Force India's Christmas party is this weekend. They typically nnounce their drivers for the next season then.

It's funny how money turns things over lol.

At the end of the season I've seen report where journalist were saying that FI was looking for an experience driver and now the driver that have the most chance have no experience in F1 and didnt even won the championship where he was competiting this year. Ahhh money~

I wouldnt mind him getting the seat tho even if I still hope that Buemi will suddently come and grab the seat.

Tom
I would highly doubt it, seen as HRT were Campos Meta originally and they ran out of money...

I think it is possible. He was the one who dragged Campos out of the dirt in the first place, a month before the start of the season.

No, he's the one who ran out of money. Jose Roman Carabante bought the team out and renamed it Hispania with Colin Kolles put as Team Prinicpal.

Kolles didn't have anything to do with them running out of money. Kolles put everything together, paid off Dallara, and for their first year, HRT was operating from his base in Germany. In fact, if it wasn't for Kolles driver management, HRT probably wouldn't have been able to afford to complete the season.

I was referring to Adrian Campos.

I would figure that Kobi would put points on the board and that would off set the money he doesn't have thru constructor's championship points money. (Scratching Head)

Without Kobi's points(60) they would have fell 2 spots which would have cost them a little over $10 million, which isn't much when you consider Maldonado supposedly brought 45 million Euros to Williams.

Constructor prize breakdown

Pay driver stats

Not sure how accurate either is.

A lot of talk right now on the grapevine that Max Chilton is going to be confirmed as Marussia's 2nd driver unsurprisingly.
Marussia continues to be a revolving door for the second seat.

Chilton has been confirmed already. He was announced to the Russian media overnight by Nikolai Fomenko, who owns the team. Unfortunately, my only source for this is in Russian.

Interesting comment in the BBC article yesterday:

I think this would be an interesting scenario. Lets say Lotus (for lack of money) and Force India (Unknown) stop existing. Would every team be allowed to run 3 cars? Or would they pick and choose who got to? Surely the seat-less drivers would end up with a drive-especially Kimi and di Resta in one of the 3rd cars. Or would they choose to just put in their 3rd driver?

Mostly irrelevant, sine it's fairly unlikely. But 3 car teams could be neat to watch...

During the 2011 MotoGP season Honda used 3 bikes whilst the other factory teams used 2, it basically guaranteed Honda the constructors title but it cost them more money to run a third bike and might have split resources between the 3 riders. So if a 3rd car was allowed I think only a few would choose that opition or the teams would agree not to run a 3rd car because F1 would become more expensive without any team really benefitting, I would prefer to see 3 car teams though.

Glad for Grosjean because he can be a great driver if he sorts out his accident rate.

But sad for Kobayashi as surely Force India is a little out of the question?

Im very happy with Romain staying in F1. I think that if he can sort out his start he's gonna be very good.

FI said they werent seeking a paid driver so we never know. However the driver in pole to go there is Bianchi who have pocket full of money and influencal people (ferrari and Todt family)

He's looked fast this year but I don't think Kimi was firing on all cylinders until the second half of the season when he started to outqualify Grosjean. This season Romain has either been overly aggressive or overly tentative which has often meant crashes. He was the best available driver though in my opinion. I'm surprised Kamui is still without a drive, he seems to have quite a large and loyal fanbase.

Hmph. Was going to break the Grosjean news, as the press release was in my inbox, but oh well.

Sad for Koba. Hopefully something will open up for him nearer the start of the season, but I doubt it.

Wow, 8mil. Impressive work for a guy who brought nothing before and had to find cash within a couple of months.
I think his best hope now is for a reserve role, maybe getting Friday practice time if he is lucky. Then at least he can hope to be in the right place at the right time if Grosjean or whoever Force India get are not up to scratch.

Maybe he can hook up with Honda if they do indeed come back although I don't know if his Toyota connections make this difficult?

Perhaps a Williams reserve seat is a possibility? Though I think its unlikely that Williams will want to change their line-up again if they can avoid it for 2014.

Interesting that he said competitive team, suggesting he possibly had options to fill one of the lower order slots but wasn't interested.

Is it any surprise looking at what has happened to Kovalainen, Glock and Trulli? You get forgotten when you move back there, which is a crying shame because I still rate Glock highly.

Kovaleinen for me.

He's a good team player, who does well in the midfield. Despite his unhappy time at McLaren, I still maintain he'd be the perfect foil for Alonso at Ferrari.

I dont really agree, he didnt crash often. He had a couple race where he did a bad start and then he had lots of pression because of the spa event. However if you look at the whole season he wasnt responsible for that much crash. There's maybe 3 that he could have avoid, others are just racing incident.

As for Kamui, fanbase dont do anyhting in F1. You either need money or hope that one of the big name notice you and sign you in. Otherwise you're pretty doomed. Kamui as much as I love how he drive and overtake didnt come with the result Sauber was expecting. If it wasnt good enough for sauber it's probably not good enough for any higher team. And the team behind Sauber all requieres more or less money to get a wheel. So yeah :/

I still find it odd how the difference to Perez was only 6 points yet Perez gets a McLaren and Kamui gets nothing.

Personally I think Sauber were the ones that were shockingly poor with their pit stops and strategies...but I guess its easier for them to just blame the drivers.

Very rarely if never did you see Sauber ever top the pit stop times and their strategies were nearly always the typical split strategies...which produced split results every single time.

I'll be interested to see what Hulkenburg can do with the same team..but I fear he might suffer the same problems. I hope it isn't too late for him to still make a top team because he really deserves a shot.
