choose the car you want to drive. After 6 races you need to change track.
- We race at Fuji for 1,5 hours, 6 races, before changing track
- Next 6 races is held at Daytona. You need the GT tuned Lotus Elise 111R.
- We race 1,5 hours, 6 races at Daytona.
- Use your group race schedule at both tracks.

Points and positions

- In each race points will be given:

1st position gets 10 points
2nd position gets 9 points
3rd position gets 8 points
4th position gets 7 points
5th position gets 6 points
6th position gets 5 points
7th position gets 4 point
8th position gets 3 point
9th position gets 2 point
10th position gets 1 point

Please remember the key thing is to enjoy yourself and have close and well-fought races. If many squadron members are absent from races and the team as a whole scores low due to poor attendance, why should your squadron get the glory!

Also, remember that whichever squadron comes out on top, the key thing is that the Empire is stopped and that exhaust port gets bombed! The Rebellion will be victorious, not individual fighters or squadrons.

Although we will be as diligent and accurate as possible with the scoring, please don't take the overall results too seriously. If you want to prove to your colleagues that you are THE Man, there's always the IFTC

Remember to enjoy yourselves more than anything else.

We'll use the regular schedule for practicing. As you can see it will be Evora and 111R 547pp at Fuji and then for the one who wants to make the hole event 111R tuned 650pp at Daytona.

Not seen the groups but can i request group 1 or 2, the i may be able to finish the evnt, group 3 would mean only first half, cheers and sorry for any hassle

I dont have time to tune today I think... tomorrow again... So my submissions will be late :)

Because Finish time, GMT+2, I have possibility to take a part only to Fuji races... sorry for that.

Why that Group 3 starts 22.35...?

There's no need to get on their case for responding to a last-minute curve ball and giving people a choice.
Let me start off by saying 'hats off' to anybody hosting any event here, I know it must be a lot of work. 👍

I understand the change of events has thrown everybody off, but the things I am referring to occurred well after the change of events. I was under the assumption (and many people with me) that the poll ended the 29th and a decision for a car/track had been made: Fuji/547PP.

Then, without warning or explanation, the poll is extended (apparently) and the choice is likely to be a different track (and thus different settings), or perhaps even two tracks. This, IMO, adds greatly to the confusion already present and is totally unnecessary. That's like adding another curveball to the mix.

Add to that that my spare time is limited and tuning for said combinations of tracks and cars requires different tuning and testing and I have simply decided to spend the precious (and little) spare time I have on other events and activities (that have less of an uncertainty factor in them).

No offence or disrespect meant to anybody. I am sure you will survive without me and you can count on me for upcoming events. :) Just not this one. ;)

Because of some late night racers. Some people can race early, some late, some in USA, some in Finland my friend. When groups are ready its possible to change racetimes within the group if everybody agree.

Ok, that explains.

ps. I would like to be in Group 1 or 2... :)

Fair points Lars, and I just want to repeat, you are THE Man for tunes. I really look forward to your participation in Episode V 👍

And thank you again for all your help so far, as you can see from the use of both tracks in this event, anything you have spent your time providing will be immensely valuable to the racers.

All the best
Maz
