I was just about to answer your question before you even asked.

I'll be putting my current car up for sale, a red 1985 Mazda RX-7. I paid 5,914 Cr. for it at the used car dealership.

While it was in my care, it got
  • Stage 1 Weight Reduction (1,100 Cr.)
  • Lightweight Flywheel (550 Cr.)
  • Stage 1 Turbo Kit (4,600 Cr.)
  • Racing Intercooler (2,700 Cr.)

All in all, I put 14,914 Cr. into it, and will be selling it for 5,945.6 Cr.

With the profits from the sale and my winnings, I was able to buy.....

A 1995 Mazda RX-7 RZ

I paid 13,859 Cr. for it, and sent it to the same speed shop that worked on my FC. It got the Stage 1 Weight Reduction (1,200 Cr.), an upgraded ECU and tune (1,500 Cr.), and an oil change (50 Cr.). It's quite fast and very capable, not to mention much sexier than the old FC.

I was also considering an R32 GT-R, but the RX-7 cost less, was just as fast, and cheaper to boot. Much lighter as well, and better balanced with less understeer and more even tire wear.

^The oil change is not counted in the value of your car, so sale price should be 5,945.6cr.

Where did you find a '95 RX-7 RZ for 13,318? My spreadsheet and used car dealer both show the cheaper version to be 13,859cr, which after modifications leaves you with 23cr.

@everyone, don't worry about declaring power and weight figures any more - I only know the stats for half the field now, and part of that is down to so many people having the same car!

I'm now just waiting to see what car Driftking rolls up in before re-opening the betting shop.

I thought I made it obvious when I said I was sticking with Mitsubishi?

I'll pass on this one, but do keep me updated whenever another car becomes available - I could change my mind and jump ship.

Doh! Don't know how I bungled the new car price up. :dunce:

I thought I had calculated the resale value without the oil change. Went back and checked and I had screwed that up too. I've edited my previous post to correct these errors.

Two bad mistakes in one day. Sorry guys. :scared:

My new car is a '91 Nissan Skyline GT-R. It has cost me €15,834, including an oil change and nothing else.

That has left me with €5,525. I have bought:

Wing:
€1,200
Racing chip:
€1,500
Stage 1 Weight Reduction:
€1,200

This leaves me with €1,625.

This week has really good tracks. Grand vally east gave me the most trouble and I thought it would be a cake walk lol. Was way off the track the first two times I ran it, I managed to keep it on the track and put down an ok time on the last try though. This was the first time I ran opera paris, Its a fun, yet technical track. Autumn ring was fun, I dont drive that track enough though.

If she drives like you do, there's no surprise. That is one track where I have to concede. I hate it there. I do not like it. Not in a box, not in a tree, not with a fox, you let me be. I frickin hate Kong.

I love the Paris street circuit, just not with other cars on it.

I think I got a really good time in the end though.

If you don't want want to drive it, mark DNF on your submission form and don't drive it.

* 1:3 will be rounded to 7:20 should I have to payout.

Like last week, this is odds on gaining any podium position in any race this week. With 12 podium places available and just 11 drivers it's a definite possibility, made more likely by the new cars being much more evenly matched than before the fire-sale started.

Also like last week I'll only accept bets in multiples of 20cr, but now only 5 bets per person - with a total limit of 500cr.

Oh, I'm gonna run it, I'm just gonna complain, real often and in really large type. I might even throw in some colors for flavor.

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

You make it sound like something a wife made you do.

Car-less, I still bet 80 on GrumpEone.

My parts for the week.

At the first race in Paris I was stuck behind the widest Honda Accord I've ever seen for the first half lap, so after the race I went off to the tuners. Unfortunately I had insufficient funds for any real power gains and was forced to go with just a race flywheel to improve engine response. On my return to the track the Honda was nowhere to be seen, and the Supra that had taken his place got himself into an argument even before the start line, effectively gifting me two places! Imagine how happy I was to find this second race to be some 7 seconds faster than the first!

Even better was Hong Kong. Everything just fell into place and I was able to drive around the opposition without any fuss - it was like passing busses as they pulled into bus stops in front of you!

Autumn ring however was not so nice. I was up against a VW Golf R32 that just wanted to play bumper cars. He managed to run into me 3 times in the first sector of the first race before I was able to pull ahead. The next two attempts and despite my best efforts to keep out of his way, he still managed to hit me both races. Once I was free of him things went reasonably well, and I even got the back end of the car to step out entering the 270 degree curve.

I arrived at Grand Valley East and immediately expected a bloodbath - everybody except a lone Honda Integra was driving a blood red car! After a slow start I managed to pass 3 cars approaching the hairpin, the snow white ITR through the corner and the final car just after. Had I not tapped the outer wall exiting the hairpin on the second lap this would have been a perfect race!

Now if nobody minds, I'd like to place some bets again this week.
Any objections?

Looks like Friday will be my racing day again, of course after probably another hour practice session, to learn the finer points of drifting the Camaro, without being able to adjust the suspension. With all the turns in this week's races, and the Camaro's lack of turning radius, it seems drifting the tight turn is the only solution for good times. I think I should have kept the RX-7 for one more week, but the 100 HP increase was too tempting.
