Hi Nik, thats a shame mate, but i can understand.
We have found that if, before you come online, you restart your router, start the psn, clear the cashe, and come stright into the race lobby, and dont leave until after the race, the connection is much better.
We all now do this.

Can you give it another go on Monday ?

still don't think its dead yet as i heard somewhere that pcars on ps4 had same issue, i was in the snail thread the other day and some of them have rang sony to complain !

May be back in this series in the future, but not with this handicap system, and not on GT6

The handicap system works on the right day. Trial Mountain and Tokyo worked well as we were all within a shout of winning.

Monaco seemed like it didn't work too well, yes Daniel was in group 4 but he ended up winning by over a minute. Same at Silverstone. That's just not from wrong grouping, that's Daniel not making a mistake in group 4 and proving that the time gaps are just too much to make up for us at the back.

I wouldn't have faired well at Monaco. Besides hitting walls, I'd still be over 20 seconds down on Daniel had he been in group 3 as I can't make up 30 seconds to him in 90 minutes at our respected paces.



What could have been an alternative solution this season you ask?
Everyone can qualify and run at the same time but award points for the everyone's positions in their respected groups.

Daniel is a transformed driver without a doubt.
At Monaco, had he been in group 3 he would have finished 40 seconds later than he did, putting him in 5th place rather than first.

The system worked well as everyone was very close at the end, its just that Daniel has put in the hours of practice and everything seems to have clicked into place with him, we cant knock him for that.
Anyway, he has been moved to group 3, and they start 40 seconds later than he did at Monaco.

I'm not knocking Daniel at all, in fact I respect him. He's improved dramatically since I first raced with him! So well done to him!

This handicap system is by far the best we have ever ha, and we have tried many many systems over the last 3 years.
With Daniel in G3 it would have been very close for the 1st 5 at Monaco.

That's a pity I cannot race with you guys in La Sarthe... I love Le Mans. Next week I will not be in Roma but I'll be back saturday march 19th and I will race in Suzuka. I tested a few laps in Suzuka and my pace is around 2:01

EDIT: are we going to use the new Suzuka Circuit 2014 version?

@DeltaJuliet if you don't mind, what's your internet service and full router manufacturer and model please? Perhaps I can track down a setting which will help our compatibility.

I'm with Virgin Media, using the supplied Hub 3.0 modem and router. "Up to 50mbps" fibre broadband contract. Ethernet cable from router to PS3, even though they are right next to each other.

No other users and my laptop is idle during gaming: no P2P, Netflix, YouTube background tabs, etc.

Nope. Those 4 or 5 laps reminded me why the in game penalty system never gets used. 3 second penalty for using a kerb, cmon man you can **** off with that!
