Onboy – Rabrig NSX ’06 – lap time 1:39.825
Onboy, the way that you describe your tunes, I always expect to drive something awful. It is never the case. Fantastic corner entry and braking. Good mid-corner. Overall it is a fun tune and a decent lap time. It does have one fatal flaw, corner exit. Be very, very careful on exit when getting back to throttle. You need to be almost straight before hitting full throttle. I experienced that it was pretty easy to spin the outside rear wheel which to me is a product of a high LSD accel number. Also, you left a bit on the table with the transmission. Maybe a taller 2nd gear could help with exit wheel spin? And not even close to redline with 6th gear.
I bet you it's only because I spent so much time with it I get paranoid over the faults of the tune. And I've found that every time I'm happy with a car, everyone hates it. :lol: The exit oversteer was always going to be a problem. If I lowered the LSD Accel number, it might be tamed but then entry and rotation in general would be affected. As for the gearbox…I have nothing to say in my defense, I screwed it up after I realised the default gearbox provided better acceleration compared to the first gearbox I built for this car. I just got confused about the powerband and such so I thought it best to just leave this area alone for this round. Thanks for feeding the tuners, I'm done with making excuses now. :lol:

All my tests were done with a DS3, manual transmission (finally wearing my big boy pants!), ABS 1.

Onboy - Raybrig - NSX 1:38.936
Well somehow this car was .02 faster than my own Arta NSX time, despite being harder to use. Was I supposed to be drifting around the corners? :lol: Not sure how I beat my own Arta time, but I did. :confused: Still, compared to Desperado's Lambo, a piece of cake to drive! :lol:

Yup. Strange, but true, if you drive it with a DS3 with my kind of style, there's a chance that you spend almost all the time in the corners with some degree of slip and sliding going. :lol:

Thanks for the tests so far guys, and sorry for the oversteer this time round, I guess the 4WD Imprezas last time made me feel the need to let loose this time. :lol: Glad you all survived the LMP-esque oversteer. :lol:

Well you already get bonus points from me for picking one of my favorite cars. The GT500 NSX is one of the bigger pains for both tuners (at least I would imagine) and drivers alike. As for Onboy's NSX, it's actually quite a treat. From an initial viewpoint, it handles typically like a GT500 NSX would. Taking Onboy's advice from when I tested the Garaiya, his NSX felt a lot more solid and stable. It almost beat my 666 HP Stealth NSX's lap record. However...

Something feels off about this tune. I remember Onboy mentioning how whenever he was satisfied with the car, others seemed to hate it. I can't help but feel like something's missing. It feels like it could corner faster than it does right now, but it's being held back by a vicious understeer that stabilizes the car a little more than necessary. I wonder if those changes Onboy was satisfied with are the key to squeezing the rest of this car's potential out... I guess I'll never know.

Overall, I like the tune. I feel like it could be a bit better, but I definitely still like it. I'm stealing it for my own Raybrig. :dopey:

I have to say, I gave up with it after I lost sight of the car's actual purpose, so the understeer is probably a result of that. Though you are the first person to actually mention understeer, so I wonder if it's just down to driving style.

I have to say, if I were to build this car for my own uses, I'd have used a notch or two of +ve ride height, but my ethical side got the better of me so I didn't. :lol: doin that would probably increase the forming speed a bit.

Overall, I like the tune. I feel like it could be a bit better, but I definitely still like it. I'm stealing it for my own Raybrig. :dopey:

Word of warning, do not go anywhere near an online room with it. It's untested and it bites hard offline, so quite how it's like online I don't know and daren't think of it.

About a half of a second off of the Stealth's time and that lap time was set in the day where I put Racing Mediums on everything, so it had better tires. If it weren't for that big front straight, I bet your Raybrig would be faster than that Stealth.

Probably a driving style thing. I treated the NSX really nice and kept it in 3rd on the trickier corners that weren't hairpins.

Word of warning, do not go anywhere near an online room with it. It's untested and it bites hard offline, so quite how it's like online I don't know and daren't think of it.

I hate GT500 online races anyways. Nobody in public rooms handle that class right and you know that everybody just loves their Racing Softs in public rooms. I might hate GT300 online races too if people actually hosted them. :v

Besides that, it may be my adaptive driving style, but I hardly notice the differences between online and offline physics very often. I'm well aware that they're different, it's just that I can almost never notice. I don't pay attention to my lap times either. Driving with lap times in mind hurts me a lot and causes me to take some nasty risks trying to handle corners the same way each time.

Yeah I wouldn't make a big deal about a half second gap if both cars were on Racing Hards.

Works all of the time with fighting games. The only difference is that we get raped by high level Japanese players in fighting games. When it comes to racing games, America stands somewhat of a chance against Japan. :lol:

Also, I need XDesperado to add me so I can finish testing these freaking Murder Lambos and Adrenaline needs to add me so I can't look at the other GT500 tunes the same way anymore.

Not helpful. At all. Just link everyone's tests so far which are in a post (mine included :P) so that we tuners can find feedback for our cars without having to wait for person X/Y/Z to finish results. We're all after feedback, so keep that in mind that it'll be best for the tuners to find it as easily as possible. Accessible results are key to us lot not hating you, and that's being dead serious. We don't want to fish through 500 pages to look for a result sheet just because you say no one's results are complete.

Did that and changed the rules. Testers gotta choose their top 5 cars (1st wins 5 points, 5th gains 1, the rest is pretty obvious). Prizes we're changed to reflect the changes in the points.
 
GT300

XDesperado67 Autobacs Garayia '03: Very stable. No understeer or oversteer. Holds it's lane pretty well and it's very calm, forgiving car. Nice acceleration out of the turns and a good final speed at the end of the long straight.

VTiRoj Subaru Cusco Impreza '08: Very good. 4WD gave a huge advantage in some turns, since I could make them a bit faster than with other cars. I felt the 2nd gear a bit too short for my taste, but apart from that, really fast!

krenkme RE Amemyia AsparaDrink RX-7 '06: Fairly easy to drive, the back liked to be a bit happy in the chicane, before the complex last sector, but apart from that, really fast thru the turns and the straight. Transmission very well adjusted.

Onboy Autobacs Garayia '03: It was tail happy in some turns, but a very nice ride. Transmission was nicely adjusted, and it was quite fun holding the car when the back kicked out. Very nice ride.

CSLACR Toyota Celica '03: I seriously don't know how, but now this is the fastest GT300! I can't even give a feedback, this car is perfect. Awesome job CSLACR!

trackripper123 Subaru Cusco Impreza '03: Stable, fast. Can brake very late, good through the turns. Transmission was adjusted to almost reach the top speed of the car on the end of the main straight, which gives some nice acceleration on the exit of some turns. ugabugaz Subaru Cusco Impreza '08: It didn't felt as fast as it was. I find the 1st and 2nd gears a bit long, the car handles well in the turns, and no bit of understeer or oversteer. Good car.

MrGrado Lexus Weds Sport IS350 '08: Never struggled so hard to drive a car like this one. The car wouldn't respond quickly to my action, couldn't brake as late as I like. I did really try to extract the best of the car, I stayed 10+ laps with it at Fuji and almost I didn't get it down to the 46s. Sorry MrGrado, but that's not something to feel bad. What went wrong with me, might work with somebody.

GeeBaby/praiano63 Toyota Celica '03: The most stable, easy and fast car I drove so far in this class. I don't have much words to say about it, the last sentence described it pretty well.

I'm not gonna lie. The GeeBaby/Praiano Celica is pretty damn wicked (recently finished testing it). I prefer Krenkme's RX-7 over it, but it's still a really fast car.

As I first said, it's Praiano and then some, which is like a Ferrari 458 and then some, i.e a pretty bloody faultless base with some adjustments to fit a broader audience, in this case.

So it's not entirely surprising when you look at it like that. :lol:

I could only get it down to a 1.45.9xx, so that's quite a difference :)
I took a bit of a risk with the transmission, trading off speed on the straight with acceleration out of the corners, but I think the powerband was relatively wide anyway...
I tried to keep the oversteer at bay as much as possible while not creating understeer, but that chicane is brutal :P I had similar problems with it during testing.

Still, surprised you found oversteer which required you to actually respond to, but I know your style of driving, so it's taken into account of. What actually surprises me is that you're a good 0.8 seconds down on my time…maybe time spent sideways could have been taken away and used on going faster? :lol:

I kid, the fact that no-one's dead yet is good enough. :lol:

I'm closer to the top times than I expected. I thought the 4WD would penalize me on the straights too much to make it anything close to competitive. I did set second gear a bit short to encourage the rear to slide around the first and last corners since you rarely need to use second at Fuji.

As for the tie with Onboy, I think the faster car should get priority. :sly:
