TCV5 HURRY THE HELL UP thread

I haven't even bronzed most of the S tests, and I don't know the 'Ring, so it's going to take me best part of a day to get the car... I'll see what I can do anyway!

^ Well the good thing is: all this constant testing and re-testing at Motegi has no-doubt sharpened up my skillz. Perhaps the S won't be as hard as I think it will be by the time I get to needing a Solstice.

Super-Clubby? Someone watches TGA. I think your going to like my Supercar entry although I am quite disappointed that it's not going against your Clubby.

Assuming I counted right there are
13 Lightweight
13 Middleweight
8 Heavyweight
8 Supercar

You're disappointed? Think how I feel. I waited to put my rides up so I could test more and then the tunes got mixed up in all the relocating!! Even now, they're in a bag here but I'm not tearing apart the rest of what I have here to pull out a couple of 'maybe' tunes.

Hey Camry, Auto gear setting for the Falcon is not listed. Will post our collaborative tune in an hour or two, am doing dinner right now

Thanks PF. I was just getting really jittery in anticipation of the final entry date of TCv5

I would've only touched the F6 if I did the FPV's, and I could still go against you technically....just whack a 30/30 wing on my R Spec, it's around the 2.8 WPR range and off we go. :P

By the way Camryfan, your front spring rate says 7./ so what is it? 7.0 or 7.9?? ;)

7.5, fixed now. Thanks Maf's

I was in fact tuning a F6 but it was giving me the *****. I finally lost it with the F6 and bolted the suspension off the Jaguar (albeit with a few tweaks to the spring rate) to the GT Actually if I did keep the F6 I would have nearly every base covered (4 pot, 6 Cylinder and V8).

Have you noticed how the boost pressure dies at high rpm on the F6?

Dang McSqueegy had to enter a Solstice, tho. This means I'll have to silver the S-licenses! I have no fear that I can do this, but it'll add time to my judging since I never even started the S after all this time! :indiff: I might do McSqueegy's Solstice last, if nobody minds. I'm not looking forward to spending an evening doing license tests...it's been awhile. :indiff:
Hehe, I don't mind. The car is worth the effort! I only realised how people had to acquire the car after I'd entered it. Apologies to all, but you really should've golded those licences while you had the chance :P. Good luck with those licences, getting silvers is pretty easy tho 👍

YOU say this.

For the rest of us, it's not all that easy. ;)

It's only nerve breaking first time you do it.
I did all gold about 5 or 6 times,2 or 3 for myself(corrupt data arrgh and one new career) and 2 or 3 for my friends.

Or a tuner for that matter. :P

Camryfan, I've already tuned the R Spec perfectly for what it was...that's why it was already doing 1.57's @ GVS without downforce, and when you fit the S2 turbo, it keeps the boost going a lot better but it should be shifted around 6k to keep it in the best torque and power range. That being said, if I put the wing on, it might make it too wild for handling.....maybe, but it's already in a sweet spot.

It's a similar story with the Super-Clubby Prototype I've put out, it's best when the revs are kept short and sweet, it really dies after 6k.

Yea. It's just by fat chance that I've never completed an S license yet, on all my memory cards/games. But like I said, I have no doubt I can do this; it'll probably take an afternoon, tho.

But what if I was some unskilled driver who couldn't? Think about that for a minute.

September 3rd, 2009: the final vote for the TCV5 is in as Parnelli Bones :indiff: FINALLY gets to drive Macca's Pontiac Solstice. All the other judges have long had their votes cast, and they've all been waiting for Mr. Bones. :dunce: Unfortunately, his skillz weren't mad enough to silver the S on his own. He had to get a specially-saved memory card from mafia boy Standard/Overnite FedEx'ed to him which has a Solstice saved upon it. :ouch::embarrassed: It cost $36.00 to do this, but Mr. Bones was getting desperate, you see. Plus, eveyone was getting mad at him!:banghead:

.....Just kidding. I anticipate being done far before September. Hopefully far before August. :indiff:

See you in August then.

Sorry mate, that's you. :sly:

Bzz. You FAIL!! :P

Supercar entry coming up sometime today and it's something that I'm usually very poor at tuning: An iron-diff AWD.

Will be good to see, this has become a RWD festival in this puppy.

Parnelli, you get similar times to me, you should BLITZ the S class licences within a day. 👍

So not to disappoint Camryfan, I've brought in the F6 out of the GME garage to play with the other so called 'supercars' and showing you all what REAL power is all about. The most powerful car in the field yet but untested with the wing, I hope it's a gamble that pays off.

Power is nothing without control, Mafs. Whilst your F6 is wondering why it's tyres aren't finding any traction, my CSL is already halfway down the road. :P
